1-10 of 10 Alaska Carnival Splendor Alaska Cruise Reviews
I am a 60 year old male who travels solo. I booked this cruise from Seattle to Australia because it was close to where I live plus the itinerary was interesting and the cruise was still on COVID pricing. I was hesitant to go even up to the final day of embarkation because of all the negative reviews I read. I am so glad I went!!! I found the negative reviews were completely erroneous. If the ...
Fifth cruise with their company(Carnival, Princess, Holland America) in past seven years. Will never cruise with any of them again. Changed our itinerary without notice causing difficulty for friends who travelled 900 miles to meet us at the omitted port. If they would have advised us of a change in itinerary, we could have cancelled our cruise or our friends could have made different ...
Carnival Splendor Alaska
June 28- July 5, 2022
This was our 3rd attempt at a honeymoon cruise since the pandemic started. We booked this cruise to Alaska because it stopped at Skagway that had the train excursion. After our vacation dates were approved and set, we were notified that the port of calls had changed and we were no longer stopping there.
I then started the process with ...
Carnival has gone downhill since our last cruise with them in 2007.
The food was nothing special and the portions were small. You now have to pay for cabin food service.
The entertainment was blah, lip-synced dance reviews. In 2007 we had live bands and real singers.
Lido buffet has country-based themes daily but no published schedule. Had food that I still talk about today on 2007 ...
We chose this cruise because we've cruised with you guy's before and had agreat experienc.so we tried it again but this time is was not as exciting on the ship as the last time the entertain you guys had were very boring i expected to go out and have a good time and dancing like the other cruise that is way we pick it again but that wasn't even open .they played nothingbut. Trivia most of the ...
We chose this cruise because we wanted to go to Alaska, we booked in 2019 and of course it was canceled. Once we got it rescheduled at some point Carnival decided to change the ship and the itinerary, they removed the stop in Skagway and they changed the ship to the splendor. Splendor was a difficult ship to navigate. Once we got use to the layout we were ok. I’m gonna be comparing this ...
This cruise was our 50th anniversary celebration that included family members for a group of 10. Two disappointments before sailing--Icy Strait Point substituted for Skagway and a ship change that altered the staterooms we had painstakingly selected.
The Cruise Critic ship review is accurate--decor overwhelming to the point of tacky. Otherwise, Splendor is pleasant enough. Grandkids enjoyed ...
This was our fifth cruise - third on Carnival and one each on Princess and Norwegian. It was our second time to Alaska, having previously completed an Alaska cruise tour on Princess. This was by far the worst cruising experience we have had, mainly due to illness and terrible food (poor food handling and preparation).
The good:
Great price, ship at only 2/3 capacity, awesome weather, some ...
This was the Carnival Splendor's second Alaska (and first seven-day) itinerary of 2022. The ship was inactive during the pandemic and is great shape now as it returns to service. I have done this itinerary multiple times before -- on RCI, NCL, Celebrity, and once years ago on the Carnival Tropicale. The service on the Splendor lives up to all of them, and the Carnival price is by far the best ...
This was my 3rd cruise to Alaska and first roundtrip from Seattle. I booked after receiving a great offer on a solo rate when this ship was moved from Australia to Alaska. This was the first sailing for the ship in 2 years and despite a few issues (late clarification on required testing & ArriveCAN and spotty internet for the first day or so), it was a great cruise. Alaska never fails to impress. ...
