Loved the itinerary, did not love the ship
"Faster to the Fun: We did not use this for embarkation because we arrived later than planned. However, very glad we purchased this when standing in line for Guest Services and debarkation. Ship: The Carnival..."Read More

17th Carnival Cruise May Be the Last

This was our 19th cruise and 17th with Carnival. We have cruised two other cruise lines and always enjoyed Carnival much more than the others. The last couple cruises we were surprised to see some changes that involved the removal of things that we liked about Carnival and unfortunately we saw more of the same on this cruise. We are loyal platinum members and are really starting to wonder if ...

We chose this trip because it fit into our schedule and for no other reason. It was a premium week and the prices were jacked up as it is everywhere. Having traveled on Carnival before we had some idea of what to expect. Nothing high end, but clean and most of the employees are very hard workers. The designers were extravagantly awful. Terrible colors and lots of odd choices. It looked like ...

We selected this cruise because we got a fabulous rate, no one was going to be home for Christmas, and Carnival has been my cruise line of choice for a variety of reasons. The ship is showing the need for some renovation, but it's in generally fine shape. The food is always enjoyable (I'm always amazed by people who complain about cruise food--how do they really eat at home? Who serves them? ...

The cruise director was great. Food wasn't good, and there were very limited options. If you're happy with hot dogs, hamburgers and pizza, then you'll like this cruise. Entertainment was average at best. We had great ports and fantastic weather, so overall we enjoyed our time. Loved Antigua and Grand Turk. But onboard things could have been better. You have to walk past the casino to get to the ...

We just got off the Carnival Splendor today, and have what I would call a mixed review. First, the cruise director, MarQ, was excellent. He had a high level of enthusiasm and was an excellent speaker. He is funny, and did a great job entertaining the passengers. Second, the ports were excellent. We stopped in Nassau, Antigua, St. Kitts, San Juan, and Grand Turk. Third, the ship was very kid ...

We have cruised with Carnival 4 times now, on the Ecstasy, Freedom Miracle, now Splendor. Once on Holland America and once with Princess. The Embarkation was one of the easiest yet. We chose this cruise because of the ports to be visited and we love to cruise. The ship it self is ok, may be in need or a make over. The Lido restaurant was just fine a lot of variety and very good ...

Several friends decided to take this cruise, as a way to get away and have a good time together. Overall it was a good cruise. however there were a few things that could be improved on. 1. the Muster drill, they had everyone stand out on the deck in 95 degree heat for over 45 mins. while they were looking for one person. I have taken several other crises and they would have you meet in the ...

We chose this cruise based on the dates we were available to travel as well as the port convenience. We were highly disappointed in the food and entertainment. The comedians were terrible and simply vulgar. The piano bar pianist was usually drunk and hitting on women and cursing like a sailor. We sat in there for 45 min one night and never heard a song. The onstage performers were lacking ...

I have cruised on a Carnival over 8x, once on Norwegian and once on Royal Caribbean. That being said, Carnival has diminished its services in a lot of areas. We boarded out of Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale. We had purchased Faster to the Fun so we could board early, have our luggage expedited, have priority tender at Halfmoon Cay, & to bypass the lines at the Customer a Service Desk. ...

This was an average Carnival cruise. Have recently started sailing Carnival again after a few years on another line. The quality and cuts are noticeable. Embarkation with staggered check in was a disaster, first time with it and waited on line longer than without (1.5 hours outside in the sun). Food was average and just barely warm in the Main Dining Room. Our servers never once got the entire ...
