Carnival's web site, both before and after our cruise stated that parking was $17 a day at Long Beach, CA. However, parking was $19 a day. For long cruises, this could impact your choice of transportation. It should take less time to update a web site than to update signage and automation at the parking structure. In addition, we arrived early, and could only find parking on the top floor of the parking structure. We did not see any other reasonable options for parking. Good luck. We cruised on the Carnival splendor. The decor was the worst of any ship on any line that we have ever experienced. Decks 3 and 4 have no access from one end of the ship to the other, so one is far too frequently going to the other end of the ship to use just the right elevator to reach your destination. The only good ship's map was in the Carnival Hub app on my iPhone. We never found a single good printed map. However, if your iPhone is set to the wrong time zone, the Hub app will give you the wrong time of day while claiming to be a good reference for the time -- beware. Entertainment was good (with nice costumes for the ladies) provided that you liked music from the 80's -- each and every show had music from the 80's. Food was good, and our wait staff in the main dining room was superb (especially Stanislava from Bulgaria). For a ship with over 3,000 passengers, embarkation and disembarkation was well done. The cruise director, MarQ, did a great job of setting up and handling disembarkation, so we knew progress and could remain comfortably seated until we could get off Read Less

had the most day at sea for short cruise the ship is over all clean but it needs to be redone. The cabin sofa and chair need replaces old . Balcony needs complete remake floors , windows rails dirty rooms and public rooms all outdated. The food is awful they need a better quality of food on the daily portion of the menu chicken breast in a frozen chicken breast grill, awful. The breads at dinner main dinning room are to die for.The service we had in the pairs dinning room 1st seating table was great. Most everyone was helpful .I don't think I will not go on this ship again it was not one of my most fun and I have gone out of new Orleans twice and this will be my final time it is not the greatest port and the weather in feb is almost always bad cold or rainy.overall I give it a 3 stars Read Less

First time cruisers. Everyone one said we would love it. You would if you like crass decor, overpriced drinks, second rate entertainment, hoards of people - mostly overweight, small swimming pools and buffet dinning that is just an excuse for a pigs trough. The only redeeming features were the Truffles dinning room with excellent dinner service and the Noveau restaurant ($45 extra). Very hard to find quiet areas to read a book as you have constant piped music everywhere or entertainers screeching down microphones. It was a shame that wine or other alcohol was banned from being taken on board as drink prices were very high, giving the cruise line of a mark up of over 1000% The decor was totally over the top and nauseating, although Americans would love it. The crew generally were a delight and friendly, more so the Asians rather than the East Europeans Having said that, we did enjoy the relaxation on being on the water. Read Less

Got a great last minute cruise deal on the Victory way to cheap to turn down. Downside was the cabin 1a upper lower 1201. Bottom of the ship first cabin starboard side. Looked around on cruise critic for pixs of the cabin saw none so I took few posted below. This cabin is a porthole cabin so have a limited ocean view. The cabin is very quiet only when pulling into port and front thrusters are right under you so be prepared for early wake up on port days. Other then that very quiet no vibration or noise of any kind. I slept in upper and had room steward put it up during the day. Surprisingly comfortable some of the best night sleeps ever on board. Room big enough for second bed not sure why they don't have on but allows for much better space during the day. The only thing I found unusual was the bathroom floor being all plastic was spongy. I assume the glue holding it down has come loose but still solid once you step on it. The shower drain for some reason appears to be in the wrong corner for tray fills up in back but does drain without over flowing into rest of bath. We just took our foot after shower directed water to drain then threw the towels down in shower afterwards not a big deal to us. Now climbing in the bunk not for the old and frail especially with ship swaying in the water. I had no issue but if you have trouble moving around this would not be the room for you. The Victory herself is a very small ship or maybe I just got use to bigger ones. Walk one end to the other is nothing. She shows a lot of aging but kept in very good shape by an excellent crew and staff. Still had lots of things going on to keep you busy and kinda like the smaller ship. You into speciality restaurants and ton of outdoor activities not so much on this ship. Shows outstanding as usual but still Carnival thinks louder is better and way too loud. I take out my hearing aids and still too loud. The comedians had us crying laughing totally awesome. Even the the R rated shows which are sometimes to nasty with every other word the F word much more tasteful and more true to life. Both excellent and you'll love them as well. The food and service are excellent according to MDR crew 2nd best in the Carnival fleet. I must agree they did outstanding job speed, accuracy, taste and temperature of food perfect. I still love the Flat Iron steak very tasty and not tough or filled with grizzle like some other cruise lines. Wife had to have her chocolate lava cake as usual when on Carnival and did not disappoint. Our waiters Damireux and Sishui not sure about the spelling probably wrong think they pronounced it as Day-mar and Seesh but both did an outstanding job. The buffet food very good as well but Guys burgers one of our favorites for lunch. The new deli was also nice touch. Long lines for buffet especially in morning on port days but you'll find you go to back of ship in the pizza pirate and the fish place they will make your eggs the way you want and have most of the same things with small line or none at all. We set the bar low for this cruise for the price of $50/day for both of us and OBC would have to be terrible for us not to be happy. I must say this was much better cruise then our MSC cruise on larger beautiful boat but lacked the service and quality of the Victory and much more expensive. All in all this cruise set the bar high for the next cruise in September. No complaints what so ever and CCL went out of their way to make everyone cruise a pleasant experience. Hope to get another chance to cruise her again if the price is right of course. Read Less

This was an excellent time for a Caribbean Cruise. Last year we did the same cruise, same ship, but this spa suite was three doors aft of the previous year. Special occasions again! -- Celebrated Birthdays and Wedding Anniversary! Dining was, so so. In other words not up to par. Menu choices in the MDR were not that great. The shrimp in the Shrimp Cocktail have shrunk to about a inch and a half including the tail. The Lobster Tail was on the verge of being over cooked. The Prime Rib was ---- ok. In the Lido Buffet the Menu choices were ---- well, naaaa Breakfast: Oatmeal got cold before you got to the table and would not melt butter. Bacon was not done. The omelets were wonderful! Lunch and Dinner: Too many Italian dishes. No meat substitutes ( Cottage Cheese and Fruit, Tofu, etc..) Roasts were over cooked, Ham was under cooked. Slim selection of vegetables. Deserts were fair. Guys Burgers --------- Best food on the ship!!!!! The entertainment was fabulous. The Cruise Director -- Schwartz was fabulous!!! Very entertaining. Don't miss all of the Lip Sync Battle, 3 or 4 different things going on Service was ok. Shore excursions were wonderful. The Mayan ball game in Cozumel with .lunch was very entertaining, Cayman by Land and Sea - a repeat excursion, Turtle farm, Hell, and the half submersible boat viewing the aquatic life was enjoyable. Due to the problems in Jamaica, we stayed on the ship. Already thinking on booking next cruise! Read Less

This was my second cruise with Carnival, and we had a great time as expected. The service was outstanding. Most of all we want to give a shout out to several crew members: Thuthisa and Sanja-servers in the Saphire dining room, Glenn-server at the Red Frog Pub, and Arnata-our cabin host. These folks truly made our trip such a delight; we will deeply miss seeing them, and we will cherish all the memories of the laughs we shared night after night. I am not a big snob about decor so we can sum it up as clean and beautiful. The food was good. We stuck to eating mostly in the dining room, but we also tried Guy's burgers a few times, and we have no complaints. Carnival ships are all about having fun, and they do a great job of giving you the opportunity to stay engaged. As far as the cruise ports... I hated Jamicia. The Montego Bay port runs a racket for duping tourists. We asked for a cab to take us to Doctors Cove and were shown to a small bus that charged 7.00. Once on the bus and driving, we were informed that we would not be going to Doctors Cove. Instead, they were offering for 11.00 more than the 14.00 fair to a souvenir shop and back, they would take us all around to several places so that we can experience Jamicia to the fullest and we would also go to a "much more beautiful" beach than the crowded tourist destinations. At this point, you were already stuck paying 14.00, so it didn't sound so bad. What ended up happening was we stopped at a shop with a bunch of crap made in China, drove halfway up a driveway and looked at a former plantation house (but we never went up to the house), sat in a hot, crowded bus as we went through a part of town that was not safe for tourists, and ended up at a beach that we had to pay 5.00 each to get in and had broken glass everywhere and garbage strewn about. I highly recommend you book a cruise excursion. You've been warned. The Cayman Islands If you like to shop, this place is for you, but the island dollar is worth more than USD so prepare to pay a bit more for your souvenirs. The snorkeling part of our Pirate Boat excursion was canceled due to high winds, but we made the most of the open bar and had a good time nonetheless. Cozumel We had the most fun here. The locals are friendly, there is a lot of stuff to explore around the ports, and we booked a private excursion of horseback riding for over two hours through the jungle and to Mayan ruins. I can't wait to revisit Cozumel. Overall, I have no complaints about the ship or Carnival Cruise lines. As for the ports, we should have booked more excursions. Lesson learned. Read Less

This cruise replaced my cruise out of San Juan that was canceled due to the hurricanes. I am a 74 y.o. female, frequent cruiser, traveling alone. I was very disappointed in the food and the service in the dining room and on the Lido deck. Food was served cold, small portions, tables not clean on the Lido deck buffets, and I had a couple of waiters in the dining room that forced another table mate to rely on the maitre 'd to resolve her problems. I had a comment made to me when I ordered 2 entrees because they were very small. My crab cake the last night as an appetizer was about the size of silver dollar and was served on cole slaw!! It looked burned. I actually told several first time cruisers not to rate Carnival on the basis of this ship. Carnival usually has excellent service and sufficient amounts of food, buffet tables are clean, etc. Anika, the assistant waiter, worked her butt off; she carried the heavy trays of food and made sure we had water and bread. My room steward also was first class. Read Less

This was our second time on the Glory and to almost the same places. We picked it as a Christmas gift to ourselves and mostly just to relax and enjoy the ocean. In our 30 years of cruising this was the first time we had rain days. Embarkation was easy, and we were onboard by 11:30 and eating lunch after dropping our carry on in the cabin and getting our key card from the mailbox. Met our stewardess Gemma in the hall and told her she only needed to do the evening service and to get us ice. Although the cabin was across the hall from the room with the ice machine so anytime we needed it someone was there. We had cabin 9267, a balcony room. It was what we expected and although there is some noise from atrium, it usually stopped by 11:30 and wasn't that bad. We had stops at Grand Cayman, Roatan, Belize and Cozumel. It rained while in Roatan but we had no excursion planned there and it stopped long enough for me to go shopping. In Cayman we did a Nautilus Undersea Adventure and it was cool. It's a boat with glass windows all around and you could see fish, wrecks and coral reefs, we enjoyed it. In Belize we did a sight seeing tour that was okay, Belize is a very poor country but full of proud people. We have been to Cozumel many times but did the Discover Mexico tour and it was very interesting and well worth the 20.00 it cost. Disembarkation was a little long, about a half hour delayed due to customs but we had a great porter take our luggage out and were home by 10:00. Lovely trip. The ship was in good shape, food was good, you won't starve. water in our cabin was too hot but would go again in a flash. Read Less

We decided to go on this cruise since we invited to a wedding .My wife and I have been on mutliple cruises with Royal Carribean (Allure and Oasis of the Seas) and also previously on .a Carnival Cruise out of Port Canaveral. We left out of Port Tampa. Parking was easy, right across the street. We were lucky to board the ship early for the wedding. The staff was very nice. We had a balcony room on Deck 11. The maid service was excellent and attentive. The room needs updating and the bed was OK, not real comfortable. Once you go on a Rpyal Caribbean cruise, I guess we are spoiled. So I will try to be objective. The first day out to sea, the boat was rocking and rolling due to higher than usual seas. We were told one of the stabilizers was not working on the ship, thus the rough ride. Thank goodness we don't get seasick, but a number of others did. The food choices were limited, the first night we ate at the buffet and it was lousy. The rest of the trip we ate on deck 8 at My time dining (Elation) . The food was definitely much better and the staff was excellent. We recommend the My time dining option, you can go anytime from 5:30 till 9:30 PM, and the food was excellent and made to order from the menu. The choice of shows was ? No choice. We saw one 80's type of production ,it was 50 minutes long, and I must say, even the singing sucked. Sorry. The casino was good to us, both me and my wife won money just playing slot machines. The key is, when you win on a machine, cash out and go play something else, don't ever sit there and put your winning back in the same machine, you WILL lose.We spent time on the pool deck because we smoke, did not go into the small pools or two small hottubs. The hottubs were always filled with the same people and kids. If you like to drink, get a drink package, I brought my own...lol , but if they catch you they will confiscate your alcohol when you are boarding. Cozumel was just OK, been there a few times. If this is a first time cruise, it may be OK for you. For us, if we go on another cruise, it will be on a much larger boat like a Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas. Much better quality and more choices. Read Less

This was a Christmas Present and although I wouldn't have picked the date (1/25 thru 1/29), because of the weather, the cruise was for relaxing - exactly what my husband and I needed. The seas weren't as calm as I would have preferred and there wasn't sunshine on our trip to Cozumel, but our Stateroom (6385) was very nice with enough room to move around, a balcony and a very comfortable bed (King). There was a variety of things to do besides sitting in the sun, so when we weren't resting, we had plenty to do. Room service was also very good and the waiting time was never a long wait. Anything we needed from Coffee to towels to a late snack , was brought with a smile. We decided before the cruise not to have a special dining time, so opt for the buffet instead. Breakfast and lunch gave us lots of options, but after the first nite decided to eat in Dining Room - Anytime Dining, which didn't give us as many choices as the buffet area, but the food was much better for dinner and was included in the price of the cruise. Our Service Team was EXCELLENT (Koten, Suteja and Wutty) and so we ate at their station every nite. There were several choices for dinner and everything we ate was delicious. I ordered a steak the last nite and it was cooked to perfection. We couldn't have asked for a better staff and we enjoyed visiting with each of them. Getting on and off the ship did not take long and we will definitely travel with this Cruise Lline again. Read Less
