The crew made the trip

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Spirit

We choose this cruise specifically for the destination, we didnt disagree with the captian changing the destination based on safety concerns with the weather but dont feel we were sufficiently conspensated for that change as a cruise to freeport would have been much cheaper. With that being said you make the best of things but the crew and fellow cruisers made the trip for us every one was so ...

Beautiful little ship

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Carnival Spirit

We chose this cruise for our first time to Alaska. Many activities and shows everyday. We went to all the music shows, game shows, and some of the comedy shows. Beautiful small ship even though it's older. I would give 5 stars but the Lido dining is a nightmare. Not enough room to sit at breakfast or lunch. During the Tracy Arm Fjord Day, some passengers got up early and planted themselves at the ...

Much better than I expected based on the reviews

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Carnival Spirit

The Spirit is an older ship and a smaller ship than the new ships being produced these days. I enjoyed the ship and never felt like I was living in the past. The decor in places is odd, to say the least, but something I got over in about 10 minutes. The only places it really was obvious was the main theatre done in an Egyptian motif and an inside walkway/lounge around the front of the ship that ...

We to cruise in early Dec to relax between the holidays. This cruise was a quiet and peaceful trip as they normally are for us this time of year. Food was good everywhere we ate and we enjoyed the new to us Chopsticks. Only one slow night in MDR, first formal night, which can be expected. The service was good everywhere onboard esp. our stateroom attendant . Only complaint we heard was about the ...

First cruise after Covid was a learning experience

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Spirit

Itinerary, excursions and service were wonderful. The cruise was worth every penny but there were some issues. Cruises on carnival in the past featured high quality food and great social times in the main dining room. Post Covid, apparently very few people sit with other guests in the main dining room. Best food, therefore, was being offered in the buffet, steakhouse, chefs table, blue ...

We decided on this cruise because it was going to Puerto Rico (one of our favorites) and we had never been to Grand Turk. We enjoyed our wait and housekeeping staff as they were all very friendly and helpful. Very much enjoyed the rock shows and the getaway island show. Comedians were so/so. Movie nights were nice with a great selection of movies. The one thing that really bothered us is they ...

Chose this cruise because it didn’t involve going to an airport. Easy embarkation for my 77 year old mum. Driven straight to the door of the ship. However on disembarkation private cars were not allowed on the pier. Wasn’t informed there was a shuttle bus until after my mum had walked 700 metres. Good to know for future cruises. Whatever you do, don’t miss the 88 keys show. The lead male ...

We took this cruise because it was departing from Melbourne...……..the ship itself is old and the décor is dark.... our stateroom was very comfortable and the housekeeping men were fabulous and friendly nothing was to much trouble for them'. The food in the buffet was poor meat was tough, chicken tough and fish over cooked. pizza was average, Mexican excellent, sandwich bar great, burgers ...

All good for first cruise - will go with Carnival again but would change things

I chose Carnival cruise because it was a family fun holiday ship. Overall cruise was great. Ship was great. Staff were great. Entertainment was fantastic. Art auctions were great. Food was fine and at times great. Grumps and don't bother with: Don't pay for the priority boarding. You get on the ship fast enough when you first board and when you disembark. As for propriety boarding on ...

Good cruise because of other passengers but lacking in some ways

We joined the ship in sydney as part of a bigger trip from the UK visiting friends. Along with another couple from Australia we were advised at the port on embarkation day that we would not be stopping at Mare (our first port) due to a technical issue which meant the ship had to stay anchored to fix the problem. We were not impressed as this now meant a 10 day cruise only had 3 ports! Bizarely ...
