Carnival Rome (Civitavecchia) Cruise Reviews

Great meeting this guy, humble and transparent. He just knows what he's doing. As I said,if He is not your cruise activity director, just ask for a refund lol. He's that good.

We arrived in Rome on Sept.23 same day as the cruise. We got off the plane at 6:30 a.m. Went through customs, got our luggage. By 9:00 we were on a bus to The Vatican. We did the Holy Rome Tour offered by Carnival. It was good, but we were very tired after the long flight. Next time would fly in the day before. We arrived at the ship at 5:00. It think it took 15 min. until we were on board. ...

We and another couple chose the 9/23 sailing of the Splendor to celebrate our wedding anniversaries. (It was our 25th & their 30th.) The ship - I must say that there was too much pink. As others have said, very "Miami Beach" / "Art Deco" and I will add - "PeptoBismal". As overwhelming as it was on the first day, it became less offensive as time went on. The retractable roof on the Lido deck was a ...

We have been back from our Carnival Freedom cruise of the Western Med for 1 week. And what a great trip it was. We arrived in Rome 2 days early and stayed at Residenza Cellini near Termini Station. I have nothing but good things to say about it. The staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. They arranged transportation for us from the airport to the hotel and then from the hotel to Civitavecchia ...

We had a 12 day cruise out of Rome and embarkation was fairly easy since i had entered most of the information online as requested, and we arrived late afternoon. We had 5 days in Rome previous to the cruise, had a great time so were a little disappointed by our cruise. Like others, i found the overindulgence in 'pink' to be somewhat offputting! The shops onboard had a good variety but ...

Our first day in Rome. We stayed at the Visconti hotel which was close to everything. As long as everything is loads and loads of walking. We visited the Trevi fountain, and other main sites in Rome. Dinner that night was at Alla Rampa restaurant. A great find that my sister recommended and satisfies even the most fastidious tastes. It has been there for more than 40 years. It is situated ...

My husband, parents and I flew in to Rome via Charlotte,Detroit, Amsterdam on Northwest/KLM airlines. Sister airlines but KLM was the best, no complaints there. Very attentive to passenger needs. Every flight on time. We stayed 3 nights at Anne's Place, a small B&B on the outskirts of Rome in Palestrina. David picked us up from the airport and they also delivered us to the cruise port hassle ...

Traveled with my husband and child. The ship decor was to busy and pink. Not elegant, we did not feel we were in a GRAND ship or a new one TOO BUSY. The SHIP not spotless everywhere. I don't know if anyone else noticed but the cleaning crew needed to pay attention also to the dusting in the cabin and shelves. Also there was dust and dirt near the windows at the seating area at the Lido and ...

We stayed at the Hotel Visconti prior to our cruise. The buses are not able to go down the streets where the hotel is located therefore, you have to walk approximately 3 blocks to the hotel. This is difficult for the elderly or anyone with disabilities. The hotel is located in a residential area. The hotel is clean, staff professional but the street area is dirty and plenty of graffiti. There is ...

We used Carnival for our transfer from the airport to the ship with no problems. Check in was fast, within minutes we were exploring the ship. The dEcor was very loud like many people have written but our cabin was very nice. We had a window and had plenty of room. We were on the port side (left) which was good but I think the right side might be better for some views when pulling into a port. ...

Hotel Mozart, Rome, for 3 nights, then Carnival Freedom 14 August, 2008 This cruise, our 3rd Mediterranean voyage, in successive years, was for me, my wife Rosy and 16 yr old son, Luke. We left home at 20.30 on Sunday for the 2 hr drive to London Heathrow. We had a good journey, in quite busy traffic, but found our hotel easily. We stayed at the Sheraton Skyline, where we have stayed before. ...
