My wife and I travelled on the Carnival Sensation on February 4 to February 9. It was a great experience as we truly enjoyed the beauty and the nature of the Caribbean along with great staff and their outstanding service! Our cruise included two ports of calls. One was in Jamaica, where we purchased a trip to the Mystic Mountain. Another stop was at the Grand Cayman. Both places were great to visit and spend a day. Both days at the sea were also full of memorable moments. Entertainment, unforgettable views, and pleasant ship amenities created a great experience. Spacial thanks to our restaurant serving crew. Throughout the cruise we were dining in Ecstasy Restaurant. Our table 361 was taken care by waiters Yevgen A, Leonardo H, and Catalina T. Their attentive, fast, and professional service made our vacation even more enjoyable! I will definitely recommend this cruise to my friends. Vladimir S. Read Less

I chose this cruise for the destination: Cozumel, as well as the price. Embarkation was smooth, disembarkation was not smooth. I monitored my account via Carnival Hub. The night before disembark, I had money, and was expecting return to be mailed to me. When attempting to leave ship, I was re-routed saying I owed balance. After reviewing detailed summary, I found several discrepancies on bill. The ship is aged, and despite attempts to update, poor maintenance is evident. The deck was uninviting, in need of paint and repair. The fake palm trees are faded by the sun. THE FOOD IS HORRIBLE. The best meal was off ship. The food reminded me of hospital cafeteria food. I lost weight on the cruise. Shore excursions were plentiful, with a nice variety. I traveled with my husband , our 2 adult daughters, as well as 2 granddaughters. The kids camp was nice. The first night on the ship, after we sailed from Miami, I enquired about the process to end cruise when we arrived in the Key West. I was told each traveler would have to pay 300.00 to end cruise; that would have been 2100.00 for our party of 7, plus airfare. We stayed. At times I felt like a hostage, in hell. I would never sail this ship again, not even for free. I certainly would not recommend. Read Less

My husband and I surprised our 3 kids with this cruise. My cousin and her husband and 2 kids also took the cruise. This was their first cruise, as well as our own kids first cruise. It started out with leaving port 2 hours late as we were told they were waiting for people. We went to the elevators to our staterooms, and immediately were hit with the smell of sewage...the odor lasted the entire trip and on every level of the ship next to the room elevators. 2 of the 6 elevators did not work, causing guests to have to wait and upwards of 10 minutes to get on an elevator. When we entered our stateroom we noticed that our bathroom floor had been patched with a bright blue tape like material. No hot water to shower. The bathroom outlets did not work and the bathroom was not equipped with a hair dryer as most bathrooms are. I called and they sent a hair dryer to us though. Our first port to Nassau was uneventful...Our second port was carnivals own Half Moon Cay port...this port was beautiful. We had planned an excursion which we found out was cancelled upon getting on the Island. We were disappointed but due to the weather it was necessary and we were fine with hanging out on the beautiful beach....When we boarded the ship in the afternoon, the captain reported the weather in the Grand Turks (our next and final port) was a bit rough and overcast. We had a REALLy rough night..the waves were rocking boat pretty good. My cousin and her family all were Sea sick even after using motion patches and pills. Again, this happens to some...We got up the next morning and at 11am the captain came on and stated due to the weather and for he safety of the guest and crew they would not port at Grand Turks and there was no other viable ports so we would be have 2 days at sea. Of course we were disappointed...but what we couldn't understand was why would you risk your guests and crew to travel to an area you know the day before was poor weather. Why couldnt we have just stayed at Half Moon Cay..stayed and extra day there instead of 1000+ people being put at risk in the rough waters...We saw so many people fall and be sick. Again, I know the weather was not the fault of Carnival, but the poor planning and condition of the ship was an issue....The water in the pool had been tossed out so only about 3 foot of water remained on Thursday...they didn't refill it till Friday afternoon. The ship had little to do except drink and gamble. All of the kids activities/clubs either never opened the entire cruise or were not what was advertised...the water park for the young kids was actually turned off...so all of these people on a ship 1 small pool half empty, drinking..angry about being stuck for 2 days on rough water....it was a bad situation to say the least. Needless to say when we got into port in Miami to get off the ship,..It was a free for all...Everyone wanted off and the zone assignments for disembarkation went out the window....it was scary!!! I have cruised before and this cruise and ship was absolutely a nightmare...The ship was old, outdated, poorly maintained....the food was so so....a lot of the same food every day. The 1 show that was planned for the cruise was great. The Crew tried their best...I had 1 incident during debarkation during the caos...I looked at my husband and asked where do we go and a crew member yelled "OUT"!!! I called Carnival today to file a complaint and was told Thanks for the info....WHAT????? I will not use Carnival again...simply because of the lake of concern for our experience. My kids couldnt wait to get back to school...that should say it all....My cousin and her family will not cruise again....Very disappointed and discouraged..... Read Less

We had a great time at the both ports. I read a lot being the first cruise and decided to go to private beach at lucaya. still cheaper than a excursion and did the whole Atlantis deal the next day. It was amazing! The ship was nice even though its older I could not tell. We seen bigger ships but ours was just fine. The entertainment was fine no problems there and got pressured into the picture deal but hey its the first cruise got to do it. The food was hit and miss, i was not a big fan of the buffet or the main dining room. formal night they had a good menu but most nights were like eating microwave meals. If i would make one recomendation i would not pick flex dining, we had a different waitor every night and it was pretty rough. we even walked out the last night due to poor service and poor food. We sent back steaks every night most were raw not even close to medium. the stateroom was better than everyone stated. I found it ok, i never spent much time there and we took turns getting ready at night so it all works. i would try another cruise line next time just saying Read Less
