The Staff, service and food was just amazing. The Panama Canal transit was very informative and left no question unanswered, almost like a live documentary.I would recommend this to anyone. I traveled with my Husband and my 2 grown boys who shared the room next to us. Our Room Steward opened the door that separates the Balcony ,that way we all four could share one big Balcony and that was also an amazing feature for the Panama Canal Transit. All the Ports we stopped at felt safe and had great excursions lined up for us. The boys got to do the Behind the Fun excursion on the last Sea Day and loved it. They were blown away to be able to see some of the Kitchen,Laundry ,Engine Control Room and even the Bridge and were able to ask as many questions as they wanted. Even tho it was a 13 day cruise, it never felt to long ! Read Less

1) because my brother and his wife have never cruised before. 2) the price 3) where it was going. 4) because my brother and his wife still like to party. Carnival seems more like a party type atmosphere. The staff was wonderful from our room steward Wayan to our dinner stall Dede, Ignatius, and Polett. to the staff in cloud-9. spent the day in New Orleans before embarkation. Embarkation went very smoothly ( great job) our cabin 7203 is classified interior, but has a window. It is interior with a picture(walkway view). It was our highest level yet. and a good choice. they do sell out fast. we enjoyed most of our dinning I was disappointed in the main buffet, but like the other 3 buffet or was it 4? guy burgers was very good, the pasta bella was not a buffet, but a sit down where you place an order and drop it off at the head of serving line and then go sit down and they deliver it piping hot as you ordered. a don't miss if you travel on the Dream. Main dinning room was very good. the chef's table was an outstanding experience. It di cost extra, but we thought it well worth it. the shows in the encore lounge were to mush like Vegas style and loud. we like more Broadway style performances. disembarkation went very smooth also. We were hesitant about carnival but it suited for a quick trip after 5 days in sydney we did the same cruise 11yrs ago on a P&O ship but spirit was much better, we weren't planning on doing shore excursions due to the cost and we had previously been there. Only got off in noumea to get free WiFi it is very expensive on ship. We had a minor issue with seating at emerald dining room as we wanted a table for 2 but it was quickly sorted out. For my husband's birthday we booked nouveau Restaurants it was the most amazing meal best steak hubby has ever had side dishes, dessert and service was top class it was worth alot more than $45 each. All other times we ate at emerald dining room we could not fault the food, service or atmosphere, we were very very blessed to have a private tour and tasting in galley for emerald it was amazing something l had always wanted to see CYRIL the chef was lovely and explained all the ins/outs of the kitchen, produce and training we loved the opportunity and really made it special many thanks to isabella from dining room for selecting us.. The shows were great and always little activities if you wish to do them, oncecagain many thanjs to all for a wonderful job. Read Less

Let me just start with Guy's Burger Joint is the BEST burger I have ever eaten!! It was amazing. Rest of the food was better than I expected too. Drinks were tasty and STRONG. The Alchemy Bar was a great addition and high quality. Rooms were fine. Really wish they had balcony rooms but we made do with the Oceanview stateroom. Lots of storage and good size bathroom. Few improvements for the ship. Wish the pool had been heated. It was COLD!!! Also wish the kids club was bigger. Looks like it was an afterthought. All in all it was a nice 4 day getaway. Catalina was beautiful. Could have stayed there for two days. We could do without Ensenada. Not my favorite port. Too many people trying to sell you junk and I felt like we were always trying to be taken advantage of. Not the cruise lines fault. Just my opinion. Read Less

My husband and I booked a quick 4 night cruise without the kids and had a wonderful time on the Carnival Liberty. Embarkation was smooth and the personnel at the terminal were friendly. We were on board within an hour of arriving. Our room was ready when we arrived. Our cabin steward was unobtrusive, but always around if we needed him. We were in cabin 2473. It is in the aft of the ship and was always quiet and peaceful. No one was ever in the hallway near our cabin. We have been on about 12 different Carnival ships and this was one of our favorites. It didn't look like a circus threw up! The colors were muted pastels and everything was actually coordinated nicely. The ship was in good repair and well maintained. Every employee we encountered was polite and seemed genuinely happy to be there. We have never been on a cruise with such a wonderful, happy atmosphere. The food seems to improve every time we cruise with Carnival. They are really stepping up their game. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience on the Liberty. The only complaints we had was the temperature in our room was warm the whole time. If it were summertime it would have been miserable. Also, there was a horrible smell of raw sewage in a couple of the hallways. I mean HORRIBLE smell. I hope it was due to a temporary problem and not a permanent one! Read Less

This was our third cruise on Legend and our second with the same itinerary so we knew what to expect. There's lots to do, great entertainment, excellent food. We tended to go to the restaurant each night to avoid the temptation of too much food being available on the Lido deck - great service and lots of variety at the restaurant changing every night. The Nouveau Restaurant was worth a visit - charge was $45 but good value. Shore excursions were available but we did our own thing - in Noumea we went into town and got a ticket for the Hop on Hop Off bus ($A12 as opposed to the $A20 being charged on the ship) and went straight to Citron Bay for swimming and a visit to the brewery. Buying a bus ticket was the only way to get to the beach at Mare (snorkeling disappointing as little to see). Snorkeling at Isle of Pines was excellent - we saw a sea snake and two large turtles which was unexpected. Service was always excellent, staff friendly and helpful. If you have children make sure you supervise them at the pools as there are no staff for that purpose and there are lots of children jumping around and seemingly unaware of other children. Read Less

We had a fantastic time on our cruise! I was a bit worried after reading so many negative reviews about the ship, but please be assured that this is a wonderful ship and I would gladly cruise again on this exact same boat. The boat was very clean. Our room was clean with great water pressure and very hot water from the shower. The staff was constantly sweeping and wiping on the ship. On the Lido deck where the food is, the waiters would pick and wipe up immediately after someone left the table. Overall the food was good. There were items we liked and some we didn't like so much. If you were in the dining room and you didn't like what you ordered, the waiters will gladly bring you a different dish. The most enjoyable meal I had was on the deck from Guys Burger and Fries and tacos from the Blue Iguana. I tried the Old fashioned BBQ once, and wasn't a fan so we didn't go back there. Breakfast from the Lido deck was also very good with a selection of omelets, waffles, french toast, pancakes, hashbrowns, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, grits, fruit, cereal, selection of pastries, and so much more. On the boat you only get OJ, apple juice, lemonade, tea, and a couple other juices included. You have to pay for soda and of course any alcoholic beverages. Carnival does a lot to keep you entertained. There were a variety of activities happening all day long: bingo, comedy shows, productions, marriage games, karaoke, piano bar, bands playing in the evening, deck parties and much more. Our favorites were the shows and productions. We visited the dance club a couple of times and the comedy shows as well. We thoroughly enjoyed the activities Carnival had planned. The highlight of our cruise was the ATV excursion in Nassau. We went through some extremely rugged trails, but survived. We also got to do some shopping in the Straw Market. We did the Beach excursion which was booked through Carnival while we were in Freeport. It was a gorgeous beach. I just wish we had more than 3.5 hours there. If you're energetic and like to have a good time, I think you will enjoy Carnival Liberty. Embarkation and Debarkation both took time, so just be patient. There were 3,600 people trying to get on and off the boat, so I knew there would be a small wait. It didn't take too long though. My husband and I had a blast and will definitely book with Carnival in the future. Read Less

This was my second cruise I have been on, the sunshine was awesome I loved the people that worked on it they made everything fun,the food was amazing way better than my first cruise. I had the best time of my life on this cruise I swear I did not want to get off. Matter of fact my cousin and I are coming back on the sunshine in October with other family members who have not been on a cruise before so I hope and pray we have as much fun as we did when we went in may. I can not wait to get back on the sunshine. I loved the games they played with the music. The club on the boat was very very fun. The drinks were amazing the kiss on the lips is the best yet. I recommend the carnival sunshine to anyone so I hope it is the same when we get back on in October. : ) Read Less

I was told 3 times where the bar was and I needed to get my own drinks, never before have I had that happen to me. the majority of the crew seemed to be put out when asked for something. the ship smeeled like a sewer.the A/C was horrible in our room. ive had way better food on other ships. you couldn't get a soda after 2am, room service never answered the phone. there it is, you asked for my review and you got it. I'm not trying to get anything from this review, chances are more than 80% I wouldn't take one if they/you offered for free . espically not on the freedom or any other ship Malcome was involved with Read Less
