My friend booked this cruise to celebrate my 50th birthday and it was fantastic! The ship was nice, our interior rooms larger than expected and very clean and comfortable. I am not sure why people criticise this cruise ship, we have been on Disney, Royal Carribean, Princess, Costa, MSC, NCL and Holland America and the ship compares favourably against all of these with the exception of Holland America which was our favourite. It is clean, well maintained, the crew are excellent, the entertainment was good, the food is pretty average but not imaginative.

Overall it was a great cruise, we had a great waiter Gusti in the Scarlet Lower Dining room table 525. The Maitra D was very nice also. Food was good. We booked this cruise as the most affordable option over the Holidays. Having sailed Disney and RC previously, was not sure what to expect with Carnival. We had a great time on our family of 6, 3 cabin Christmas Cruise to the Western Caribbean out of New Orleans. This was a great cruise, close to home and very affordable. On 12/11/16 Sunday morning we boarded the Dream immediately,by being VIP'S we walked right in with no line to the captains lounge after our security check in. total time 10 minutes and were in the captains lounge having refreshments, we waited in the lounge for about 2 hrs before we were allowed to board the ship.
