Chose this cruise because it didn’t involve going to an airport. Easy embarkation for my 77 year old mum. Driven straight to the door of the ship. However on disembarkation private cars were not allowed on the pier. Wasn’t informed there was a shuttle bus until after my mum had walked 700 metres. Good to know for future cruises. Whatever you do, don’t miss the 88 keys show. The lead male ...

We took this cruise because it was departing from Melbourne...……..the ship itself is old and the décor is dark.... our stateroom was very comfortable and the housekeeping men were fabulous and friendly nothing was to much trouble for them'. The food in the buffet was poor meat was tough, chicken tough and fish over cooked. pizza was average, Mexican excellent, sandwich bar great, burgers ...

I chose Carnival cruise because it was a family fun holiday ship. Overall cruise was great. Ship was great. Staff were great. Entertainment was fantastic. Art auctions were great. Food was fine and at times great. Grumps and don't bother with: Don't pay for the priority boarding. You get on the ship fast enough when you first board and when you disembark. As for propriety boarding on ...

Good cruise because of other passengers but lacking in some ways

We joined the ship in sydney as part of a bigger trip from the UK visiting friends. Along with another couple from Australia we were advised at the port on embarkation day that we would not be stopping at Mare (our first port) due to a technical issue which meant the ship had to stay anchored to fix the problem. We were not impressed as this now meant a 10 day cruise only had 3 ports! Bizarely ...

Carnival Spirit Christmas Cruise 18-30 Dec 2019 South Pacific

As a 59-60-year old couple we were not the target market for this cruise which is families with children. For many this is their annual holiday. Even so we still enjoyed ourselves. The ship itself is looking a bit dated now having launched in 2001. There have been refurbishments however the theme and cabin interiors are looking tired. We opted for ‘Your Time Dining’. On the first and second ...

We cruise a fair bit and usually cruise for itinerary, so have cruised over ten differing lines, however we booked this cruise (2nd cruise on Carnival and the Spirit) due to the fantastic price for a suite and wanting a getaway. The ship is the usual décor for a carnival ship, which is loud. Unfortunately there was loudness in volume everywhere as well. The ceiling seemed low, and floors had ...

Carnival are now offering alcohol drink packages on Australian cruises. They cost $119.00 per day. DO NOT purchase one. My husband and I purchased one and found that we would have been better off to pay as you go. There was no value in the package, we would of saved ourselves a lot of money without this package. We had no problems getting drinks from the Pool Bar but the first night I went to the ...

Best time of year to cruise Pacific Islands

First time on Carnival cruises. Not disappointed at all. Rated excellent for service, entertainment and cleanliness. Every stop was on time.Weather was great (August) and that's the best time to visit these islands with lower temps and humidity. Only onboard on top decks we need some extra warmth. Could not fault staterooms with excellent stewards. A good surprise was the Carnival Hub app that ...

First cruise...won’t be the last

Booked this cruise for a family of four (2 adults and 2 kids aged 12 & 14) to celebrate my 50th birthday. We’d never cruised before so we weren’t at all sure what to expect, but loved the idea of Island hopping whilst taking the hotel with you. The Spirit really is a unique experience. From the wild mix of decor to the excellent crew and entertainment, it really is a great and at times ...

Decided to find out why Australia loves cruises so much at the moment. So, we took the plunge and went on our first cruise. Would it be our last? Overview: We booked on a “special” offered by Carnival. As it turned out we seemed to have got a great deal as our special turned out to be an upgraded room and also instant Carnival Red Status (this may have been as we called Carnival to ask a few ...
