Even at reduced capacity, I felt like I spent most of my time waiting for drinks at the bar

Review for Carnival Sunrise to Bahamas

Embarkation: My family had a 10:30am-11:00am check-in time. We showed up around 10:50am and the line was non-existent. Check-in was a breeze and we were on the ship in less than 20 minutes from the time we got to the port. Cabin: Oceanview room. Very bad room, I do not recommend it at all. See review below. Cabin steward was ehhh. He never said hi when we passed by him in the hallway, ...

We chose this cruise over Valentine's Day for our group of 12 as it fit perfectly with the kids traveling with us school schedule that allowed them a few days off for a winter break. We had 4 adults in their 20s, 2 in their 30s, 2 in their 50s, and 4 kids aged 6, 11, 12, and 14. This was the kids very first cruise as the rest of us are experienced cruisers. We are big fans of the Carnival Sunshine ...

Short Bahamas Cruise on Carnival Sunrise

We choose this cruise specifical for the room (Scenic Grand Ocean View) and it was totally worth it. The room cost a little bit more than a normal Oceanview but less than a balcony. Since it was the corner room, it had tons of open space. We traveled with a group of adults and kids. Everyone had a great time. Carnivals anytime dining worked great even with needed two larger tables. We ...

Very Crowded, at all times

I went with two members of my family on this cruise near the end of August 2019. I'm late writing this review, but after a few months of thinking about our vacation, one thing became glaringly obvious: this ship is overcrowded. All my family can remember is waiting for half an hour or forty minutes on line to pick up a sandwich, which only had two people behind the counter. The buffet lines were ...

Waste of time and money

I choose Carnival because I wanted to experience a different cruise line. Oh my goodness, have you ever been on a cruise where there was hardly any food? Unbelievable! You have to pay for everything! French fries ($2), no free chicken wings ($5), restaurants were packed (the 3 free restuarants) and they were opened with limited time so with the long lines, good luck if you make it to the front ...

So we chose this cruise because I liked the idea that it was refurbished and it looked beautiful with lots to do. We are 5 people in an oceanview room. First, embarkation was fantastic! We parked in the manhattan terminal parking and from the time we parked to the time we got on the ship was maybe 20 minutes all together. Easy! Our room wasn’t ready yet since it was only around 12:15 so they tell ...

My wife and I have traveled many times with Carnival and like the upbeat atmosphere. Although the cruise started off rough due to the port fiasco (arrived at 11:00 a.m., got onboard at 3:00 p.m.), we ended up having a great time. Dinner seating (early with friends) was not correct but Maitre D fixed it first night for us. This was a Journey cruise with an 80's theme. The Flying Scotsman was ...

I stayed on Riviera Deck Midship. No balcony but spacious except for the shower. There was a lack of storage space and Small tiny nightstands. We moved the life vests and placed them under the bed so we could use the closet space. It had a nice size tv, we just watched ship cameras or ship location channels. Only used one electrical outlet to plug in our multiport gadget to charge our ...

Worst Carnival cruise ever!

Review for Carnival Sunrise to Caribbean - Eastern

Norfolk is near where we now live. We used to cruise out of Baltimore on the Carnival Pride once a year (sometimes more). Since we had NEVER had a bad cruise on the Pride, we were eager to see what the refurbished Sunrise had to offer. We were extremely disappointed, so much so that we are rethinking whether to ever cruise with Carnival again. Embarkation was a cruel joke. It was if Carnival ...
