Suites guests are not treated VIP on Carnival as the other cruise lines do

Bad reviews first: Boarding was terrible. We booked the Capitan suite which is supposed to be a top notch suite, but we were not treated as VIP's as the other cruise lines like NCL or Holland America. All suites guests were hoarded into two small rooms. The PA kept announcing "priority boarding will begin 11:30 AM" even 15 minutes after 11:30. We were finally boarded the Sunshine around 12 ...

We just returned from a 7 day cruise through New England on the Sunshine. In summary--long lines for everything, worst food I have ever had on a cruise, good, but limited, entertainment, and our aft balcony room was below average in layout and condition. Details below: Lines: We waited in line (not sitting but standing in line) an hour and 40 minutes to check in Manhattan, even though we ...

Worst Carnival Cruise I've taken!

This is my 4th Carnival Cruise, and I can definitely say this was the worst. The Ocean Suite I stayed in was showing wear and tear in the bathroom especially. They had the casino in the center of the ship where they still allow smoking. I could smell the smoke everywhere. (Why not have it at the back of the ship so we don't have to walk through there to get to many of the lounges or food?) My ...

We had never been to Canada and this cruise was the answer, or was it?? Upon arriving at LaGuardia Airport in New York, the 2 of us stood around for over an hour waiting for a Carnival Representative to greet us. Once this happened there was confusion on how we were going to be transported to the Carnival Sunshine. After another wait, we got on a van and rode through New York for at ...

Small public areas, such as atrium and theater. Too many passengers for small spaces. Food was not great on buffet or in the main dining room. Our toilet was dirty when we embarked. We could not plug into the electrical outlet for some reason. The room steward brought us an extension cord but that would not fit into the electrical outlet either. Toilet flushed 2 to 3 times on it's own ...

Unpleasant Cabin experience.

The Carnival Sunshine is an older Carnival Ship. Although it has been renovated, it is no Carnival Breeze. The ship had fewer open spaces and when weather was poor, the Lido Deck became over crowded. Forget about a relaxing breakfast, have it in your room. One highlight, The Havana Bar was a lovely space to relax and enjoy live Latin music. Due to its age the Ship tends to be a bit ...

We did this cruise 10 years ago on the Carnival VIctory. Loved that ship! Our first disappointment was walking into our balcony room on 9. The balcony was in disrepair & the windows looking out were milky. You could see where the insulation between the glass was falling & it impaired the view greatly. We nearly always get balcony rooms and this was our first experience with the windows ...

I have only gone on one cruise prior to my trip on Carnival Sunshine. This was my first time traveling with Carnival and I can truthfully say, very likely to be my last. I am not a difficult person to please and when I read some of the reviews on this site, I thought we would be just fine because we had realistic expectations of the cruise. Unfortunately, this cruise did not meet my ...

What happened to Carnival?

After a 11-12 year hiatus of cruising we decided to come back after doing the "Disney Thing" with our son this January with Royal Caribbean. We had such a fantastic Royal Caribbean cruise we decided to take another in October, the Carnival Sunshine out of New York. Switching from Royal Caribbean to Carnival was a mistake. Carnival Sunshine, New York Sailing October 17, 2016 - October 22, 2016 ...
