Burn out ... and what Riviera?

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Carnival Pride

This is my first review and second ever cruise. So here goes: Carnival Pride, set out from Long Beach, Los Angeles in late January 2009, right around the Chinese New Year. CABIN At first we grouched about being on deck 7, assuming more spacious accommodations on deck 8, but realized we didn't have to deal with the band music and lawn chairs moved about every day on Lido deck. It was spacious, ...

This cruise was meant for our father. 3 generations on one ship at one time is a miracle but we did it. On Nov 28 we started our trip to Winnipeg Manitoba( a 2 hour car ride on the highway). We got in to the city and went to the Comfort Inn for the night. It is a nice hotel nothing special, free shuttle to and from the airport and continental breakfast.IN the morning we took the shuttle to the ...

Ugly Decor

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Carnival Pride

After many cruises on various cruise lines, this was my first Carnival cruise. The decor on this ship is horrendous. The Taj Mahal lounge is possibly the ugliest entertainment venue I've ever been in on a cruise. The colors do not coordinate and its just ugly, that's all I can say and be somewhat nice. The Mermaid Grille is also very ostentatious and while the colors do coordinate, the large ...

Disappointing cruise on Carnival Pride

My wife and I are veterans of five previous cruises. Our cruise experience isn't huge, but we do have enough to measure quality of experience. Our previous cruises have taken us to the Caribbean (twice), Alaska, New England-Maritime Canada, and PNW. One reason we settled on this cruise to the so-called Mexican Riviera is because it's a major cruise venue that we hadn't experienced before. ...

On and off the ship were a snap, customs easiest ever this trip. As a frequent cruiser having been on about 15 cruises different cruises, NCL, RCL, Princess, and Cunard. I've been on Carnival before, this exact itinerary and wasn't thrilled but thought I'd give it another chance as the price was right and it was a celebration for my fiancee's birthday. For all around service we prefer ...

As a fan of cruising and a frequent researcher / reader of cruise critic boards, I thought it only right that my wife and I provide detailed feedback from our cruise for others to consider / benefit. To level set, let me introduce ourselves. Both my wife and I are in our late 30's and we live in Atlanta Georgia. I am a manager in the technology field and a bit of a work-a-holic. My wife is a home ...

My family of 4 took the Carnival Pride cruise on June 8th, 2008. Based on our party of 4 to a room our travel agent advised us only certain rooms had enough beds. We booked an extended balcony room on the 7th deck. We liked the fact that we could put all 4 of our suitcases under the king bed and still have plenty of closet space for our clothes. The stateroom service was outstanding and deserving ...

Carnival Pride - Mexican Riviera

I just got off the Carnival Pride on Sunday, October 14, 2007. I am a past passenger on Carnival and had always had a great time. I was quite disappointed with this cruise. The ship was not up to Carnival's standards. I don't know if this is because it's away from the watchful eye of corporate. There were holes in the wood trim, the braiding in the elevators was ripped and the outside of the ship ...

Carnival Pride - Mexican Riviera

This review is from the perspective of a first-time cruiser. We arrived at the San Pedro port about 10 am (having arrived from Arizona the day before) and checked in early at the Queen Mary and were told to go through the Zone 1 line when it formed. The Carnival employees at the Queen Mary were nice and helpful. It felt good to get rid of our luggage. We still had 2 tote bags. In retrospect, I ...

I just returned from a 7-day cruise on the Carnival Pride to the Mexican Rivera (ports: Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas.) I'm 53 years old, my wife is in her early 40's and my daughter is 7. With us were my parents, both in their 80's. This was my 6th cruise, all pretty spread out over a lot of time. But I did cruise on the Princess line Grand Princess ship to the Caribbean just ...
