1. The crew were fantastic, Rai looked after our cabin really well and kept it nice and clean, Deck 9 Marian and Sukra were awesome, Marian was always flat out cleaning up and Sukra was very attentive in brining me drinks. 2. Cabin was a bit squishy in 1132 and hard for my mother to access with a disability and the wheel chair didn't fit. 3. The ship was beautiful. 4. The food on deck 9 was not the greatest, dry for the best over cooked and not hot. Emporer dinning was restaurant quality food and the staff were awesome. 5. The Island's were beautiful, I really loved Isle of Pines and Mystery Island, Villa was great shopping and even better duty free. 6. Alcohol was far to expansive, didn't really impress me much and internet well over priced. 7. Overall not to bad and I did have a ball Read Less

2nd time cruiser with carnival. No complaints here. Great value for money. Staff are more than happy to accomadate passenger needs with a smile. Food was prepared, made & cooked daily, entertainment was adequate. Giving a variety of options each night. Plenty of activities to keep anyone occupied during the day no matter the weather. Cocktails were delish. Behind the fun tour I highly recommend, to see how it all works- laundry, kitchen, staff quarters, storage areas & the bridge ( meet the captain ) & more. Cleanliness was of high quality. Staff were consistantly present throughout the ship servicing rooms & cleaning. 1st cruise was with our children, kids club catered for them sufficiently & they loved swimming in the pool & spa. 2nd cruise was myself, husband, a friend his son, nephew & friends who are married. Loads of laughs, good times & memories made. If had the opportunity we would travel with Carnival again. Well done Carnival Tanya & James Read Less

I choose this cruise Because of the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff .Far supérieur than of have met on all cruises l have been. Stewards are amazing at remembering everyone’s names. Due to cancelled flight, didn’t get a chance to explore Sydney . Embarking was easy, we opted for the take bags off ship 7am get ready in area to dis embark.. Easy was directed up lift to awaiting taxis. We had issues with the balcony door not closing properly ./fridge very noisy / and paint fumes . All of these issues were taken seriously and address promptly , ,! We opted for dinner at the Nouveau restaurant first night and were again given first class treatment . The meat melts in your mouth and is heavenly. Disappointed by the fake offer of free wine first night,, apparently per table Not per person.false advertising l believed.!. So my partner sat at another table . We still could talk and got our free wine as well which was not the best but 2 glasses in it was drinkable.. The punchline comedy club was great with great A plus comedians and R rated. Shows Also :The Marriage show was a scream .so funny and r rated l think and plenty of activities and entertainment for children to play games .Guess who l am and build a tower taking middle and blocks out .The Empire Room was used for dinning every evening and we loved the happy family vibes that the staff gave out . The matridi and singers at show time / dinner time was great entertainment .We did some ship booked excursions but it was easy to book off ship at some places. Ship at Noumena has a bus that takes and return s people to the ship . Drops off along the waters edge and a walk to shops and large information centre to view assortment of other tours . Traveling with another cabin buddy who was very pleasant and considerate ,we had a fun time all up . I plan to go back but not happy they are moving to Brisbane. Last thing was the entertainment same old shows but new actors Unsure if that is common for a yr or a certain time span. For frequent travellers it’s a bit boring but the new actors singers put their version of the show into a different light . Read Less

This was our first cruise and we chose Carnival because of the price and that it covered our birthdays. Our trip started well with the shuttle from the airport it was easy to use,( they found us) quick and our luggage was well taken care of at the port. Our cabin was a pleasant surprise comfortable and very clean. Later we found it to be well appointed. We sailed out of Sydney and the views from the ship were outstanding. We used most of the dining options, and enjoyed all of them. The Empire being our favourite not just because of the great food, but because of Dessi and her marvelous team who not only feed us each night but entertained us. Our waiter Godfrey sand and danced for us each night. We enjoyed the Red Frog Pub and again our waiter Eka gave us personal attention. The stops at the islands were wonderful, some with not a lot of touristy things which was nice. Our cabin stewards Turi and Andi keep our cabin in very good order and went out of their way to help us celebrate our birthdays with messages in colour pens on the mirrors. We found that all the staff we came in contact with remembered our names and made us feel like we were special. Lastly the young people who put on all the shows, Wow what talent. The comedy club, very entertaining. We travelled from Adelaide to join the ship, We are a couple late 60's and early 70's. We disembarked with ease, no rush, shuttle to the airport in time for our flight. Would we do it again...........in a heart beat. Thank you Carnival. Read Less

This was our first cruise. The ship is HUGE and luxurious. There were over 2,000 passengers on board, and over 900 staff, so the staff:passenger ratio is excellent. You rarely ever felt crowded. There are plenty of great areas for adults to chill during the day, such as the Serenity area for 18+ with lounges, pool, spa, bar, and couches and chairs. There is also so much variety of bars, cafe, restaurants, seating areas, even a library, games room, chapel, games room, shops, casino, pools and water slides. There are specific kids and teenagers areas and activities so families with kids are well catered for. We never felt over run with kids, and everyone was relaxed and happy. The 2 story gym, spa, massage, sauna and health area is phenomenal, as is the sidebar the 2 story theatre and large separate comedy club. The 3 best places to eat are the Empire Restaurant, Bonsai Japanese restaurant and Nouveau restaurant. First Class!! Sensational service and quality of the food. The Lido deck serves a large variety of buffet food in a more casual, family environment, but this can get noisy and crowded. The quality of service of the housekeeping staff is just TOP CLASS, not only did they service the room twice a day, they even left artistic towel sculptures in the room in the shape of various animals, and the attention to detail with regard to cleanliness is excellent. You don't get this level of care and attention in any 5 star hotel! Our room steward Nyoman from Indonesia is a star! The cabin (we had a stateroom with balcony) was modern, spacious and stylish. Josh, the cruise director was a bundle of energy, casual, enthusiastic but always informative. The award for the best bar goes to the Alchemy Bar staffed by the competent and super professional, friendly staff of Nicola, Miro and Helena. They really mix the most magical taste sensations. Some downsides? The satellite internet is expensive, slow and unreliable. Our ship had an engine fault so we were delayed 8 hours on return to Sydney. We also missed the Isle of Pines shire excursion due to high waves/swell. For any Australians used to good quality espresso, lattes, flat whites etc., you will definitely not find them on this ship. Carnival should employ Australian-trained Batista's, because the quality of coffee was mediocre at best. For every other aspect of this holiday cruise, if you want a pampered holiday, excellent quality and variety of food and top class facilities and entertainment, Carnival Spirit is HIGHLY recommended! Thanks to all the staff and everyone else involved with in and around the Carnival Spirit. My friend and I had the most relaxing, but busy if we wanted to be trip. Everything is very well organized and nothing seemed to be of any trouble . Embarkation and Disembarkation on and off the ship at all ports run like clock work but in a very relaxed manner. Every night you new what was on for the next day, as it was left on your bed when the staff had prepared your room for the night. Plenty of activities to keep all ages busy. Plenty of food and also nice cold drinking water with plenty of ice. Plenty of coffee machines with fancy one's at the coffee shop, which was reasonable priced. Dining was easy at all places, and the service was great. Great Gym, Slides, staff amazing in all areas, even the Pool towel service was easy. Well done. Be proud of what you do for everyone on board. Read Less

The Carnival Spirit is a fantastic Cruise Ship. This was my first time cruising as an adult (mid 20s) and had previously been on cruise ships as a child. My partner and I enjoyed our time on the cruise ship and will definitely be back again. The aim of our cruise was to relax as well as have fun. Afterall, it was the NYE cruise. We always had something to do (we did spend a lot of time relaxing on a deck chair or reading. We enjoyed the trivia session as well as the comedy shows. We had an inside cabin which was serviced twice a day with the infamous towel animals. The steward and his crew were super friendly and attentive. Food was very good. A couple of times I did send something back, but I really didn't have too many complaints. We participated in the Chefs Table event where you are served 10-12 courses. It was one of the best experiences of my life. It started with champagne and a tour of the galley. This provided us an insight into how many 1000s of meals are served of a night and you truly appreciate the hard work that the chefs and table waiters put in! We didn't choose any tours through Carnival as I always do my research before holidays and choose something to do that isn't listed on the suggested itinerary. Something to be aware of. Boat tenders. Just relax. The first 1 or 2 ports, people line up forever trying to get their sticker to get on shore. We were one of the very last and we didn't get to shore until midday in Mare. But as long as we got the last bus to the beach, it did not bother us. Something I think Carnival may need to review, but I assume this occurs on a lot of cruises. I utilised the fitness facilities on a daily basis and they are great. I wish there were more free weights and a larger space for these as I don't like to use machines but thats my personal preference. Read Less

We have three children, 4, 8 and 11. They had fun with all the activities on board, mainly the water park and pools but enjoyed their time in camp carnival. But it wasn't all about the kids. My husband and myself had so much fun in the Lido deck having a drink or two, or spa or swim. The barman "Widga" was spot on and always happy to see us. At night we were able to eat with our family then go out and enjoy whatever we were in the mood to do. From dancing and singing to watching a show with or without the family. With so much to do, it was hard to go to bed early. However it was so nice to go to the room at the end of the day to be greeted by our fun and cheeky room steward "Putu" who could not do enough for us. Our rooms were like classy motel rooms and were more then appropriate for our family. The only thing that made me cross was the people that winged about silly things like a plate left at the end of their table. It was evident to see just how hard all the staff were working to please us and most of the time they were laughing and really enjoying their job. If all cruises are like this one, I will be going a lot more often. With or without the kids. Just have to enjoy yourself because in the end, it's what you make of it! Read Less

Firstly I would like to point out that this is our 20th cruise, (7th Christmas cruises) but first time with Carnival. We were both looking forward to sailing on the Spirit as we were informed that it was higher star rating then the Princess Line and Royal Caribbean, but this is not the case -Too many out of control children as it appears no restriction on number of children on board and no curfew time .Parents need to be more responsible for their whereabouts. Parents just let there children run wild. If you are a family then this is the cruise ship for you. We reported to security about the behaviour of the children on board twice, in one case I was in the gym and witness young children indecently exposing themselves through the window above the spa in front of people that were using the spa. It appeared there was underage drinking on board, as we seen on numerous nights teenagers affected by alcohol which we also reported to security. -No enforcement of passengers using sensitizer in the buffet and restaurant areas -No staff in buffet area worn gloves in handling food -Dress code in Restaurant was not enforced, e.g.; shorts, thongs (other cruise ships at night makes you feel like you are in a different world. -Although not everyone is a smoker, (but I do) there was restricted areas that you were allowed to smoke, Deck 9 & 10 fwd (Deck 10 is open area so no good if raining or windy, Deck 9 is in pool area with children around) Other cruise liners you have promanade deck, I felt I was always at the back of the boat and had to go up to the front of the ship to enjoy a smoke.
