The Trip:
Now that our kids are grown, my wife and I prefer cruising in late August/early September for several reasons - not the least of which is to take advantage of back-to-school while its still warm enough to swim and enjoy the sun. This year was no different, and we knew the risk of booking during hurricane season - despite the fact that we'd been lucky over the previous 4 cruises and ...
David's steakhouse is the best! Room Steward (Domingo) was awesome! The Pride sailing to Bermuda, what could be better-our favorite ship sailing to our favorite island!!!!!! We loved the Max to the 80's show-WOW, great entertainment. Coffee bar is awesome, day and night. Would definitely like the tablecloths back on the tables EVERY NIGHT. We don't like our silver ware to be placed directly ...
we have been on the carnival pride before, and we like the size; not too-too big(but still managed to get lost from time to time).
cruise was smooth. even tho waves were high a few times. we had an extended balcony 7199 on deck 7. good central location for going down to dinner on deck 3, up to buffet/lounging on decks 9 and 10.
sat at late dining at table for 8 all new to each other. ...
We live in Western PA - almost to Ohio. This is our second time cruising out of Baltimore. Last time was the late debarkation when Hurricane Irene hit Baltimore head on in 2011. We drove down the night before and stayed at the Hyatt right inside the Inner Harbor. The Inner Harbor is nice, but if you've never been, just keep your wits about you. There are panhandlers, beggars and others that ...
I would recommend this destination to anyone wanting a change in venue. Bermuda was a nice change from island hopping! It was nice to see the nightlife for a change. Thanks to Ricky's Island Tours we saw everything of interest on the island and learned a great deal about the culture and history and it was half the price that Carnival wanted for an island tour. Embarkation was a bit distressing ...
My husband and I cruised out of Baltimore on the Pride to Bermuda on July 2nd. This was our second time on this ship, but it previously hadn't had the 2.0 upgrades. The ship has changed some, but most of the Renaissance decor is the same. The ship was definitely kept clean.
I enjoyed most of the food, especially Guy's burgers and dinner in David's Steakhouse. We chose to do My Time Dining. We ...
One of the reasons I booked a cruise from Baltimore was to "sail" down the Chesapeake Bay but since this cruise was delayed by 7 hours, it was dark when that part of the cruise finally happened.
I leave on the West Coast now but am from the DC area and missing that Bay experience was really disappointing. The reason for the delay was a "medical deviation" so I cannot fault Carnival since the ...
I will start with arriving at the Baltimore Port Parking Lot. Some of the workers were not happy to be at work and were less than helpful. Some of them were helpful and made up for the ones who weren't.
We were scheduled for the first check-in time and got through the line and were waiting until we were able to board. However, there was a police situation on 95 which forced the closure of ...
Due to another Carnival ship being in the harbor because of weather, our time in port was cut very short. We were allowed to disembark at 4 I wasn't off the ship til 4:15 and everything closed at 5. We never did get to the pink beach but saw a lovely beach right in town. I am not sure I'd go in Oct again. Wind was high at I don't balance well when seas are rough. None of this is Carnivals fault, ...
This is was our first cruise to Bermuda, first cruise on the Pride, my 4th Carnival cruise and the second for my DH. It was also our first from Baltimore. We are in our 50's and were really looking forward to spending 3 days in Bermuda. Unfortunately our cruise was delayed by 1 day, so our itinerary was cut short.
We arrived at the Baltimore Cruise Terminal around 9 am, unloaded our luggage, ...
