My husband and I live in San Diego and thought this 5 day trip to Cabo would be great and super convenient...and it was!
We left on Sunday and arrived for embark at 2:00 pm. We were scheduled to leave at 4:00 pm. The process went very smooth, couldn't have been more than 20 mins max. We had our docs and passport in hand and went right to the check in then on to the ship.
Our room was ready ...
This was my first-ever cruise.
As of writing this review, I've now gone on a couple more cruises, both with Carnival, and looking back, the 5 day Baja Mexico cruise was a perfect little get-away. The ship was clean, and comfortable. The room was clean and just exactly what you'd expect from a cruise ship room.
The shows on this ship were particularly good. The cast and crew were very ...
We had a good time on this cruise - not a spectacular time, but a good and relaxing time.
We were aboard the Spirit for this same cruise last September and had a wonderful time. After learning the Spirit is moving to Australia later this year, we decided to repeat the cruise. We purchased future cruise certificates while on board and received a great rate from our PVP so we booked this cruise ...
This was our first cruise on Carnival. We'd heard a lot of horror stories about the line, but were intrigued by the price difference. The old addage, "you get what you pay for," held true, but as long as you adjust your expectations, you it was a good value for the money.
We arrived in San Diego at about 1:30 for a 4:00 sailing. It took us about an hour and a half to get on board. We had to ...
Intro - My girlfriend and I were feeling the need for a vacation back at Christmas time. Got on good old Travelocity and saw a decent deal for the Feb 4 sailing to Mexico on the Spirit. Carnival is the only line I've ever been on and I've done her sister ship, The Pride, a couple of times. I really do like the layout of the ship compared to others I've been on.
So we bided our time and ...
Carnival Spirit, 5 nights, Feb. 12-17, 2012 sailed from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas. A friend and I shared a super cheap cabin category 1A, inside. Cabin 1255 is the same size and shape as more expensive interior cabins. As this was just a quick cruise, the cabin was fine though I always prefer a balcony.
The cabin location worked out well, we had quick access to the elevator aft, and also to ...
Embarkation (1/1/11)
We drove to the ship from Las Vegas and stayed at the San Pedro Doubletree. They let you park for the week as part of a room package and deliver you in their van to and from the pier. Tip the driver, who works very hard at getting you close to the curbside porters. My only complaint was that the porters seemed overwhelmed and you do not get a claim check for your ...
Particulars: My family joining me to celebrate my birthday included Me, DW, DD(5) and DS(8), also adult niece, nephew and wife, and sister.
Since only my niece has cruised previously, when my wife said she wanted to get my family together for my birthday, a cruise wasn't the first thing I thought of. I wanted to get together somewhere warm over the holiday period rather than the chilly places ...
I have taken only one other cruise - the first was with Holland America through the Mediterranean in 2009. That was the cruise of a lifetime so any comparison is unfair but unavoidable. I traveled with my 62 year old mother. We shared a stateroom on the first floor - called the "Riveria".
The ship holds about 2400 passengers but never felt crowded. The activities weren't exactly my cup of ...
Booked this cruise for family visit -- one relative in LA and one was cruise staff. Flew to LA a day early and stayed at the San Pedro Inn & Suites, which was very economical, very satisfactory, and quite close to the San Pedro pier. Took complimentary hotel shuttle at noon to the pier, and were aboard by about 1 p.m., having the benefit of VIP treatment.
Really enjoyed the look and feel of the ...
