I have taken several cruises with Carnival and really wanted to do the Panama Canal. This may be my last cruise on Carnival, but it won’t be my last cruise. I am saddened because that means that I have to give up all my reward points, I am almost up to Platinum, but My disappointment in nearly every aspect of the cruise makes me sure that other companies can do it better.
The staff were ...
After taking a similar cruise a couple of years ago, I wanted to see the NEW Panama Canal. And I did, at least 3 locks and the lake in the middle. Other than that, this was not a good cruise.
Check-in has been streamlined at Galveston, but it is still somewhat confusing and some people who were scheduled to check in much later that we were actually got through faster than we did - although we ...
My husband and I have done a lot of cruising and I have never come across a ship that was so disorganized. Answers could not be provided by guest services to questions I had...it was the ship of "I don't knows". When asked who did know I got no positive response.
Embarkation was a disaster. I am handicapped and any of you who were on the ship for a long time would probably have seen me ...
This was our 1st time with Carnival. A group of 9 of us who have cruised before went together. We mainly chose Carnival because it went to Costa Rica and Panama. Normally we hit the islands. Overall the cruise was not bad, but here are some highs and some lows.
First off, the food in the dining room at night was the best we have ever had. Combine that with a fantastic wait staff all around ...
PROS:
Generally, one of the friendliest staffs we've ever encountered during many cruises. A few dinners in the main dining room that were very good. A cute little miniature golf course. Comfortable beds and decent room stewardship.
CONS:
Very long (1.5 hours) and uncomfortable (very hot) embarkation for the handicapped due to woefully inadequate numbers of staff. Regular passengers ...
The cruise was not great. Not as exciting as previous cruises, maybe the worst because of the smoking on board. Both regulated and unregulated. Worst was the Habana Bar. To get to the internet room you had to pass this bar that is located in a thorough way that allowed smoking and even encourages cigar smoking. Can you imagine if your child wanted to do some internet checking and had to go through ...
This was our second cruise with Carnival, the first being the same time of year (January) in 2010 aboard the Carnival Liberty. Our 17 and 12 year old children enjoyed the Liberty so much that they had looked forward to this cruise for months.
Things started out badly when we arrived at the port prior to 12 noon and the line was extended out around the building. Not a big deal to me. After an ...
I am said to say that the Carnival Freedom was not a very pleasant cruise. The design of the ship kept everyone bottleneck especially when dinner and the shows let out. Everything was right there on the fifth floor, all the bars the dance club the teenagers hangout the casino everything. The ship was not easy to navigate. the only floor that allowed you to get from end to the other were the ninth ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary Exotic Western Caribbean including Panama Canal, Costa Rica and Belize. There were two formal nights Monday and Friday. The shows were less than desirable. The two best nights for entertainment were the guest talent show and the final night of the cruise.
We were very disappointed in the fact that the majority of the cruisers were over the age of 70. Very ...
CRUISE FROM HELL !! 1st & last ever on Carnival !!! Our repositioning cruise from Hawaii to Vancouver started off on a bad note and then went downhill!
On embarkation, we found that our room's air conditioning was not working. Neither was our room safe. We called the purser's desk to advise them of the problems. The response was that someone would come to help. After waiting two hours, I went to ...
