Before I cruised I read a lot of negative reviews but chose not to listen . What a dumb decision! I cruised in 2017 and it was great however this 11/15/18 cruise was just horrible. We made it on the ship our room was not ready . Went to dinner the waitress were rude (he came to the table and asked what do you want? After telling him he was rude he apologized and made small talk . . We didn’t go to dinner after that, We decided to try another restaurant, the same thing rude waitress so we decided to eat burgers everyday . We ordered coffee from room service they never came . The only cleaning they did was make the bed. We paid for alcohol and when we picked it up on the last day a box was missing so glad we checked . Went to hang out several times on the top deck only to find people smoking marijuana, we reported to the workers but nothing was done . The entertainment was ok , Cozumel was great but Triump cruise was horrible. We will NEVER cruise with them . Believe the reviews they are true . Read Less

First, the crew and staff of the ship are very friendly. Always received great service and felt welcome. Very nice room that was cleaned well. The food on the trip was average. Not terrible, not great. We met some very nice people on the ship from all over the country as well. We did experience some problems. We had neighbors that played music so loud, it was not a pleasant experience. Secondly, one night while pushing my wife in her wheelchair, a guy claimed i touched him and wanted to fight. We also noticed at night in the dining room, guys had jerseys on with the pants below their waste and ladies with their you know what hanging out of their shorts (Carnival, enforce dining room attire). Our door was knocked on 3 times looking for the party next door. I am not sure if it was the week we sailed, the port we sailed from or just bad luck. Our Carnival cruise in Alaska on the Legend was amazing. I will just say, be careful cruising from this port. embarkation= smooth parking = smooth anytime dining = smooth buffet area = not pleasant shore excursions = organized and variety Would i consider Carnival again, yes, never from New Orleans again. This ship is nicely laid out and I liked the earth tone decor, even if it is a bit dated. Food was okay. Dining room dinners were not great and they serve all the same food in the Lido each evening so if you want to skip dinner, you can eat the same food upstairs. The Lido buffet was the typical gluttonous mass of humanity that it usually is so I tried to avoid it as much as possible. Here are some options: Sandwich bar on Lido.- Very good but usually long lines. Wok bar on Lido- I was told it was very good, but I never was able to catch it without 20 people in line so I never ate there. Pasta Bar on Lido- Tried it twice. Couldn't eat it either time. Bland, over cooked pasta. Burger Bar at pool: Excellent. Best ship burgers we've had. Burrito Bar at pool: Okay. Edible, but not great. 24 hour pizza : Best I've had on any ship so don't miss out on this Sushi Bar: Best deal in the house. For a small extra cost, you can get awesome tempura rolls. They had a small menu, but everything was excellent and you can sit and be served like a civilized person. Pig Guy Pork: Only open on sea days and the line was always so long that I never tried it, but on the last day, I walked by just before closing time and was able to taste the pork and Mac and Cheese. It was okay, but I''m glad I never bothered to wait for it. I had 2 dining room meals and wasn't too impressed with either so I never went back and it takes a long time to get served. Breakfast in the dining room- Best eggs benedict and Vanilla French toast on any ship. It's not fast, but it's nice and civilized and the breakfast was excellent. One thing I was surprised about was that the floor in the Lido buffet area is tile and gets very slick when wet, which it was due to the warm, muggy air. I almost fell twice and saw others slipping as they walked. I'm just surprised they would have a hazard like that. Casino- loved it except it's always very cold in there. Lots of smokers but they all sit at the bar so not the best place if smoke bothers you. Shows: Typical cruise shows. One was okay, one was boring. Entertainment: The live band was very good but the best was the 3 violinists who played rock songs on their violins. They are probably the best entertainment we've ever seen on this class of ship. We were mesmerized by their music. The disco was okay. The DJ was willing to take requests but didn't really engage with the customers. The Trivia was pretty good. The service on the ship was excellent. The bartenders, wait staff, room steward, were all very friendly and accommodating. Some of the casino dealers were a bit boring...never a smile and no personality, but most were okay. We did not so any excursions and the weather was a bit cold and cloudy so no water activities this time, but Costa Maya and Cozumel are always nice to visit. We got a massage at the port in both places and really enjoyed that. I would say my biggest disappointment on this ship was the other passengers. There were just so many rude, pushy, unfriendly, ignorant people. No common courtesy. People eating in the buffet line, leaving food all over the place, talking loud during the musical performance, saving seats during shows, pushing and shoving during the sales, babies in diapers in the jacuzzi. So gross!!! I will never cruise from New Orleans again, but this is not Carnival's fault. As far as value for money...you get what you pay for. I would say this is a lower end ship. Good for a get away, but don't expect to be wowed by the ship or the food and you'll be okay. Embarkation/Debarkation was flawless. Easy and quick on both ends. The people at the port were also very friendly and helpful. Read Less

We wanted a cruise after hurricane season, and to sail from a port near us.We had only been on one other really "big" Carnival ship ( The Pride). The atrium was beautiful. And the decor was fabulous, but there was an offensive odor throughout the ship that just would not go away. Our cabin steward and his staff was great. The room stayed cool just like we like it. The staff, as a whole, seemed very stressed and over worked ( they always had a smile and hello for you, but something seemed off, from stewards to the dining staff). My teens enjoyed this cruise better than last one, there were more "Southern talking" teens like themselves. I was still not pleased with the activities offered for teens to do, and I do have a few suggestions, but will save those for Carnival. All in All, out of the 6 Carnival cruises we have done, we like the smaller ships. Read Less

Never got sick but sure felt it. I feel had our weather been a little better the sea days would have been more enjoyable. But overall a great vacation with a great group of gals. The ports were great. Cozumel was beautiful. And if i can suggest anyone going to cozumel should go to mr. Sanchos. We had the best time there. Our waiter edel was great. He made sure we always had drinks and food if we wanted. Such a beautiful place. First time going to progresso. It was ok, went more into the city than the beach but we had a very nice lady walking us to different things. I did feel safe, but i feel had we went by ourselves we might have been flagged down by locals. Read Less

We went on Triumph with a group of 14. There wasn't one day were we weren't smiling. Everything from the service to entertainment was exceptional. The dinners were so good, that we were sure not to miss one. Our server actually became our friend. When the cruise was over it was emotional to leave such a delightful crew of people! We will will go back to see them! We will always cruise Triumph from here on out! Our expectations were exceeded beyond belief. Great time, Great food, great entertainment, exceptional crew!!! Our favorite places to eat during the day were the cantina and guys burgers. Our favorite entertainment was the comedy shows. The pool area was just right and there were many designated places for those whom smoke. We loved bingo and the casino. My favorite game was the money crane, even though I never won it. However, one person in our group did. So much fun. But my favorite part of this cruise were our dinners and the crew members! Best crew ever!!! Read Less

Had a good time on Carnival Dream out of New Orleans. Spent weekend in New Orleans and had a blast. Ocean view cabin. Saw 4 comedians and all great. Did steakhouse and fair. Did Chacchoben with Native Choice and highly recommend. Did Roatan Ocen Adventures snorkle hop and was fantastic. Much better than West Bay West End beach snorkle. Did cave-tubing.com butts up cave tube and zip. Great excursion for price. Highly recommend. Did Amazing Secret River via Carnival and although pricey was an amazing excursion. MDR was just OK. Elegant night on first sea day and Belize. First night had lobster and ate 2. Second night had filet and just OK. Not tender. Had Guys Buger just off grill and delicious. Had buffet one night and was Italian night and sucked. Show were fail. Did Motown, oldies, movies. Did lip sync show and was fun. Since me and a friend, reorganized cabin and switched bed with couch and worked great. Read Less

Always looking for new ports--first time in Costa Maya, Belize & Roatan. Had a great cabin in the spa area on the Panorama Deck 11. Embarkation was busy but not too bad--we actually walked to the port from the Springhill Suites on St Joseph St. I already knew about climbing down the full staircase coming out of the Riverwalk Mall thanks to CC so I was ready--unfortunately I fractured my wrist the day before the cruise misjudging a handicap curb cutout and spent my pre-cruise evening in the ER! Despite this minor setback, I was able to fully enjoy all of the ports except some of the water-sports. Since we had a spa deck cabin, I took full advantage of the spa showers which are huge & the kind staff at the Springhill Suites made sure that I had enough bags to cover my soft cast so I could use the showers & whirlpools. We booked independent excursions in each port as I prefer to give back to the locals. We did Maya Chan Beach in Costa Maya which was all inclusive. Traveling there via van was a bit bumpy as there roads had excess potholes & water due to rainy season, but our van driver attempted to avoid as many road obstacles as possible. Staff was extremely friendly & local food was yummy. Water-sports activities were included in the price-beach did have a bit of sea grass which they raked frequently. We did an island tour with Roatan Snorkling Tours which included a stop at Victor Boden Wildlife Area, a chocolate & rum factory and beach stop at Bananarama Beach Resort. Our tour guide Jana & driver Richard were amazing! The highlight for me was getting to hug a sloth--they are wonderful animals! The beach was also great with clear water & multiple food/drink offerings. Next we did cave tubing with Butt's Up in Belize. Our guide Jimmy was great & we met up with another guide Jose when we got to the caves. These gentlemen were able to pull 13 of us through the caves! You do have to walk through 3 streams to get to the caves as well as walk thru the jungle, but I managed without a problem with my wrist wrapped! Our excursion was only $35 which included lunch vs over &100 thru Carnival! Our favorite spot was Mr Sanchos in Cozumel--two of my party went snorkeling & had beach massages which they loved! Our waiters Martin & Aldo took great care of us despite the crowds that day. Water was amazing. Also enjoy the shopping areas in Cozumel. Our last sea day was a bit rough with cloudy weather and lower temperatures, which sent most of the outdoor activities indoors. Loved our cruise director Alex as well as our dining room team (late seating) & cabin steward--they were amazing! Spa was lovely and we took advantage of the steam rooms and whirlpool. Only negatives were smoky casino & piano bar guy sang off key, so we didn't go back--did the deck movies instead. Read Less

Cabin steward Pande was fantastic, he was very friendly and polite. Entertainment in shows were great. Cruise director Alex was very entertaining and easy to talk to. He made sure any and all questions were answered. Staff on lido deck were friendly not pushy when told you didn't want drinks. Ship was very clean and maintained. Dining was outstanding. Loved the fine dining room, only wish you didn't have to dress up on certain nights casual dress should have been ok, (I don't mean shorts, bathing suits or tank tops) Both boarding and exiting ship was fast, and organized. All ports were set up basically the same with same merchandise and shops, sales people were pushy and each said the same thing. Read Less

We are Platinum level with Carnival so we enjoy cruising with them., jWe had great service from the crew. Got to have good relationships with several of the bartenders. We had one bad experience the first night (they woke us at 10 pm and said we were not at the muster drill which of course we were and they records proved it) but were able to resolve it with the guest services manager. It was a llittle rocky start but she made it right. Our steward was attentive and since he knew we were early risers he made sure our cabin was one of the first cleaned so we could come back after breakfast and start our day. I was a little disappointed in the lack of activities on board while we were in port. This is the first cruise we have been on that I didn't get a ship on a stick mostly because there was not enough opportunities to win one. Read Less

Our cabin was great and thanks to our wonderful stewardess Eva always clean. All of the staff onboard were great but Eva was excellent. She had a whole deck to work (2nd deck) but still took the time to remember me and my wife’s name. Adam the cruise director was probably the life of every party. He was funny and very informative. The ride was a little rocky at time but we pack motion sickness medicine and brackets so we were fine. As soon as we got on board our bags were waiting for us by our room door. The food was good. Guys burger and the breakfast options were my favorite. The buffet was ok but nothing to brag about. Pizza pirate was good as well. Overall great trip. And again Thank you Eva Read Less

I usually only travel on RCCL however, family members found a great deal on this sailing. Worst decision ever, dirty, old, poor lighting, broken fixtures, unused rooms due to upcoming renovations, poor staffing, display of food, staff uniforms. Just because it an old ship doesn't mean they do not need to keep it clean. This ship should have been renovated years ago. Several broken drink dispenser on Lido deck, visible rust throughout the entire ship and unsanitary conditions. The staff uniforms were horrible they were dingy, old and faded in every area I saw staff. Items were placed on m th cousin bill that she didn't sign up for. ST.JUDES to be exact. I was very apprehensive about cruising with Carnivsl because of my previous experience but I gave it one last try. Never again I will stick with RCCl and enjoy my perks as a Emerald member. It was a bingo bugle tournament cruise. I had a great time. My room was clean and airy and I was close to the elevator. I was on deck 2 and concerned because I had read reviews about the noise being so low down and close to elevator. The only noise was a couple of drunks one night and the dropping of the anchor early one morning.i did not go on any any excursions but did go ashore for brief periods.Found the food very good although only warm at the buffet. Dining room early seating was excellent and we had 2 wonderful wait staff that addressed me by name each time and made sure I had my Diet Coke asap Every evening close to dessert time there was entertainment in the form of dance or song by the wait staff. Simply fun..Seaday brunch was excellent. I had a bottomless bubbles package and had no problems getting my pop.definitely worth buying. Embarkation went well .very organized but lots of lines and never-ending walking. I had the best time and have booked for the tournament next year on the carnival magic. Read Less

This was my husband's and my 4th Anniversary and 2nd cruise. It was amazing. The staff aboard the Dream made us feel like family. We had an interior room which was cleaned daily except the day we slept over after an awesome excursion. But then it was cleaned twice the next day. The food was delicious and the wait staff so nice. Highly recommend. The embarkation and disembarking went very smoothly. The shore excursions were amazing. There was a medical emergency on board that was handled very professionally and with great care for the privacy and safety of the family involved. A helicopter was brought in to take the patient and family to an awaiting hospital. The way this was handled makes us very confident about bringing our handicapped son on future cruises. Loved meeting people from all over the world. Thank you so much to the Fun Shops for having our room decorated. It made our Anniversary very special. Read Less

We have traveled on the Carnival Cruise line several times. This cruise has left some experiences that were not up to par. We purchased the Faster to the Fun excursion... we paid 70.00. However we were detained by 2 hours with boarding the ship due to maintenance. The workers at the Port of New Orleans left a lot to be desired.. very unorganized... we had our check in scheduled for 11:30 and were not able to board until 2:15.. arrived to our Cabin which was in great condition... cabin steward was not very attentive. Rarely saw him.. unlike previous cruises.. Carnival has changed their policy. They will only enter your cabin once a day.... We were celebrating our anniversary and husband ordered flowers.. guest services advised that I could take off ship at disembarkment however security told me I couldn’t. Had to throw away... entered Paris dining room for breakfast the day in Cozumel . service was horrible.. took 10 minutes before we were acknowledged and we ordered the Shore Day Express breakfast (you are supposed to be in and out in 25 minutes). It took 30 minutes to get food that was cold, served on wilted lettuce.. bacon was bits and pieces... waiter apologized for being slow... I called Carnival Guest Services when I got home. I was told that I should have read the conditions and exclusions to Faster to the Fun that they do not have to refund any of the few if we are delayed due to maintenance of the ship... apologized for the subpar service. Explained about the roses that we had to leave behind, I stated that they should have some verbiage about how you will not be able take off at embarkation and could not offer a reply except I am sorry. Gave us a $25 on board credit for future cruise.. Will we cruise Carnival again... Yes... In our opinion we think that the cruise staff may be in training on the Triumph... lack of speaking and understanding English seemed to be experienced by a lot of passengers... Postive points from cruise.... we had a great time, Sunday night they showed the Saints game on the screen on the lido deck, Cabin was comfortable.... you get what you pay for.. we got a great last minute deal... however it was very relaxing getaway. We LOVED the Triumph. We were one of the last groups before it was dry docked, but the ship was in great condition! Embarking & Disembarking in New Orleans was smooth and quick, no complaints. The staff was super friendly, and the room was in good condition. We spent a lot of time on deck in the smoking section, so I can’t say much about the pool areas. Guys & Pizza Pirate were our go-to’s. We ported in Cozumel first.. we spent the day eating tacos, shopping, and going to the Humane Society of Cozumel (HIGHLY recommend to any dog and cat people- they do amazing work and the animals are so happy). We did not get off the ship in Progreso, just enjoyed the empty ship areas for the day. We weren’t impressed with the main dining food, but it may just be our taste- not a huge fan of fine dining. Overall, we had no complaints. We’ve actually scheduled our 2019 cruise for the same itinerary leaving from NOLA, would have booked it on Triumph again if we could! Read Less

My sister and I wanted to take a relaxing girls trip to Mexico. We assumed the Carnival Triumph had had all the carpets replaced after the 2013 Poop Cruise incident. (Fire resulting in power failure leaving no A/C, raw sewage in the hallways and cabins, little food and water, etc.) The good news is that the sewage system did not back up or flood the hallways. The bad news is the hallways smelled like poop all the time and the toilets stunk so bad that we always had to have the lid closed, and we had to spray air freshener before we sat down to make sure we didn't gag. The carpets are still stained and water damaged from the poop cruise. That's right, they did not replace them that we could tell. I purchased the bottomless bubbles card for $50 for a 5 day cruise. To get a soda, you had to go to a bar or the main dining room. You then had to wait 10 minutes or more to be served at the bar. One morning, in the main dining room I asked four times for a soda and waited over 30 minutes for it. Nobody was getting one without begging. Furthermore, if the bars weren't open in the morning and you wanted to eat at the buffet, you could not get a soda at all. I had less than 12 total because of the hassle and should have just carried on my own 12 pack. The alcoholic drinks were super weak. I'm a huge lightweight and could not taste alcohol in my frozen drinks nor did they make me feel anything. The dining room food was just ok. Not horrible, but nothing to rave about. The prime rib was not good, and the beef tenderloin was obviously the leftover prime rib. Most of the leftover food from the formal dining room was served on the buffet the next day. Almost all fresh seafood and steak was $20 or more extra. Our room steward and waiter in the Paris Dining room were amazing though, and gave us great service despite the other issues. As far as entertainment, they had two comedians onboard. One made racial slurs during his act despite over half the cruise being people of color. Not many laughs there for good reason. The shows were just meh. Nothing great. We purchased a shore excursion that advertised snorkeling in a Cenote, (Mayapan ruins and Cenote cave swim and snorkeling) but when we got on the excursion, the guides informed us that they no longer offered snorkeling. The guides were very sweet and entertaining though, so it was not their fault. Carnival falsely advertised the shore excursion. Our other excursion was in Cozumel at the Isla Passion all inclusive beach day. Again, very weak drinks, and anything that was actually good was NOT included. (beer other than Negro Modelo and any alcoholic drink that did not come from a mystery cooler.) The staff was very pushy and constantly begging for tips. Towels were not even included, they were an additional $8. The canopied beds and hammocks were an extra charge. Basically, all that was included was a sub par lunch, beach access, a hard plastic chair, and mystery well drinks that were super weak. Would not do that excursion again. Overall, I was pretty dissapointed. I've cruised four other times with both Norweigan and Royal Carribean and this was my first Carnival Cruise. After this experience it was also my last. Read Less

This was my first cruise. I was totally impressed with the staff, organization and food! Stunning views of the Gulf from many decks. I especially loved going to the highest outside deck in front. I captured many great sunset photos! My main complaint is my room placement. We were on main level 1345. The pilot boats pick up and drop off right next to our window which was neat to see. BUT when we arrived in New Orleans at 4:30am and docked, the fork lifts started bashing the thing into the little garage door thing right under our bedroom window. This continues for a long time as it picks up luggage etc. out of the ship! It's super loud and we were forced to wake up. I was really upset! My entire day of travel was ruined as I was exhausted. Don't ever stay around that area. I did file a complaint. Also the $75 Myan ruins excursion only includes lunch. At least 2.5 hours is spent on the bus. We ate lunch at a city restaurant and only got a half hour in Merida. I didn't think that was worth the money. Read Less

This cruise was such a great experience! The staff on the ship were very friendly and very helpful. Parking was a $100 flat rate right by the terminal. Inside the port we moved right along and before we knew it we were on the ship. It was a very seamless process. We found our room and was welcomed by our stewardess Goergetta who was amazing and very helpful. We dined in the Paris dinning room and Christy and two others were on there toes and did a great job from the time you sat to finsh. There is no such thing as boredom upon this cruise ship. Adam, the cruise director, was super funny, helpful and genuinely seemed to care if you were having a great time! In cozumel, we went to the chankanaab park which was absolutely stunning! Our snorkel guides, Diego and Chino were extremely helpful and thorough. They made sure that everybody was on the same page and answered any and all questions. Diego was quite funny as well. They even made us homemade guacamole! After cozumel we sailed to Progreso, which was a completely different experience. Everything seemed a little more "authentic". If you go to Progreso, you'll see what I mean. Also, be prepared to either buy something every 5 minutes or say no thank you every five minutes. I understand they are trying to boost the economy, but it seemed a little too much at times. With all that being said, I highly recommend cruising with these wonderful people! My wife and I were always greeted with a smile. My only complaint, if you can even call it that, was the elevators were a little on the slow side. Hopefully the new upgrades will address that. We went on this cruise to join other family. Right from the start we noticed that the drinking water had a bad door and taste. I spoke to the staff and Guest Services and the response was not to drink the tap water but buy bottled water. This is the first time I have ever exoperienced this issue ona cruise ship. We are Paltinium members on two other cruise lines and will NEVER travel on the Dream or another Carnival ship again. The dining room water was no better and I had to leave to go get the bottle water from my room. Again a first. There was not even a table cloth on the main dining room tables? The attitude of the wait staff and Guste Services is that the water has been tested and is okay but they could not explain the bad smell and taste. The remedy was that they will gladly sell us bottle water at $3.75 a bottle though! By day two of the cruise we notices that hat the room began to smell badly and discovered the ventilation system was bringing in hazardous exhaust fumes from the ship. Read Less

Where do I start over all the cruise itself was very relaxing and laid-back and I got to see some very beautiful views of several countries but as far as the ship itself it was very very very underwhelming I did not get what I was expecting overall in terms of fun entertaining the food was lacking it can best be described as a step above getting Shoney's I ended up eating a lot of cereal ice cream and hamburgers because I was not satisfied with any of the food on the ship I went to dinner and got a shrimp cocktail that was served in a bowl the shrimp were overcooked they were very small and I was just not satisfied with the taste I felt so bad for the workers on the ship they do not look happy which in turn made me feel like I was causing their unhappiness by being there the people were nice on the ship but they did not make me feel like I was having a once-in-a-lifetime experience this was my first cruise everyone who's been on a cruise before has brag to me about the experience I should have with the food with the service the fun with the entertainment and I didn't get anything that was described to me I really have to question whether or not I did the right thing to celebrate my honeymoon and my husband and I's birthday I was very very disappointed with what I thought was going to be an awesome experience the main thing was the food was just not goodalso I left the ship with just thinking all they wanted to do was get as much money out of you as they could they wanted to sell you everything it was all about money money money and I just wish that I could have had a better experience I would have gladly spent more money if I had something worth spending it on Read Less

This cruise was a repeat itinerary from 2013, but on a much larger ship. The Dream had 4K+ passengers, but still seemed uncrowded. Food quality in the main dining room seems to be declining along with service. Portions seemed smaller, particularly with beef items. Servers sometimes brought food to wrong person. Bread options were sometimes offered to each person and other times it was in baskets on tables. Tablecloths were used only on "elegant" nights which now appear to allow shorts and t-shirts despite what the rules say. Deserts were always what we liked about Carnival, but on this cruise all the chocolate cakes tasted almost the same regardless of the descriptive names. Negative item was a cabin shower drain backup on day 3. Also bar soap was missing when we boarded and a couple glasses had fingerprints and/or lip prints on them when we first boarded. This was quickly rectified when brought to steward's attention. Overall, we did enjoy the cruise experience. Our cabin steward Samuel was great and met all of our unique needs asap. Read Less

This was our first cruise. Our departure port was New Orleans and the embarkation and debarkation went well. We were on the ship and off the ship with no trouble. The ship was beautiful and well groomed. The balcony cabin was just right with enough space and storage. Noordam, our room steward, was so friendly and nice and called us by our first names. He was very personable. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. The dining was excellent and the food was really good. The waiters were personable and well mannered. I was very impressed by Ramil. He was excellent. Loved the shows they were really good. The entertainers were good. The comedians in the punchliner were so funny. Loved the activities, sometimes it was hard to choose which one to do. The staff throughout the ship was courteous and kept the ship clean. I would definitely like to go back. Read Less

This was a family cruise and having already been on the DREAM 2 other times, I knew what to expect. The Dream is my favorite ship, in all her beauty. I have waited 4 days to write this review as I left extremely upset on debarkation day, Sun 10/21/18. I will start with what upset me terribly first- When our #30 group were called to disembark, we walked towards the elevators and as I was about to push the button, the elevators ALL shut down. An announcement came over the intercom in broken English, that the elevators were not to be used, that all remaining cruisers would have to use the stairs. We had carry on luggage that we would have to carry down the stairs. My husband came out of the bathroom and stated that the water had also been cut off that he was unable to wash his hands. This was 11:40 am. I am unable to do stairs because of major health issues, so this upset me terribly. I picked up the phone and called guest services stating that I could not do the stairs with my luggage and the person on the other end apologized. That's all I got! Also, AFTER we managed to do the stairs, My husband's passport was flagged so another delay. It's funny it was NOT flagged on Embarkation day. Here's My Bullet List of Concerns with Carnival: 1- The $5 Chat APP did not function. Error code 90% of time was Service Declined 2-Miscellaneous charges on my bill daily, requiring me to go to Guest Services 3-Room Stewards & Security were not knowledgable on the disembarkation luggage tags 4-Hot Tubs were not HOT, nor jets working on Days Sun - Tues. I finally found one on Wed that was working properly 5-Fine Dining Room Waiters were not personal at all. I'm used to them greeting you by name. Spoke very little to us. 6-Husband grabbed a serving utensil to spoon out food and the buffet server snatched the pan right out from under him, and said, "Buffet Closed" This was uncalled for. 7-Could NOT understand any intercom announcements...Broken English 8-The Trivia games I so much enjoy were not fun. The facilitator did not speak loud enough...not much motivation for the games 9-The gratuities used to be warranted when your room stewards made your bed more than once a day, and the towel animals were unique. I was able to compare our towel animals with a fellow cruiser. Ours were as if a 5 year old did them. This may seem trivial, but as a cruiser, this is part of that unique service you should get for the extreme amounts of gratuities that Carnival demands you pay. 10-Drinks very weak and expensive. Not much alcohol in them. 11-and.....DRUM ROLL.......My new luggage is missing a wheel. Carnival broke my luggage 12- I am cancelling my May 11, 2019 Cruise already booked since last summer 2017. I am going to forfeit my deposit. 13- GOOD BYE CARNIVAL Read Less

This was our second cruise on TRIUMPH, and there were enough little bumps in the road that detracted from what would have been a great cruise! We're not picky people who find fault with every little thing, but some things do merit a comment. We signed up for the Merida tour and rum tasting excursion, well in advance of the cruise, and had, as with past Carnival sponsored excursions, every expectation that we'd receive our tickets and have a great time.......and then the bump in the road! The tickets were delivered to our cabin on the evening of our sea day (Sunday). Then on Monday evening, after departing our first port, we received a printed notice that due to insufficient numbers of participants, the excursion was cancelled, and the fee we paid would be applied against any outstanding balance on our Sign & Sail Card. Sadly, that was the only excusion we were interested in, so other than a short visit to the shops immediately adjacent to the pier, we spent the day aboard ship. Our room steward was personable and friendly, but I fear they are being overworked, or poorly managed. We didn't see him on embarkation day or evening, so were without ice or the daily schedule for the next day. He came around the next morning and we were given the option of morning or afternoon cleaning. We chose morning cleaning, but anytime we came back to the room during the day, no one had been there. A stewards locker was right next to our cabin and stewards were in and out of it during the day, but we never saw our room steward on our hallway - usually he waved or greeted us from the opposite hallway when we were coming or going to the elevators. We found, after we returned from late dining, that the room had been cleaned and made up. Whether he or one of the stewards we saw in the hallway our cabin fronted cleaned it, we have no idea. Photos have become prohibitively expensive! "Fun shots" - those taken by the photographers at the gangway, around the ship, etc., are now $12 (5x7). Photos taken with any of the costumed characters (pirates, towel-man, etc.) are now $15 (5x 7). The elegant night photos against the various backdrops are over $20 each. There is no film processing to do, or even film to buy - everything is digital, and undoubtedly every photo printer they have, simply based on the number of photos they take and sell, has more than paid for itself, paper, inks, etc., etc. To turn around the demand the prices they do for the photos is highway robbery, and they'll now prosecute you for violating copyright laws if you take a picture of a photo of yourself! Our wait staff in the dining room were excellent, and considering we were part of a group of eleven, one of whom was celebrating her 30th birthday, the wait staff showed great patience, and took great care with the entire group every evening. (Upper London on 4 fwd, Table 364 (seats 12)) Halloween and Mardi Gras. Both themes were celebrated during the cruise, and the number of passengers who had, in some cases, professional quality costumes for the Halloween events, while others had no idea, makes on wonder when & where were folks notified that such events would be held, and that bringing costumes, etc., was encouraged. Had more of the passengers been aware of it, both events would have been spectacular! Three cheers for the embarkation process - no more waiting to be called to check in and get your Sign & Sail Card -- when you go through security and they scan your passport, you are checked in and go directly aboard the ship. Your Sign & Sail Cards are waiting for you in your cabin -- with any elected stickers (Cheers, Bubbles, FTTF, etc.) already applied to the card - and a hole already punched in one corner!! Debarkation was also very smooth, and were were literally off the ship, through customs, in our vehicle and on the street leading to the interstate before 8:25 AM!!!! In prep for the upgrade to be accomplished after the first of the year, work is already ongoing, and the interior rooms on the starboard side of the 7th deck have been completed. When we left Progreso on Tuesday, there was a HUGE pile of bathroom sink vanities, piping, toilets, etc. on the dock waiting to be carted off to a junk yard, as they were then working on another hallway while we the cruise was ongoing.
