My husband and I took our first cruise scheduled to leave on Sept. 5th, 2011. Tropical Storm Lee had other plans. Due to the ship not being able to come back into port because of rough seas, our cruise was shorted from 5 days to 4 days and we lost our Calica port.

We are two cruisers in our mid/late 20's from GA. This was our 9th Carnival cruise.
This was our first, and now only, time leaving out of Mobile. We parked at the Convention Center, walked 5 minutes, and saved enough for several DODs on board. :) Check in was quick and easy, 25 minutes from luggage drop off to getting our Sail and Sign pictures made.

Just got back from one of the last cruises on the Elation out of Mobile and we had the honor of being the first cruise to try out a new menu. The Carnival Elation was a well designed and maintained ship. I decided to take a last minute cruise out of Mobile before Carnival pulls the Elation.
The Alabama Cruise Terminal was very easy access, park, and check in. Great job on the facility. The only downfall was returning. They definitely could use a bigger luggage area and more customs agents.

If you don't care about shelling out money left and right, than this is the cruise for you! My 3 girlfriends and I (all 30 yrs old) took a "Girls Trip" aboard the Carnival Elation this past weekend. We sailed on the Elation August 2011. First of all, I am really disappointed that Carnival is leaving Mobile. The efficiency of the port was top rate. One of the best we've ever been too. It took us about 30-45 minutes from the time we pulled in to the bay to unload our car til the time we was on board sitting down for lunch. The garage on site was a nice plus.
