1-10 of 13 Carnival Pride Cruise Reviews for Fitness to the Panama Canal & Central America
I did two connected cruises, first a Panama Canal Transit and second a full ship charter with Bare Necessities Tour and Travel to the Western Caribbean. The Pride has been refurbished, mainly public area's. Fitness centre is very good, light and modern now. I love the size of the ship. It can hold approx 2000 guests and that is just OK for me. Big enough for the entertainment and small enough for ...
It is always good to be a sea. Here are a few things I wish I knew on this cruise.
PARKING. Its been a few years (and maybe 40 cruises ago) we sailed out of Tampa. Thankfully we were close enough to drive. Frankly it is a bit confusing because the lots near the ship are not ship parking, they are for the aquarium. Do not attempt to park near the ship. The ship parking is a 4 story ...
Strange behavior from my room steward…???!!! First, For some reason he thinks I need 10 rolls of toilet paper at any given time. Second, he got angry that the tucked my top sheet in under the mattress at the foot of the bed, so now he only provides a top sheet that goes as far as my waist, making it impossible to tuck in properly. If I tucked it in it would go from the foot of the bed to my knees. ...
My wife and I characterize ourselves as seasoned cruisers having been on over 15 of them over the years. We took a few years off but now that we retired, we're back at sea.
The cruise left Tampa on a Saturday and arrived back eight days later on a Sunday. We had taken advantage of a great casino promo code linked to our VIFP accounts and got an obstructed view balcony and a fair amount of ...
We chose this cruise as going to the Panama Canal was on my bucket list. My great grandfather had actually worked building the original canal and I wanted to experience it for myself. There were 4 of us adults in an extended balcony cabin on deck 7. The cabin itself was fine; plenty of storage for the 4 of us as I have come to expect with a Carnival ship. There were some dents and scratches ...
We spent a 13 days on the Carnival Pride January 2017 and had a great time.
Embarkation day - we always try to purchase faster to the fun. We had it for this cruise and we did get on the ship faster than most. We arrived at our designated time. This is the first time though that we had to wait in the port to board. Our luggage was supposed to be in our room but did not arrive until just ...
The ports were great and the way itinerary between ports and sea days was wonderful. I usually get exhausted trying to do 3-4 days straight of visiting ports. Whom ever planned this cruse should be doing more like this one.
I enjoyed the ports and the Panama Canal was very interesting. The excursion offer a variety of options but some port do not offer for those with mobility issues.
The ...
Cruised before on the Pride, usually doing the Eastern Caribbean. The ship is a medium size ship that hold approximately 2,700 passengers. The ship was renovated in 2014 with Carnivals 2.0 upgrades. The older art that was on the ship was replaced with a more modern try of décor. Guys burger join, Iguana cantina, Red frog bar, Alcoy bar and a sushi restaurant were added. The ship was clean and ...
When we decided to go to the Panama Canal (bucket list thing) Carnival didn't have an itinerary that included the canal so we booked on another line. When we saw that the Pride would be making the trip, we changed our reservations for three families to Carnival. We are Carnival people! The staff on the pride were GREAT!. Really enjoyed the extra things that come with a "Journeys" cruise like ...
This was our fifth time on the Pride and was grateful for the changes from the "same old thing".
Embarkation in Tampa was a breeze! Many folks ignore recommendations and insist on arriving at the pier at 930-10am and then get annoyed when they have to wait to board. We arrived around 1230pm and was on the ship within 25-30 minutes. We walked right on after getting our s&s cards....no line ...
