Carnival Rome (Civitavecchia) Cruise Reviews

Great meeting this guy, humble and transparent. He just knows what he's doing. As I said,if He is not your cruise activity director, just ask for a refund lol. He's that good.

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Carnival Freedom

Embarkation: Very organized and easy! Had our fun pass in hand and we were on the ship and in our cabin within 10 minutes of arriving at the "tent." We landed in Rome at 10am and had been traveling for 24 hours from SLC, UT, so we purchased the Carnival transfer from the ship before hand (grossly overpriced at $75 dollars a person) because we just wanted to get to the ship when we landed. The ...

This was our seventh cruise with Carnival, the last being on the Spirit through the Panama Canal. We are a couple in our mid 40's. We flew into Rome a few days early and stayed at a downtown B&B, the Nicolas Inn http://www.nicolasinn.com/ This place was wonderful; great rooms, helpful owners and conveniently located near the Colosseum. They arranged transportation from the airport and to the ...

You know where I'm coming from by the title. If you liked the Carnival Freedom on the 10/28 transatlantic, you won't like this review. We booked our tour a tour company which was very reasonably priced, and although their excursions didn't always work out as planned, we thought they were a decent value. That may have been the problem with this cruise. It was priced reasonably enough that travel ...

This was the 4th cruise for my wife Denise and I, the 3rd on Carnival. We were travelling with our friend Tom, and Denise's mother. We took the cruise in celebration of both my wife's and Tom's 50th birthdays, both of which would occur during this cruise. Just as background information, I'm 50 years old also, and somewhat mobility impaired -- I don't use a wheelchair, but I walk with a cane, and I ...

WESTERN MEDITERRANEAN. My sister and I.. both from Arizona..both in our 60s.. decided to do Rome and the Mediterranean Cruise pretty much on our own. How foolishly naive. Arrived in Rome on Friday and sailed on Tuesday October 16. I have cruised on Regent, Crystal, Celebrity and Carnival, 7 in all. My sister is a travel agent and has done more than she can remember. We chose the cruise because ...

Arrived at Fiumicino Airport in Rome as part of the Carnival cruise air package. Having been to Italy before, was not surprised at the utter confusion at the airport. Transported by bus to the port and waited at least one hour at embarkation facility before the Carnival staff arrived. There again confusion reigned. The actual embarkation processing was painless and soon we were aboard the ship. A ...

Transatlantic -Carnival Freedom - October 28 - November 11, 2007 Overall, this was a wonderful cruise on the Freedom. This was my fourth cruise, but the first time on a Carnival ship (in the past I've cruised with Holland America). I was travelling "solo", however, it was nice to meet many wonderful people (a number of whom were Cruise Critic members). THE SHIP: The Freedom was a huge ship. ...

As a first time cruiser, I researched cruise critic and trip advisor and found great tips. 1. I used Roma Shuttle service for transportation from downtown Rome to Civitavecchia and from the dock back to Rome. They were very reliable and reasonable. WWW.ROMASHUTTLE.COM 2. The Cruise was very clean with a lot of good activities. The food was excellent and the service was very good. Go to the ...

Carnival Freedom 9/10/07 Grand Mediterranean About us: mid 50's, retired and semiretired professionals. 30th cruise, 7th on Carnival, 1st on Freedom. Not terribly fussy. Travelled with a younger couple 32 & 42. Pre-cruise. Flew KLM which was our first with them and a refreshing trip compared to our usual American and Delta. I would easily choose KLM again over other lines. Arrived in Rome 2 ...
