Fantastic First Fun Cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Elation

I had never been on a cruise before so I was a bit skeptical about the whole thing. But, I'm happy to say that it turned out to be a very pleasant experience. First, I have to commend the crew members. They were what really made the cruise great. So friendly and pleasant, they took care of everything for us. From the Cruise Director (Robin) down to the room attendant (Asep). I don't know how much ...

Carnival Dream - Western Caribbean Review 8/3/14-8/10/14

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Dream

Just got off the Carnival Dream this morning and this ship is truly a dream! Where do I start? First we arrived in NO on 7/31/14 and we stayed at the Sheraton Hotel on Canal street. The hotel was very nice and it even had a full Starbucks in the lobby of the hotel. My parents and I went down Canal street and then down the famous Bourbon street. The first restaurant we ate at was the Oceana ...

Another fun trip on the Elation!

First off - a cruise is exactly what you make of it. This is our third time sailing on the Elation and her sister ship, the Ecstasy (8/4/14 - 8/9/14). Yes they are dated, and yes, they are some of the smaller cruise ships in the fleet. You will get past the dated decor after the first day so don't let that bother you. But here is a great advantage of the smaller ships - you will meet the most ...

Best of our Cruises on Carnival!!

This was truly the best of all of our cruises on Carnival - the ship was always clean and comfortable. The MDR meals we selected were all excellent and the staff we enjoyed there (Henry-Team Headwaiter, Michael-Team waiter, Rommel-Asst. Team Waiter and our Wine Steward) were attentive without being overbearing. Sometimes they knew what we wanted before we did!! And based on my request for a ...

The Cruise was really nice. We had a very fun time. The ship had some of the features of Funship 2.0. I am happy I rated it five stars. Hotel: The hotel we stayed at was really nice. I would rate the hotel 5 stars. We stayed in the courtyard in New Orleans. Our rooms were nice. We had to walk to the cruise terminal which was a bit of a problem. We got confused. Later, we finally found the ...

No such thing as a bad cruise

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Carnival Elation

We had a wonderful time on the Elation August 9-14. There were good and less-than-good things about it, but as we said before, there's no such thing to us as a "bad" cruise! The Elation is an older ship, which we knew, but the only way you could really tell that was from our cabin...no couch (just a backless stool under the desk/dresser), very old tv set, chips in the paint/porcelain in the ...

Dream Cruise-Wonderful

We are Louisiana residents in our early 60's and this was our first cruise on the Dream. Parking and embarkation were easy. The NOLA Carnival team really has this down to a very smooth operation. I say this after sailing out of another port in May which was a nightmare! The Dream is beautiful and BIG. The first day was hectic as people tried to learn the layout of the ship and the elevators were ...

Great ship, great cruise!

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Dream

Our cabin was on the first floor, barely above the waterline, the cheap seats! Room was small but functional. Shower water pressure was good and temps very easily controlled (and hot!). Not enough electrical outlets. Only one 110 volt and one 220 volt in the room; one 110 volt in bathroom but it was very very high and inconvenient. Take a multiple-outlet strip to charge your cell phone, etc. ...

we had 23 people in our group, and all had a blast! Ship activities were fun, comedians were funny, stage shows were great. We had early dining in the Scarlet dining room at 6 each night, table 654. Ellen and Jani were great waiters and servers, every suggestion and request was taken care of almost instantly! our cabin steward was awesome, Putu was always about asking if there was anything we ...

DREAMY END OF SUMMER FOR KIDS!

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Dream

Before I review the wonderful cruise on the Carnival dream, I want to be sure that our readers know that during the summer months and spring break weeks in March; The Carnival cruise ships are almost 50% children under the age of 17 and younger. Be warned adults, you will have the children running around at all hours of the day & late night, jumping into pools and hot tubs, cutting in food lines, ...
