Why Carnival? Why?

Review for a Cruise to Nowhere Cruise on Carnival Splendor

I have been cruising and loyal to Carnival for years now. Mainly because of the great service, fun times and awesome prices. Carnival Splendor changed my perception of Carnival completely. Where do I begin? *It took 2.5 hours standing and waiting in the HOT sun just to board the ship. *We were provided luggage tags only to find out that they were not checking luggage. (would have been nice ...

This is our 5th cruise with Carnival and it will probably be our last. Sad to say because the Cruises to Nowhere fit our schedule as well as our budget. I'm not the type of person to complain if there weren't any chocolates left on my pillow or anything like that so take this as an honest review. We received an email that they are trying something new---staggered check-in and to arrive between ...

I always try to go on a yearly Carnival cruise to nowhere when they have it out of NYC. For years it was on the Miracle and every one was great except the last one in 2011 where the crew so obviously didn't give a sh.. it soured me a bit on Carnival. Last year they skipped this cruise for the first time in years but brought it back this year with the Glory. I am certainly glad they did. this time ...

This was our 4th CTN with 2 very recent ones on NCL Jewel and Gem, and Carnival Victory a few years back. Our 2 NCL CTN's were in the Winter, so this was a nice change taking a CTN in August as we spent the entire 2nd day at sea in the sun. Was very hard to find a lounge chair to sun due to the beautiful sunny weather and literally all 3,000 passengers were out there. Lets get the meat and ...

Just returned from a 2 Day Cruise to No Where with my DH and my niece. DH and I are seasoned cruisers and have been on Royal and NCL. We are now legal guardians to my 13 year old niece so sharing a vacation and a cabin with a child is new to us so we thought a 2 day cruise would be perfect way to try it out. Love leaving out of Manhattan. Coming from CT its a pleasant drive. Because we left early ...

We just came back from another 2 night cruise to nowhere on the Carnival Glory. Arrived at the port by 10:30am and was on the ship by 11:10am and followed everyone to the buffet area. Unlike the last time we did this the buffet area had plenty of seating and the lunch buffet was very good. We had no complaints. The deli part of it was actually very good. After lunch we took a spa tour and I ...

Our cruise was a 2 night cruise to nowhere out of Norfolk, Virginia. Travelers were my 12 year old daughter and I. It took us just about 2 hours from the time we arrived at the port until we were actually on the ship. We arrived at the port, and were directed to parking- which was a drive away (close to 2 miles away), and parking was $15/day. We finally found it, following the instructions ...

Cabin 2484 Cruise to Nowwhere

Just a short review as it was a short cruise. Carnival does the weekend "Cruise to Nowhere" out of Norfolk to round out the Glory' weekly calendar during it's Caribbean season (the ship goes up to Boston/Canada for the summer starting in June). The wife and I got a last minute deal on Cabin 2483, which is an ocean view at the very aft end of the ship. Two remarks for those trying to choose what ...

First time cruising....I'll be back.

Embarkation: Couldn't ask for anything better. It is a shame the port in Norfolk is so underutilized, it is a nice place, we got through security and checked in quickly and were on the ship by right before noon after arriving at 10:15am. Dining: For something fast and quick Guys Burgers, Blue Iguana and the pizza place were all great. The Steakhouse is an absolute must if you are a foodie and ...

This was my eighth Carnival cruise, taken solely to help me achieve Platinum status this summer. I talked 4-5 people who were on the boat for the same reason. Positives - Blue Iguana Cantina (breakfast and lunch), Guy's Burger Joint, and the opposing bars on deck. Very cool setup that no other cruise line has. The burgers and burritos very good compared to typical buffet fare. The combination ...
