Took cruise out of New York to Canada New England on the ship Venezia
Carnival cut back on food items on the buffet & in the dining room. (Bacon every other day--pan cakes every other day-French toast every other day etc.) Poor selection in the dining room as well, they scaled way back on menu options. No pie of any kind offered anywhere. A lot of cutbacks very disappointed.

We chose this cruise because we had been on Carnival in the past, though not since 2017. Back then it it was very good.
The pros: room with balcony was clean and well taken care of. The cleaning person did a good job and was very friendly, even remembered our names.
The cons: The buffet food was mediocre at best. There was no bacon or lox for example. There was no omelette making station. ...
I chose this cruise because of the itinerary and price for a balcony room. I cruised on Carnival before and it was not a bad experience. Also we had parked at the Manhattan cruise terminal before and the previous times there were porters on the pier were we parked to take your bags and check them. This time there was no one to check your bags with and I had to take them on an elevator to go ...
Worst cruise ever. Five million people and not enough room to walk around. Cabins are small and food sucks. Waited 5 years to get food from the buffet line. And the dinner places on board suck. It’s basically like paying for the buffet food just at a “restaurant”. A lot of the decks were smelly and so was the dining area. The decks were also very slippery. Don’t expect to get in a hot tub or pool ...
In summary: Too many guests on the ship, not enough staff, and riff raff clientele with no etiquette.
Embarkation times were long and a little disorganized coming out of Pier 88 in NYC. Debarkation was a disaster - we had a family of 4 in our group (with kids age 4 and 7) - it took them 2 hours to get off the boat because of gangway issues. One person in our group bought an expensive handbag ...
A rowboat from NYC to Bermuda is a better time. Captain accidentally mashes the intercom button once a day, which doesn’t instill confidence. Cruise director doesn’t want to direct—just wants to seem cute. Events and restaurants have no direction: to participate or eat, get physical. (You don’t want to, however. Meal choices are slime, mush, and rubber. Comedian helped me practice my pity laugh. ...
Let me start by saying I never write reviews. I’m a busy Mom of 4 and I just never have the time. That being said, this cruise was so horrifyingly awful that I’m taking the time to go out of my way and warn others. I had expected to experience a certain amount of inconvenience, knowing that the ship was new to Carnival, but decided to go ahead with my plans despite the reviews I had read. Allow me ...
This was my 4th Carnival cruise and 10th overall. I had 5 others traveling with me. 2 first time cruisers and 4 first time Carnival cruisers. I bragged about how fun Carnival was and how good the food was only to be disappointed.
The boarding process was disorganized which was the first nightmare. Because boarding was so late, we were able to go straight to our rooms. The wait for the ...
We originally booked on the Magic. The ship got changed to the Venezia. Which we thought was going to be great. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case. The ship is crowded and very small.
The food wasn’t great. The MDR is slow!!! We waited 2 hours for our dinner and left before dessert. Dishes laid on the table forever. The staff tried but it would seem there isn’t enough workers. ...
I just got off this cruise today and what a doozy. This was my first Carnival cruise, and officially my last. The ship was WAY too small for the number of passengers (4280). To begin, we arrived at the NYC Port and there was no one properly directing you to baggage drop off/the line to check in. People were NOT pleased. People in line for over an hour were told to get out and get back in line. ...
