We where apprehensive about sailing out of New York but wanted to try a new port and also new destinations. I must admit that the City is safer than the news tells you. We arrived a day early which is highly recommended. We took a cab to our Hotel and had dinner right across the street. It was a great meal and back in the room to get up early for the Ship the next morning. The weather was expected ...
Wanted to do a solo cruise and I treated myself to a Canadian cruise. The last time I was in the Maritime Provinces was 2001 on the CARNIVAL VICTORY (now RADIANCE) and wanted to see it again. My second Carnival cruise was on the CARNIVAL MAGIC in 2019. The layout of the MAGIC is similar to that of the VENEZIA. I bite the bullet with the single supplement always; I don't like sharing my cabins with ...
I'm not a Carnival cheerleader, but I do think Carnival can offer a decent value at times. That being said, this is my personal review for the Carnival Venezia sailing to Canada this September.
Embarkation - super simple. The hardest part about embarkation was trying to help our Lyft driver figure out where to drop us off at the terminal. Once we were dropped off, we were within our time ...
I had booked to sail on the Carnival Venezia while the conversion was being completed from a Costa ship. I liked that I could drive to the port in lieu of flying. While I saw some negative reviews during the 1st couple of sailing, I wasn't discouraged, as I've always enjoyed sailing on Carnival and was looking forward to sailing on the Venezia with the "Fun Italian Style" concept. While the night ...
This was our 11th cruise, and I have to say one of the best vacations! We walked to the NY pier from our hotel, and the embarkation process was very smooth and quick. The staff at the pier were very nice. Once aboard, we walked around the ship to get familiar with this ship. The decor was REALLY nice throughout the entire ship. You really felt like you were in Italy! During the cruise, the ...
This ship is quite different from other Ships. We loved the Italian theme. The Marco Polo dining room felt very intimate. Staff was great. The cruise director Joey was fantastic. Not a big fan of the smoking in the casino but they had a separate room for non smokers. The ports in Canada were really laid back. The weather was nice despite following a hurricane. Definitely not a cruise for getting ...
Took cruise out of New York to Canada New England on the ship Venezia
Carnival cut back on food items on the buffet & in the dining room. (Bacon every other day--pan cakes every other day-French toast every other day etc.) Poor selection in the dining room as well, they scaled way back on menu options. No pie of any kind offered anywhere. A lot of cutbacks very disappointed.

We chose this cruise for several reasons. First, we were interested in cruising on a new ship, or at least new to us. And second we chose because of the itinerary in hopes of seeing some of the fall foliage. So, let's first talk about the ship. It is different than any other Carnival ship we've been on. The Lido deck and main pool area is not at all set up for sun lounging or swimming. The ...
We took the Venezia to eastern Canada. The ship is very beautiful with a lot of Italian decor (golds). The elevators are an interesting technology. You enter the floor you wish to go to & it tells you which elevator to take. You arrive at your destination pretty quickly most of the time.
We had a fwd facing OV room that has a deck you have access to in the hallway. The space for putting your ...
Selected this cruise for the itinerary - ended up on the Venezia due to a ship swap.
Beginning was very rough - cabin assignment on swap did not align with what we'd paid for and hours on the phone did not resolve the issues. Eventually, we paid to upgrade (ugh - we already paid for the cabin on the original ship) one week and were able to get moved to same cabin for the 2nd week.
The ship ...
