Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Carnival Splendor

I boarded the Carnival Splendor with my husband looking forward to their Exotic Southern Caribbean Cruise even though I have visited all these ports before. I have traveled on Carnival several times, but have also traveled on Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Norwegian and Holland America. The ship itself is clean and well maintained. We had an oceanview cabin and I was surprised to find that the ...

Did not care for this ship. Did not have the 2.0 upgrades. Major disappointment.

I choose this ship purely because of the itinerary. Southern Caribbean with Aruba and Curacao. We had a scenic OV room on lido deck. Love this room. The view was amazing. The only drawback was because it was the front of the ship you do feel the motion. It may not be as problem for some people, but it bothered me. Only had morning service for my stateroom but my attendant was awesome. The ...

We really enjoyed our cruise last week on the Carnival Splendor. I was a little timid given the experience we had last time out on a different Carnival Ship but I am glad my wife talked me into giving it another chance. Let me tell you the positives. They had the best cruise ship band I have ever heard. It was called Daytime Television and it seemed like they could play just about anything ...

Third time on this ship

So this is my sixth cruise, fourth cruise on Carnival and third time on the Splendor. I chose this itinerary because I love Aruba and wanted to see what Curacao was like. Grand Turk has become so commercialized. The locals are selling their own beach rentals in front of the cruise umbrellas and you can't see the beach. We did a fun extreme zip lining in the Dom, Rep. and frankly unless I was at ...

Took a Carnival Cruise in 2014 in the Eastern Caribbean and have cruised about 5 times. So we decided to go again on Carnival Splendor to Southern Caribbean. Although my wife and I have a good time, a number of issues on the cruise occurred. The ship was not in the best of shape. Things such as tiles falling off all around the swimming pool to the TV never working correctly occurred on the ...

Very Good Overall With Some Minor Issues

This was our 6th cruise overall and the 5th on Carnival, but our first in about 3 years. This was also our first cruise with our daughter (who just turned 2). It was also our first "group" Carnival cruise - there were 11 of us. Overall we had a great time but there were some minor issues. We don't use Carnival for excursions - we book our own. We had a great time in Grand Turk and Curacao, ...

I am a little late getting this review up. We sailed on the Splendor out of Fort Lauderdale on Aug. 5th. It was an 8 day with stops in Grand Turk, Aruba, Curacao, and La Romana, D.R. We flew down the night before from Cincinnati and stayed at a Hilton the had 24 hr airport pickup. We didn't land till 11pm. The next morning we took and uber over to the port with no problems. We did have to ...

I choose this cruise because I liked the ports it would visit and I wasn't disappointed. As soon as I arrived, my room was ready and we changed and went straight to the Lido deck to eat and enjoy the pool. My 6 year old son LOVED the kids camp, and I enjoyed it most... because it allowed me some adult time alone. The staff was wonderful... but some people stood out to me. Rosario from the fun shop ...

Fun ship but outdated

My family and I chose to go on the Splendor because of the itinerary (Southern Caribbean). Let me start off with this, My family and I are Gold members with Carnival and we have also cruised on Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line countless times so we are not new to cruising. The ship is outdated and is missing most of the attractions of newer Carnival ships. They weren't kidding when they ...

Southern Caribbean Cruise

Let me start by saying this cruise didn’t go as originally planned because 3 days before sailing I severely dislocated my right knee cap playing softball. Thankfully I was still able to sail but with crutches and a wheelchair - two accessories I would have rather not had. I had a great time anyway – just a slightly different great time than I had been planning on for the last year. Because of ...
