Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Carnival Pride

Background: We sailed on January 4th. We're veteran cruisers. We've sailed on 2 other Carnival ships, as well as Norwegian and Royal Caribbean. We'd done some reading ahead of time, so we were looking forward to sailing on one of Carnival's larger ships. It seems to us like Carnival went out of their way to make this cruise totally forgettable... Having cruised Carnival several times before, ...

We sailed on the 21st of September to the Mexican Riviera. We had always stayed away from Carnival from on our cruises because of their reputation of poor service. Well I can now say that I agree with those who have made those comments before. The ship was very ornate and had some beautiful areas on it but it was not a warm comfortable ship that some of the other cruise lines have. We have ...

Arrived at Long Beach around 1215 and was on the ship in about an hour. Remember large bags go to the porters. A lot of people were told they were "OK" by the security guards, that are clueless and then ended up having to leave the long line and walk back to the porters and get back in line from the start. If your suitcase does not fit in your standard airport x-ray machine GO TO THE PORTERS!!! do ...

I have cruised twice before, both on Royal Caribbean. After hearing many good reviews of Carnival and the new Spirit class ships, I was excited for my first Carnival service. Unfortunately it was so disappointing! Our first room steward we never met. He ended up being reassigned to another area of the ship and replaced by a second steward, who was slightly more attentive. The first steward was ...

Embarking at Long Beach was a fiasco. We had to stand in a line in the parking garage to check our large luggage. The line was long and wasn't moving yet we could see the tractors carting off loads of luggage to the ship. The problem was with people getting dropped off either by friends, limos, etc. and they were cutting to the front of the line. My husband and another man in front of us went up ...

This was my dream cruise. For months I have waited and on October 31, 2004, I took from Atlanta. It took about 4 hours from the time that I stood in line to embark on the Carnival Pride. Reason given: surprise inspection. Very weak excuse. Surprise inspections are nothing new. One would think that they would have handled it better. The had us wait outside. The line was long. The sun was hot. I was ...

I have traveled on many Cruise ships and Lines. I will never again travel with Carnival. Embarkation took two hours. For some reason; they closed our lines and neglected to re-open them until an irate cruiser loudly suggested that they do so. Our cabin was okay, I always enjoy a balcony. Then the fun began. The sewage odor was unbearable. There were a couple of attempts to correct this. All of ...

Not a good experience. I would not sail Carnival again. On the good side, we were upgraded to a suite on the ship and received VIP check-in through the skipper's club, after that the trip fell apart. To begin with, we wanted to watch the NFL playoff game once on board the ship, however, the bartender at the sports bar wanted to watch college basketball and refused to change the channel for us - ...

Okay, so I wasnt expecting Tijuana on a boat for this vacation, however I sure got it! I went on this cruise with another friend and right upon walking into the port, we were welcomed by ghetto-ness. It was 11:00 a.m. and as we were walking toward the entrance, we were greeted at by a nasty, unfriendly port employee who yelled, What do you think you are doing? We explained we were going to ...
