It took a few days to get used to all the people (have been living in Alice Springs for 10 years) but once we got into the swing of where to go and what to do, we had a great time. We joined the ship in sydney as part of a bigger trip from the UK visiting friends. Along with another couple from Australia we were advised at the port on embarkation day that we would not be stopping at Mare (our first port) due to a technical issue which meant the ship had to stay anchored to fix the problem. Our group consisted of an 82 yo, 60 yo, 56 yo, and 2 x 14 yo. We had 2 cabins. Embarkation was straight forward with no problems. Muster was a shambles. Carnival are now offering alcohol drink packages on Australian cruises. They cost $119.00 per day. DO NOT purchase one. My husband and I purchased one and found that we would have been better off to pay as you go. There was no value in the package, we would of saved ourselves a lot of money without this package.
