I chose this cruise for a 70th birthday blowout with my family. Big mistake. We love Carnival and have cruised with them 3 previous times. I was excited to book on this new ship however I did not investigate it enough. I am mobility challenged with RA and OA and bring a walker with me. My review is mostly based on these facts, not for an able bodied person as my family enjoyed the trip more than I. If you are mobility challenged, be aware that you were not factored in when the ship was designed. I could not get into any of the pools nor the hot tubs. The pools all had a wide, raised edge around the perimeter with no handholds available. I could not raise my knees high enough to step over and there was nothing to hold onto while trying. The hot tubs were a "step in" with no way to ease in. I cannot bend my knew very far so could not crouch down to slide in. They had handicapped washrooms with automatic sliding doors. They were mostly unavailable as the general public would use them even when the regular ones were empty. Oftentimes they automatic doors were not working so you had to try to get into the regular ones, park you walker in a tiny corner or out in the corridor as they had no wide stalls inside. I found the staff disinterested in helping if you appeared to need a hand. It is awkward to carry a coffee cup in one hand and try to maneuver your walker to a table but they would just look at you in passing and keep on going. Other cruises I have been bowled over by the staff's helpfulness in getting a meal or a drink to a table for me. They mostly seemed to be "going through the motions" of their job and didn't smile very much. The rooms are very nicely laid out and the room staff was awesome. The activities were abundant and the ship very clean. They had these amazing Dyson hand washers that you put your hands in and a swirling warm water bath was started. Amazing! Made us wash our hands a lot! It was like a garburator without the teeth! The food was very good however unlike other ships, the variety was very scarce. They had mutiple stations with the same items. It was very different from other Carnivals I have been on as well as other cruise lines (Royal Caribbean and Celebrity). I hope this doesn't sound like a spoiled traveller however it was disappointing after so many wonderful cruises. Plus, it was expensive and I like value for my money. The Panarama did not provide that in my opinion. The Legend was amazing however! Read Less

We chose this cruise because it was a brand new ship and thought it would be exciting. It was not, and was a rather bland experience compared to other cruise ships we have been on. I don't think there is anything exciting about this ship. The ambience was very lacking. Lots of advertising for this ship about many things to do on the ship, yet many are just a small area stuck in a corner somewhere. We travel as handicapped and don't believe the Long Beach port is very handicap friendly. They offer scooter rentals for pickup at the port terminal whereas other cruise lines offer scooter delivery to the room and pick up there. The pick up in the terminal was fine for boarding as you didn't have to wait for a wheelchair. But if you wanted to debark and take your own luggage, it became too much baggage to handle along with scooter. Won't do that again. Our accessible room was very nice with a nice layout, nice bathroom layout EXCEPT there were no chairs at all in the room. We had to sit on either the scooter or the bed. We had room service and had to put the tray on the bed. Not a comfortable scenario and there was plenty of room to put a chair. My curling iron quit two days after sailing in a plug where as other things worked fine in. After much frustration and paying for one hairstyle for $ 80; found out there was nothing wrong with my curling iron, but rather something wrong with it working properly in their plug. They brought up a box they called a transformer and I had to plug into that which took up most of the only desk space we had. Not a good experience on a brand new ship. The food on board was mediocre at best. Many things missing that would be readily available on another cruise line. Very little fruit and always the same fruit, mainly melon. Couldn't find a banana or orange to save your life. Many strange dishes everyday. Cutting board items so, so and were sliced to the bare minimum. There were two sides to the buffet and at 10:30 AM, one was shut down, including the orange juice machine!!! One day we couldn't get lunch if we wanted it. Was told we could have pizza or a sandwich, REALLY!! Never been on a ship where the included meals were not available. Very bad. Every tomato we had the whole trip was either green to pink and the center so hard you couldn't eat it. Portions served were small, glasses were small, cups were small necessitating many trips for refill. I really felt the cruise line was trying to pinch pennies with all these type of tactics and push people to go to the pay restaurants. One other note, one of the public rest rooms we stopped at near one of the lounges smelled so bad, it would gag you. There was a cleaning person in there scrubbing the toilets, but THAT WAS IT and she left after brushing all 3 and left the smell to remain. Not good. I will most likely cruise with anyone but Carnival in the future. We have cruised on 12+ cruises on all various cruise lines so lots to compare to. Read Less

New ship, new port, previous experience on Vista class ship, bad experience from arriving at LAX to use Carnival us transport but upon arrival could not not find representative not any indication of Carnival Rep, no signs, posters, etc. Spent over 1 hour at LAX after getting baggage before as able to locate Rep, then had go take all baggage outside of terminal, walk about 400 yards, then met bus. Rep only had one baggage cart and over 40 of the people using the bus we over 70 years old, Upon arrival at terminal was another confusing situation. Had to sit on bus while baggage unloaded then everyone had to get off bus, find their luggage outside, and take to porters. Then, since there were no signs on which way to go, people randomly went to several locations trying to find entry for the cruise. Checkin was okay but then had to talk about another 400 yards up ramps to get onboard of the ship, Only people providing any welcome onboard was security person. Did not see of hear any ships personnel welcoming passengers. Shore excursion at Cabo San Lucas was a joke. On a Carnival sponsored excursion, there was no one ashore to providing direction to people, there were no signs to follow and just total confusion. Other cruise ships, Norwegian and Princess had signs, tents, and personnel ashore providing guidance to people, But absolutely nothing from carnival. Food onboard was average at best and in the markpetplace, selections were minimal and only one desert location which was always crowded and long lines. No Jello, cookies, limited fruit. Only one show was good and in several of the other shows, people got up and left 5 minutes after the show started,. Disembarkation was unsatisfactory and took over 3 1/2 hours. In the first hour of self assist carry off, only two decks were called. Carnival bus transporation back to LAX also resulted in a 40 minutes wait in line since no buses were present. Arrival at LAX just dumped people at one location and you had to find your way to specific airlines which resulted in a very long walk. Overall, I would not recommed this cruise to anyone and feel Carnival planning, logistics, and customer support are unsatisfactory. They had plenty of time to plan and execute the arrival of this ship at Long Beach but they did and continue to do a very poor job. Great ship but shameful cruise. Read Less

We were offered a last minute uograde which we paid for to go from the very back of floor 1 to floor 6. The logistics of such a move put some strain on the system. We received document, invites and other messages for the previous occupants until the third day. I turned platinum this cruise but got a gold card which was corrected when we went to guest services. Here's the rub, everything on the ship was small and crammed in. Atrium tiny and cramped. Casino all smoking so I feel sorry for those who don't smoke, I do so not problem for me. If you didn't like what was on the menu for the MDR the buffet seemed to serve the same thing. IT seemed that they wanted to steer towards added charge specialty restaurants. Casino bar had stainless steel fixtures that were broken for such a new ship . Several slot machines were non functioning. Many of the crew seemed unhappy save a few. Wife's big highlight was coffee place where the barista remembered her name from day one and greeted her by name each trip. Tapanyaki place fun and good food. $38 bucks a head more expensive than another line we cruise any of their specialty restos. We never bothered with the sky zone or the aerial bikes. Smoking areas on deck 11 were confused. Sometimes o.k other times (not refueling) nope can't do. Emma. Now Emma isn't for everyone but I thought she was a hoot. At sail away I never saw the Lido deck so alive. Anytime she was on the Lido she worked the crowd 110%. This class of ship I would say not our style. Many will like it especially for the first or second time cruiser. Maybe it was still working the bugs out of the operations but I would not cruise this ship again. Read Less

I chose this ship for a short family vacation and trial run with the kids and my husband at cruising. We took the 3 day Ensenada cruise out of San Diego. The ship is old, the food is not fantastic, there are not a lot of things for kids to do as on the newer ships, and they seem short-staffed. We did manage to make the most our of the experience and make memories. However, I couldn't imagine being on this ship for the Alaska or Hawaii itinerary. We had one of the Vista Suites and the kids had an interior room. Our room was just old and outdated looking, the closet doors didn't slide, the drawers weren't easy to open, and the balcony was pretty dirty. On every cruise I have ever been on, steak and lobster are included in the dinner on formal night, apparently this is not the case anymore. If we wanted that it was a $20 up charge in the main dining room, very disappointing. We also got the Bubbles package. I drink but my husband doesn't drink a lot of alcohol or soda; however, he does drink Propels. Carnival was supposed to switch the Pepsi products in January so I bought the Cheers package. Our cruise was on January 3rd and was the last cruise with Coke products...lucky us. There were no sugar free/low carb drinks offered other than sodas and energy drinks. Our kids (boys) spent most of their time on the basketball court. We tried to play a game of darts in the Red Frog but there was one dart left...kind of makes for a boring game. There were a few "big" football games on during the cruise and the Sports Bar was the only place that had them on. It was packed, stuffy, and only had one bartender! Not sure why they couldn't have turned it on in more places? Service at the main dining room seemed to be slower on this cruise than I had experienced in the past. It didn't matter if there were 11 people at our table or 2. I sat at several bars without even being acknowledged and eventually got up and left. I've never experienced this before either. Needless to say, my husband hated it and will never cruise again. I'm looking forward to booking more cruises in the future with the kids and I doubt I'll be cruising with Carnival. Read Less

This was our 7th annual New Years Cruise with Carnival. We were excited to be on a new boat, and were looking forward to our trip. Although overall we had a great experience, Carnival Panorama seemed to try very hard to not make it a good trip. I will start with the negatives, and move on to the positives: Walking on board was a huge disappointment for us as we were used to walking on to a large and sprawling atrium. This one is 3 levels high, and we did not even enter the boat at the atrium itself. The floor to ceiling video projection pillar is very cool. But it was not the atrium we were used to on other ships. Checked luggage. Two of our three bags arrived right on time. Our third bag (the one with all of my girl-friend's clothes) did not arrive until nearly 6 pm. When I asked about this from a luggage person, I was told that it was because one of our bags had an item confiscated, and suggested I go to guest services. I said there was no way an item would be confiscated as all it had was clothes. But he insisted. So I went to guest services. After waiting for 35 minutes (the line was full of people having difficulty with their keys), I was told that the bag would probably not arrive until 7:00 pm and that was their policy and that I could read the website and find out the same thing (I did read it, Carnival, and nowhere does it say that your luggage will arrive 2.5 hours after departure). The bag finally arrived, but well after the time we were hoping to have dinner in the dining room. Dining room. Carnival hub allows you to request a table and not wait in line. We did this three times, and never once did it work well. We were told to go to one part of the ship and we went there, and then were told our table was not available at that restaurant, and we had to go elsewhere. Every time we went to the dining room they couldn't find our correct table from the app and we had to wander around following someone trying to find it. The service was ok. However even though we requested it, we were never seated in a spot in the dining room where you could watch the show the servers put on. Room-service. We like to take advantage of the limited breakfast delivery service and like to put in an order for coffee, cereal, and bagels to start our day. Never once did our order come correctly or on time, and once not at all. They advertise that if you put out your order by 3:00 am, they would deliver. On New Years Eve we put out our order at 1:30, and the next morning it was still on our door. The "Liquid Lounge" theater where the nightly shows are put on was a huge disappointment. The shows themselves were outstanding. But the theater is way too small for 4,000 guests. On the last night guests were lining up 3 hours in advance to get a seat. We estimated that MOST of the seats are obstructed in some way - both upper and lower level. (Tip - they will allow you to stand at the bar for the show which was by far the best "seat" we had). The "Limelight Lounge" served as the venue for the comedians and the New Years Eve night-club. It also had Karaoke. While the lay-out was great, it was WAY too hot and stuffy most of the time. Even the DJ complained about it. This stuffi-ness was present many times around the ship and in the cabin. Be prepared to pay extra: Everywhere you go on the ship there are people trying to sell you stuff. Every time we ordered a drink, the server requested we make it a "double shot for just $2.00 more." They were often annoyingly insistent. It was difficulty to walk across the ship without someone shoving a "raffle ticket" in your hand requesting you come back to hear their sales pitch. There are multiple dining options, but almost all of them have extra costs. "Open Times" are not as advertised. On our last day the only thing we had left that we really wanted to try was the Mongolian Wok restaurant which states they are open until 2:30. We got there at 1:15 and were turned away because they were "too busy". Another time at lunch in the lido buffet one of the buffet bars was randomly closed at 2:00 - even with food still there. I just wanted a bread-roll and was told I would have to go to the other buffet. It rained on us during one of our port days. No problem with rain, it's unavoidable. But what really bothered us is that on the lido deck the rain pools up in the bar area. You cannot walk across even the covered areas of the lido deck without walking through an inch or two of water. The PROS of Panorama: THE ENTERTAINMENT IS BETTER THAN ANY WE HAVE SEEN. As at least one other reviewer said, the Rock Revolution is better than any show we have seen on Carnival. THE FOOD IS OUTSTANDING. Guy's burger joint is an upgrade. Even better is Guy's "Pig and Anchor" - even though there is almost always an extra cost. However we went down during our first sea day and it was a free buffet with some of the best barbecue we have ever had to be sampled. We ended up paying extra for two dinners there because it was so good, and the extra cost was not extravagant. The taco stand was also a favorite as they make fresh tortillas as you order, and are some really great tacos. THE CABIN STEWARD "RICKY" WAS OUTSTANDING! Ricky really went above and beyond for us. We had a bottle of champagne that we were saving for our last night, but Ricky made sure it was always on ice for us. CLOUD 9 SPA IS AN UPGRADE! We have done several cruises with Cloud 9 amenities, and we liked this one the best. Although the whirlpool is way smaller, it was overall a better experience. We just got back today and both agreed that was a good experience and we do not regret it. But we will not be going with Panorama ever again, and may give up on Carnival all together as the direction that the company seems to be going is to pack more nickel-and-dime opportunities on their ships. We chose this cruise for the New Years celebration and wanted to check out the new ship. This would also be our first Carnival cruise as we have sailed Royal Caribbean once and twice on Princess. Embarkation was fluid and the most organized part of the cruise. We scheduled to arrive at 2 but got there at 11:30 and they let us right on. Being our 4th cruise I felt like we knew what we were doing somewhat though it's been a decade since our last so things have changed. But there is so little information given and it seems the cruise line relies on you seeking information or already knowing what you are doing. I also felt the food outside the main dining room was pretty below average with the exception of Guy's Burgers, Blue Iguana and the Omelet Bar. I do not get the hype on the pizza, it is just globs of cheese on soggy bread with very little flavor to the sauce. Pig and Anchor free lunch is also terrible but the paid meal was alright. Buffet always looked gross with the exception of fruit or sealed items like the yogurt. The sandwitches at the sandwich station were all flavorless and just not very good. The premium coffee's weren't that great. The entertainment was great if you could catch it, but the fun times is so overwhelming that it is tough to really plan your day around it, so you just catch what you can. Emma is a great host though and had loads of energy the whole cruise, I'm not sure how she is going to keep it up for 9 months straight. The new year's deck party was kind of lame, even the countdown was somewhat botched. The new years eve eve party was actually better. They really struggled keeping billing correct. We were billed for laundry service we never used. We received a happy birthday gift card in someone else's name. We were double billed for a spa treatment. And we got charges to our credit card that exceeded what we were supposed to be billed for the final sign and sail total. The ports were great though, had the most fun in Cabo which coincided with the best weather we had the entire cruise. Puerto Vallarta was ruined by unseasonable torrential rain, not the fault of Carnival of course. And debarkation took forever. They start with people on deck 1 who didn't check luggage and work their way up. They got to deck 6 then started calling people who checked luggage. It took almost 2 hours to get to deck 9 and then another 30-45 minutes to get through customs. I'm not sure I'm cruising Carnival again, I think I need to cruise another line to see if the entire industry has gone down hill or it is just Carnival that is the problem. Or maybe it was just a product of a new ship and crew still learning? I hope that is what it can be chalked up to. Read Less

First off, the ship is new and definitely nice. I appreciated knowing everything would be somewhat clean and barely used. Rooms were decently sized and our ocean view on the 1st floor had 2 bathroom for just the two of us, which was appreciated. However, some big gripes. They charge extra for a lot. Specialty restaurants, items on the menu every night, internet is a huge rip off, $1.25 per game arcade, and much much more. I was not willing to spend extra for anything and it really felt like 40% of the experience was missed. While I know that isn't true, it just felt that way and that I was missing out on a lot of what the ship had to offer. The cruise ran out of Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Peroni, certain basic wines, and much more with 3 days left on the trip... I am not sure how that is possible. Do they not have accurate estimates on how much they need to have on board? The dining experience was lacking. We ate in the dining room where you choose your time. Each night we had a different waiter and they were slow and it took a while every night. The main issue I had with the dining room was that the dinners and desserts always came out luke warm as if they had been sitting for a while. Entrees were warm and ice cream on the desserts was melted every single night of the cruise. The last 2 nights I stopped ordering entrees and desserts and just went to the buffet or pizza afterwards (I had to go to the dining room to be with extended family for dinner). The cruise is packed and every morning people had their beach chairs picked out by 9am. Anything left after 10am was in the wind and cold locations. No one would be sitting in the beach chairs until noon, but there was no enforcements and people just left towels clipped to the chairs. Read Less

My wife and I picked this cruise despite the fact we swore we wouldn’t sail with Carnival again after our last trip a couple years ago. Compared to NCL and RC, we just weren’t impressed with our last cruise. But we booked because we wanted a quick weekend getaway on the cheap. Well we got what we paid for. First off, if you have even slight concerns about motion sickness, avoid this ship at all costs. It has no stabilizers so you can feel every wave. Even with my bonine pills, I still had occasional moments of queeziness. The ship is relatively small compared to others I’ve sailed. So the entertainment options were kind of limited. The pools are not really that kid friendly and there aren’t a lot of things available to entertain kids, so it’s not an ideal family cruise compared to others we’ve been on. They had a water slide but it’s not accessible from the main pool deck so you can’t keep a close eye on the kids if you want to sun bathe while they slide. The dining was mediocre at best. The main dining room had pretty standard options each night. The “Featured Vegetarian” entree was the exact same dish all three nights. Not great for my wife. Seriously? They couldn’t come up with 3 different entrees? I had a pork chop on the first night which was tough and dry. The other dishes were decent but nothing compared to the elegant dishes I had on NCL and RC. Breakfast room service was a bit of a joke. We normally order it out of convenience but their offerings were extremely limited if you didn’t want an extra charge. We could get fruit, cereal, danishes, yogurt cups, juices, and coffee. Basic Continental breakfast. No hot plates. One of our bananas was half mush and the melons were all under ripe and flavorless. We went to the main dining room after the first morning. Much better options, which were quite good. The stateroom was clean, with the one exception of a leftover sock in one of the cabinets. The air conditioning was impossible to adjust. We had a thermostat but it didn’t appear to do anything. Always chilly in our room. And it was incredibly noisy. Constantly sounded like we were on an airplane. It was that loud. The ship is in desperate need of a makeover though. Lots of salt-wear on deck rails, chipped paint, etc... The mandatory safety briefing was not great. They communicated relatively well but never gave us a warning for when the alarms would sound. They just blasted in our tiny stateroom and scared us to death! Just give us a heads up. My one real complaint was regarding their prohibited items policy. We have packed a small power strip for every cruise we’ve ever taken, including our last Carnival cruise. This time they confiscated it before we embarked. I pointed to their website policy that says power strips are an exception (they said with careful use, whatever that’s supposed to mean) but they refused to return it until the end of the cruise. They had no explanation for why I was allowed to use it on our last cruise, nor why it was such an objectionable item. They basically just said, sorry not sorry. The stateroom only had one US compatible receptacle. How are we supposed to charge two phones and two watches at night? Again, the ship is out-dated. With regard to entertainment, the only show we saw was one of the comedians. We went to the PG show so it seemed he felt restricted in his act considering there was a 10 yr old in the front row. He wasn’t all that great to be honest, but in fairness he had a pretty quiet crowd. We did listen to a few musicians at random times. They were alright. Nothing spectacular. Found it funny when we went to a bar that advertised “acoustic jams” and were greeted by a blues musician playing electric guitar. Must be that “new” acoustic all the kids are talking about! He wasn’t bad though. As usual, there was lots of attempted upselling for photos, drinks, art auctions etc... Pretty typical in our experience. We did actually buy a couple of photos from the studio photographer on the Cruise Elegant night. She did a nice job. The prints were overpriced but good quality. Speaking of Cruise Elegant night, the dining room was not strict on the dress code for that evening. There were plenty of guests in T-shirts and jeans. We took one excursion but it wasn’t booked through the cruise line so I’ll rate it separately. Overall, we made the most of it. Easily our least favorite of all our cruises but for the price it wasn’t awful. We spent plenty of time relaxing. Not much on deck due to chilly temperatures but still pretty comfortable. If you are a local resident to the Miracle’s embarkation point, it might be a nice weekend booze cruise. But not worth an expensive flight and long term vacation expectations. Read Less

1. The staff drill that began at 9:30am one day and featured extremely loud alarms and constant talking IN OUR STATEROOM completely terrified our two year old and woke us all up. It was completely unnecessary and we had no warning. 2. The entire ship smelled like cigarette smoke. It really agitated my family's asthma during the cruise. A lot of people smoke in the casino with open airways to the rest of the ship, and I'm pretty sure they also smoke in their rooms because we smelled strong smoke smells everywhere, including the Camp Ocean area. 3. The boat is difficult to maneuver around. Camp Ocean makes us walk from one end of the ship to the other through many hallways. Very hard with a toddler. They could at least have an elevator or staircase that goes up to it. Also, the Lido deck food area has an inconvenient set-up. 4. The buffets and dining room are not open long enough and usually only briefly open for breakfast and dinner. Most of the time, it was a struggle to find any food except pizza and sandwiches. 5. Camp Ocean does not follow their own scheduled times and activities. A few times when we went to drop off during open hours, they were closed. And at times when the schedule said arts, crafts, party, fun activities, games, etc, it was always just "kids choice" which means unstructured free play with toys or watching a movie. My kid does that all the time at home. I was hoping for something different on board. Also, the room looks super boring. Same color blue carpet, walls, and ceiling with very low lighting. Read Less

Class Reunion was to take place on this Cruise Ship. It was set up by the worst Travel Agent in Tehachapi, CA.......... No Meeting set up anywhere... No information provided... That was a worthless gathering... We felt totally left out................ The "Masquerade Ball" lacked music and dancing... So, it was just people in costumes, or not... who barely spoke to each other. Nothing really. The Inspiration ship pales in comparison to others, such as the Miracle or Imagination... Tea Time, has always been a pleasant experience, and we have always looked forward to attend those. This time, we were told: "Lipton Tea is complimentary, but, the others are $2.00."........ Instead of individual tea pots, they just poured water in the cups............... So, corners are cut................. and what used to be elegant, has faded down to........... We Cruise often. We enjoy it. It is a luxury........ We see corners cut, and Grandeur is lost. The reason for this post, is a WARNING to all who enjoy Cruising as we do........... Much to my dismay, I must inform, and warn people, of Fraud and Thievery on Cruises. My wallet was in the top, zippered exterior part of my suitcase, in the closet, in the cabin. The ONLY person who ever entered the room, was the Room Attendant. On the way to the Parking Garage, I had counted the cash in my wallet because we needed that to pay our Handyman upon return from the trip. I did not use any of the Cash. My husband had plenty of Cash in his wallet, the Cruise and Excursions had all been pre-paid, and we had Credit Cards for Souvenirs. When our Handyman came, I reached in my wallet to pay him, and discovered the missing money... The next day, I discovered that my Social Security Card was also missing... The Room Attendant was very clever........ He left one $20. and the singles, so, I still had a stack of money, but the in-between was all gone. He also placed an other card from my wallet, where the Social Security Card was... My Social Security Card has my name and signature, which is easy to replicate.............. I feel violated. This is Fraud and Thievery. Carnival Cruise Line was immediately informed, upon each discovery, and so far, has not done a thing..................... I believe that such a report should remove the Room Attendant from accessing any other cabins, ever. He can work other posts, but, not be allowed in cabins. He can't be trusted. He should be investigated, because, this is not just Cash.......... but, a Social Security Card... What does he do with Social Security Cards? There is usually a safe in most cabins. From now on, we'll have to use it. I never, ever, expected a Room Attendant to take anything............ Now, we will never trust any of them................ I think that we will refuse them entry to clean. We can make our own bed. An other point, Cruises are charging a tip on our bill. This should NOT be allowed. We should tip what we want, if we want.......... It should NOT be mandatory... Our cabin did not have a fridge............ Chocolate covered strawberries were in our cabin when we arrived, but, without refrigeration, soon had a black fur coat, and had to be discarded... Our cabin was FAR from the elevators, and so, we had to walk a lot............. Elderly people should not be placed so far away from elevators. The Mardi-Gras Dining Room was a nightmare to enter........... There is a sign that reads: " Go up one level to come down..." We searched each and every single day... No matter how we went, we were always wrong... We went to the other Dining Room, and were TURNED AWAY......... We were told that we were assigned to the other Dining-Room ONLY. All in all........... we never want to go back on Inspiration............. Read Less

Reasonable prices... yet the cruise is crying out for remodeling looks like an old vegas casino. Smells very much like one too, alcohol n cigarettes . I don’t feel is family friendly as the bar is right next to the pool. People were too drunk we saw 3 fights not something I want my kids to experience on our family vacation. The pool I feel is too small for everyone on board it gets too crowded... the main activities took place on the days where you can get offthe ship, and the actual day when everyone stays on board not much to see or do.... In regards of the food not much vegan or vegetarian options but like anywhere else is all about getting creative with your options. But the high light of the trip has to be dinner, the staff is amazing made us feel like royalty..... Not sure if I would spend my money on a cruise again maybe I can try a different cruise line, definitely a resort is the way to go, for us as a family. Read Less

I went on this ship as it was the only thing available at the last minute when trying to find a cruise to take my 30y.o. sister on who has never cruised before. I had done this itinerary twice before (Ensenada twice and Catalina Island once) and I had done this ship before in 2015 being in a wedding as my friend was married on it. The ship looks old, worn, and dirty. We saw crew members dusting the walls in the morning but important things like cleaning our oceanview window so we could have a clear view outside and pickup up trash in the public bathrooms were missed. The handwashing machine near Blue Iguana didn't work properly most of the time, just flashing a red light and and hand sanitizer near there was never filled. The bathroom nearest the buffet on port side, the air dreyer never worked and there were no paper towels available. Within 20min of boarding the ship we sat down in the buffet to eat lunch and the wooden bench part of the seat in one of the booths completely fell off the bench making my sister almost fall. Two crewmembers walked by, saw it was broken, and did nothing. Certain coffee makers and other drink dispensers didn't work the entire cruise. Our sheets had holes and there was only one outlet in the whole room. The food in the dining room was more miss than hit and no one encouraged hand washing like they do on NCL. I rarely touched the ladles and spoons to serve myself, using a blue cloth napkin instead, yet I'm still sick the day after the cruise. The casino house edge on roulette is insane with Carnival adding a B (bonus) green space to the the standard 0/00. The lady running the trivia was unfamiliar with the subject matter of some of the trivia games and while generally having people from all over the world work on the ship is an amazing display of diversity, in this case it made trivias less fun when you can't understand the host. Not only when running the Harry Potter trivia was she unaware of simple things like Ron's last name being pronounced Weasley and not Wesley but the second question asked was WRONG! "Of the three main characters, who is the oldest?" The correct answer is Hermione, yet on her sheet (and clearly because she's not versed on the subject matter to know otherwise) the answer says Ron, which is incorrect and leaves a damper on the experience itself when those running a trivia don't know the correct answers. German C, the DJ on board always looked like he hated being there. Nightclub hits was supposed to start at 11:30 in the dance club but normally he didn't stop playing oldschool or 90's hits until 12:15am or later making the fun of dancing to current music only last about 45min or so. Also, our server on the third night in Mardi Gras was not very kind nor patient. And the person staffing the pizza area in the back of the buffet always had an attitude as if you were bothering him. The Cruise Director Ryan Rose was great and so was his right hand man 'Fernando(?)'. They were the positives of the cruise. The two shows in the theaters while short and had basic choreography and wasn't anything new or exciting, was still entertaining and the male lead singer/dancer was very good. My sister enjoyed the nightclub but wished they played current hits starting earlier in the night since it ended early. Too many times she tried to eat a caesar salad but it either had too much or too little dressing no matter how she specified it. Overall she enjoyed herself so in my opinion if you haven't been on many cruises, or haven't been on new and large ships or haven't stayed in a balcony cabin before and don't have much to compare it too you may enjoy this cruise for a quick getaway if you are local to the area. We expected magnificent decor but ended up on a Pink ship. The adult Serenity area was quiet but shabby. Deck chairs were splattered with paint. Cushions were worn, threadbare. Windows were hard to see through. There were worn rusted areas on the decks. Food on Lido deck was usually lukewarm or cold. Golden Pearl restaurant Creme brûlée’s was like my own egg custard, not real creme brûlée. Food was nice, but not at the level we expected. Strange decor looked like fried eggs overhead. The restaurant was a frustration just to get to as you have to go either down or up several decks to get to the back of the ship and then go back down... took us a while to find dinner. Kids took over main pool area. Extremely noisy. Impossible to use that pool. We will cruise with another cruise line. (Previously cruised on the Pride. It was a very different experience.) Read Less

We took this cruise to celebrate a friend's birthday. The cost was right and it seemed like a good time was awaiting us on the ocean. Let me start with, THE GOOD: Good friends Funny times at Karaoke The Tequila part of the Ensenada tour THE BAD: The food was awful. Dinner was not served on time nor at a temperature, you would consider "warm". On one evening, a friend paid for the upcharged "surf and turf", watched all of us eat our "lukewarm" meal, and still hadn't eaten his (after an hour and 25 minutes). Not until we got up to walk around and look for the food service manager did his food arrive. The service was forgettable. How do you include a gratuity on a final bill when the service you received was terrible. Water started with ice then, you'd receive a warm second glass. I'd ask for a coca cola and by the time we were ready to leave the table, the drink would arrive. The excursion is dangerous, in a sense. You take 20 people out to drink beer and tequila, then you entrust them to walk back to the boat on their own?!?! I get it, it's a tasting, but the sensible thing to do would be to make sure "EVERYONE" is transported back to the boat at the same time, the same way we left the boat... TOGETHER... Our bed felt like to twin mattresses pushed together and didn't offer a great rest. Read Less

So I would like to start with a positive. The embarkation process was super easy and organized this was better than on Celebrity, Royal , or Norwegian. We knew that this was an older ship and we really only booked this as a quick getaway from LA to a few places we’d never been to before. Upon arrival to our stateroom , the attendant (who was lovely) informed us that there was no hand soap. They were waiting for it to get on the ship but there wasn’t any yet. I immediately began to panic - if all 2,000 guests are using the bathroom and then not using hand soap , that’s a health issue. So I called guest services to inquire - she told me to use shower gel for now but that I most likely misunderstood the stateroom attendant bc he just didn’t have any on “his” cart. We were then given a bar for each of our staterooms. Day one - 15 minutes on the ship my son uses the bathroom and it begins to back up. We flushed again and it all went down - I blamed my son for maybe using too much paper but he swears he didn’t . Later on after dinner I come back to the room and use the bathroom and it flushed but then would t fill entirely up with water again. Well, I woke up at 4 am to the toilet backed up and a wet floor - I was nauseous thinking about this - called maintenance right away , they came and fixed it and then never cleaned it until our regularly scheduled housekeeping! This was now grossing me out. As we are disembarking in Catalina we had to wait for the tenders down this long corridor and the stench of sewage or garbage began to resonate , luckily before I hurled I remembered that we had laid “faster to the fun” pricing and asked if that meant we could board the tenders first - Thank God! The smell in that hallway where they had people waiting like cattle to board the tenders was unbearable. The smell of garbage lingered and got worse as we got closer to the end of the cruise. Other People on board noticed it too and a few who had been on this ship before thought it was normal. I have never been on a ship where the smell of raw sewage and garbage was ever prominent on guest decks. Bizzaro - Anywho the food was fantastic! The cantina was our favorite and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Orlando , the cruise director , must be the hardest working cruise director in crushing history. He was EVERYWHERE. He’s a sweet man and made everything fun. The shows for the little ones were great - the kids club watched movies and drew which my kids found boring , the casino was fantastic - Maggie was an amazing dealer who was friendly and personable. The Bingo situation seemed rigged to me - they had two bingos and the prize was supposed to be $5,000 - then each winner only won $250 - my kids were even like - wow what a letdown. Binging bradley went a little too fast on the end and never gave anyone a moment to “catch up” the numbers weren’t on the board while he was verifying - you kind of got the vibe that they didn’t want you to win lol. Which I guess they don’t . Anywho - this was my 2nd Carnival cruise and I loved the staff, the food , and the entertainment- but what are they doing about the most important aspect - hygiene?? Not the place you want to cut corners. We managed to enjoy our time - but I was severely disturbed by how dirty everything seemed . We sat by a window for dinner and you could not see at all out the window - it seemed to have Layers of grime on them. Sorrry if I’m being too harsh on this older ship - but you’ve got to make some changes. If this were my first cruise experience I would have to say - never again! Read Less

A 40th Birthday Celebration with nearly 20 friends was fun, but could've been a better experience. To be fair, this was my very first cruise, so I have no other cruise ships to compare it to, but I do have a lot of experience traveling as I work in the travel industry. Also, I set my expectation fairly low, and it was about accurate. The level that our cabin was located on, Floor 6, Upper Deck, smelled like raw sewage for the last 2 full days and had industrial equipment in the hallways, so I was not sure if something happened or if it is just a regular issue with that ship. FOOD The majority of the hot food was barely served warm, and the broccoli on my main entree plate in the fine dining room was still frozen. There was no sauce on my plate, so I just asked for a side of ranch dressing to add flavor. The baked potato was also cold in the middle. DRINKS The beer selection was fairly varied, in that they had a lager, an IPA, and even a gluten free beer, however, not a lot of craft beer options and the only draft beer I saw was the self serve Miller Lite in the buffet area. The higher end selection of liquor that was included in the adult drink package was great, but when I tried to order an Aperol Spritz, I had an issue with several bartenders, who gave me attitude because they were not allowed to mix a champagne cocktail, so one refused to even make the drink, and another would only give me a glass of champagne first, then wait 5 minutes to charge my drink card for a shot of Aperol on the side and a glass of ice, (there is a waiting period between the number of drinks a guest is allowed to consume in a certain time period). So, I then got charged for 2 drinks, and had to make the drink myself which was ridiculous! Also, it should be noted that this was my first drink of the day, so I was completely sober. ENTERTAINMENT The comedian was hilarious!! The dancers were great! I wish they had a movie theatre or better wifi. I bought the wifi package before I embarked but it was not working so well, so I cancelled it and just used the Carnival App to connect with friends. I made the mistake of staying on the ship when we arrived in Mexico, and there were very limited options of things to do for the day on the ship. The weather was super cold (50's) and really windy, so laying by the pool or going down the water slides was not really an option. The casino was closed, as were the shops and theatre's and even the majority of bars & restaurants were closed until the late afternoon. SAFETY The safety demo that was required, was completely pointless. They made us wait a really long time to even enter the theatre and then all they showed us was how to put on a life vest and kept us in there for far too long to be shown even that. Overall, I think I would go on another cruise line to be able to compare it, but I would never go on another Carnival Cruise again. Not my cup of tea. If you value food, aesthetics, and a higher caliber of service, pay a few dollars more and choose another cruise line. Read Less

I chose this cruise because of the low cost (ha! you get what you pay for!) and the allure of a *fun* experience. The first disappointment was with the room's ventilation system. Freezing cold! To moderate the air flow you had to REACH up to a knob above one of the beds. This was pretty high up...I don't know how a person who is vertically challenged would manage it (I am 5'8"}. There was a horrible odor in the room as well...like a Sulphur smell which made it hard to relax. Turning the system all the way "off" made the room become stuffy since there was then no circulation. I could not breathe at night and woke up puffy eyed and stuffed up. Food: Bad. Very bad. The main dining room, the Mardi Gras, had beautiful menus with descriptions that did not match the actual food being served. A shrimp cocktail arrived on a plate. Not around the rim of a glass. Shrimp were small and flaccid. My Mahi Mahi was overcooked. The so-called grilled chicken breast looked like a Tyson frozen breast with grill marks (although it was moist). Baked potatoes were overcooked and flavorless. I could go on and on. Very disappointing. The food on the Lido deck, for lunch, was just a tad better. The hamburger joint was good. The desserts were good some days, just ok the others. Self serve ice cream station was good. The chocolate chip cookies tasted homemade and were stellar. There was "tea time" on Valentine's Day which was a joke. The tea offerings: Lipton and Green tea. That was it. Unless you wanted to pay out of pocket for herbal. Outrageous. Spa: Clean and well appointed with shiowers, sauna and steam. I enjoyed both the steam and sauna. Treated myself to a pedicure and was hustled to buy every product she used on my feet!!! Not a relaxing experience at all. Weather: Not the ship's fault, but it was terrible. Rained almost every day including the port stop in Ensenada. Not happiness. Could not sunbathe on deck or read. There were a couple of really bad days with the waves in the ocean really rocking and swaying the ship. In the cabin, in the bed, it felt like someone was shaking and tilting the bed frame! Scary. Adult Only deck: The "Serenity Deck" was for adults only. Small but ok. The lounge chairs were plentiful but did not position in a "straight sitting up" position. The straight back chairs were in the back, away from the great views of the water. There was a waiter that came around to take drink orders. Elevators: Very hard to navigate and figure out "what" was "where" and the best way to get there. Cleanliness of ship: Very clean. Carpets, elevators, glass panes in doors. This was impressive. Entertainment: I don't gamble so can't comment on the casions. I attended a couple of comedian shows that were unprofessional and crudely funny, making fun of audience members instead of relying on their own material. Karaoke, however, was entertaining! Drinks: After the tax and gratuity were (automatically) added, all drinks were $11+. I had brought my own Diet Coke onboard so saved that way. I bought the 12-pack bottled water package and that actually lasted for the 5 days for 2 people. Library: Didn't get a chance to really enjoy this room. The times I wanted to go were after dinner (7) and it was being used for the "Chef's Table" sitting. Can't they find somewhere else for this? Staff: Very accommodating and friendly and concerned about any problem brought to them. I complained at just about every meal and every effort was made to satisfy me. Unfortunately, I still wasn't satisfied but at least they tried with a smile. Running into staff in the hallways and asking for directions was not a problem. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Embarking and disembarking: Very organized and fluid. No problems, there. That's about all I can think of right now. I think this was not the ship for me. I like a little more "high end" dining experience and a higher caliber of entertainment. Read Less

After traveling on 25 cruises with different lines we have always enjoyed Carnival even though we are platinum members with other lines. While anyone can find something to complain about if they look we usually take things in stride as we make our own vacation and enjoy meeting people from all over the world. I must say though that this cruise was the worst we have ever had and the service was seriously lacking in places you would expect it to be good at such as the Steakhouse. We have eaten many times in the Steakhouse and while some meals are better than others the service has always been wonderful. This time the service was so bad that we cancelled our second reservation that we had. Just did not seem to have enough people working in the restaurant. Took forever to be seated as the hostess just disappeared. They have raised the prices which we had no problem with but they admitted to us that they had changed their menu and others had made negative comments as well. As to dining in the dining rooms we booked our cruise in April and requested second dining at a large table to meet new people. We had a confirmation however when we got to the ship we noticed that no table was listed on our room card. Simple they switched us to anytime dining at their discretion which we did not want. No big deal as we went to the dining room that afternoon to have them change it. That is when we met the rudest person we have ever met in 25 cruises. I had my confirmation which she grabbed out of my hand and tossed it on the counter and said that it came from corporate. I booked thru Carnival so what does corporate have to do with it. She would not even explain anything. Said she would find us a table but we would sit at a table for two people. Now I found that amusing. Just rude. So we ended up just eating at other places. I also had guest services switch all the gratuities from the ding room to the cabin steward. Not paying them for nothing and we didn't want the money back so the cabin steward and his assistant got it all. They deserved it. Let me say that the crew on this ship was wonderful as they always are. They try to please passengers to the best of their ability and they succeed from what I have seen on all our cruises. The one lady was not going to ruin our trip but she sure left a lasting impression. It will be a long time before I will go on another Carnival ship or any in it's group if ever. Other passengers were complaining as well about the food and things but we just didn't want all the negatives so we just agreed and went on about our trip. The spa was great and we purchased the couples package to use the pools, saunas, and relaxing rooms and had unlimited use in them. It was worth every dime as we used it several times. We paid $219.00 for both of us for the seven night cruise we were on to mexico. Spa personnel were always smiling and quick to offer any help you might need. Very clean and enjoyable. It was the best part of our trip. Getting thru check in was easy and took less than ten minutes after we got to the terminal in Long Beach. Easiest and quickest we have ever been on a ship. Got into our cabins about 1:30. So this was a pleasant change from past cruises. Debarking was as always a little bit of turmoil but it always is but honestly it wasn't that bad. We have been to Cabo, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta many times so did not book excursions but went into town to buy the trinkets for the grand kids lol. The port of Puerto Vallarta is torn up with all the buildings and it is a fair distance to get to the Market in Puerto Vallarta. If you watch there will be little shuttles that will take you to the market free of charge. They are not marked so you have to watch. They will stop and ask if you want a ride. We walked most of the way but caught in going back. The market at the port is always a favorite as the vendors there are always appreciate you coming to their store and have always been friendly. Don't let the building going on stop you from going. It is safe and had no problems at all. We had a balcony cabin and it was always spotless thanks to our stewards. Can't say enough about them as they again were just fun to be around and always laughing. They said we needed to mess our cabin up more as it was always too organized LOL. They were just fun guys. Entertainment was so so as expected on the ship. We went to the outdoor movie one night but people were playing in the pool so they turned up the sound that it drove people away. They should shut the pool for the two hours that the movie is playing for a better experience but each passenger deserves to do what they want as well so we just went for walks on the ship. The ship is always clean and they are always painting something to keep up with the maintenance but they never closed any venue to do it that I saw. Bottom line is the dining was definately sub par as the service when it came to dining and while I am not a food person the dining is a part of your experience. It took a lot away from the cruise in itself. We had a good time as we chose not too let it bother us while on the cruise but some cannot do that and their trip was just completely ruined from what we were told. Sad that it happened but due to cutbacks I guess it should have been expected. Any cruise is a good cruise. Enjoy them as we who take them are fortunate to even be going.. Read Less

We did not have our room cleaned the entire trip due to not trusting the housekeeping staff. Unfortunately my husband left his ring on the bathroom shelf. We made a lost report and they have told us three times they could find it. There is no way housekeeping could have missed it. It’s unfortunate they hire liars and thieves to clean your room. I am very disappointed in the staff. The food was average and the 24hour pizza tastes like frozen pizza. The drinks were over priced and weak for the value. The entertainment was average and boring. The comedians they hired was the best part of the cruise. We watched all of the shows they provided. The water slides they had were freezing cold so no one was on them. Never going back--even if free So there are good things about this cruise. 1. SOME of the staff were very nice. The guy who cleaned our room was amazing-super friendly and always greeted us with a smile. The girls working the excursions. . BUT we had a few VERY BAD THINGS. 1. The FOOD WAS HORRIBLE across the board. It was like bad, cheap mall food and there was hardly any available. The food at dinner was a little better, but two nights, I didn't even eat because it was so yucky. Cold, soggy, smelled "off", and it was obvious that it was premade. In the Mardi Gras room, I tried to eat there twice with no luck. Bad service--one guy got really mad that I didn't want coffee and the next day the guy kept bringing me the wrong food. They tried hard, but it was bad. Room service was lackluster and they charged for everything. 2. There wasn't much to do on the ship except drink and since so much of the ship was filled with smokers, it was bad. 3. They didn't explain anything to us and when we asked we got yelled at. We were very confused much of the time (it was our first cruise)*** come back to this. 4. Excursions were very expensive and they were super unorganized--getting off the ship etc. It was chaotic. 5. The "safety" thing was just the cruise director taking roll and telling us what shows were coming up. And he mentioned that kids had armbands. We would have been screwed had anything happened. 6. Our stateroom was FREEZING. I had on three shirts, a sweatshirt, two pairs of thick socks, a hat, gloves and a scarf and got under the covers. There was no way to warm up. The shower was lukewarm. So we FROZE. It was warmer on the deck in the rain and 50 degrees. I caught a really bad cold and was coughing. It was so uncomfortable. When I asked the man who cleaned our room he said that was how it was. It was like camping, outside, in the winter. This was probably the thing that was the hardest to deal with. 7. The internet for $59 was super slow and you couldn't even access the app without it. Only one person can be on it. 8. The hallway and room smelled like rotting feces at all times. (E78) 9. We were by the atrium where they had parties and loud music and games from early morning til midnight or later. THE WORST WAS this one lady at the guest services. We asked her how to disembark on day three--we thought we should know. She started immediately yelling at us to "turn on the tv!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" when I explained that on the Carnival TV channel there was only ads and a cartoon explaining how to put on a life jacket she got more angry. She told us to TURN ON THE TV!!!! IT WAS ON THERE. Then I suggested that the rooms should have a book or something with information like hotels do---she got upset again. She demanded to know why we were confused. I said that for example we had no idea where to eat or anything and that's when she lost her mind. She literally said, "JESUS CHRIST!!!" and then called me a B**ch Then put her hand up and refused to answer any questions. We were then AFRAID to ask anyone anything. I was in tears at that point because I hadn't eaten all day (due to the lack of food choices) and just wanted an explanation of what time we could leave on Friday morning. There was no need to be nasty. I even explained that it was our first cruise. I left in tears. I asked a man in the hallway to see a manager and he told me that there was no such thing on Carnival cruises and that guest services were the boss. I explained what happened and he said that was up to them how to treat people. Then I said, "so you could verbally abuse me and no one would do anything, not even the captain?" He confirmed. I was crying. I went outside to sit on deck nine to calm down, because there was nothing we could do to get help. I got locked outside for 45 minutes. :( I don't know if I will get a lawyer because of he behavior, but honestly verbally abusing guests is UNCALLED FOR. Also she NEVER told us how to do anything. I went down there at 3 am and asked someone else. To end on a good note, the guys in the dining hall were amazing. Once we figured out where to go and went there every night at 8:15, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Sadly this was our honeymoon and because the stateroom smelling like poop, being about 50 degrees, and being called names and cursed out. It ruined it for us. I am drafting a letter---the old fashioned way and mailing it to them. I hope they refund at least half or it, but even if they do, we aren't going back. It was really, really, really bad. PROS: some of the staff, and the people we met, the comedy shows were good, the entertainment shows were good. CONS: Food, some of the staff, freezing & stinky rooms, no hot water in shower, general confusiong, loud parties outside our room. Read Less

We took this cruise because it was convenient to where we live and we wanted to experience the Mexican Pacific coast. The cruise started off well but the food was of poor quality. The instant mashed potatoes had the consistency of applesauce. Meats were either well over-cooked or undercooked. The fried chicken was so overcooked it was almost black and hard and stringy. They ran out of sprouts for salads by the third day. The fruit was often mushy and overripe. Where they served burgers we found them and the fries were served close to room temperature as was the mayonnaise which was discolored on top and may have been the cause of my wife's diarrhea, vomiting, and upset stomach that ruined the last two days of the trip for us. The evening shows were well below the standard we came to expect on our previous cruise. However, the comedy shows were good except we missed the last two days since my wife was not feeling well. Our shore excursions at the first two ports were well worth the cost. Due to heavy rain, we were allowed to cancel the excursion at the last port of call. Read Less

I’d have to say I was disappointed this year with Carnival Inspiration as I compare it to last year’s cruise because: The ship needs updating badly, there were not enough adult activities during the day, in the adult only deck section (which is extremely hard to find)- there was no bar, guest services was unfriendly along with several bartenders, the food was subpar in the buffet area, there were no areas where food was offered during non-meal times (which Carnival Victory had and I hear a lot of other ships do too), the safety check in Muster C was a waste of time because you couldn’t see the person on stage demonstrating or hear the overhead announcement for safety instructions, you also couldn’t hear the overhead announcements while in the cabins so if you’re not in the hallway or a common area- you don’t know what they’re trying to tell you. I would say Orlando (cruise director) and Alvin (Orlando’s assistant) did a PHENOMINAL job with entertainment. I wish they hosted more activities during the day for adults though, because there were hour stents when there was nothing to do but sit at a bar or on a deck (it was a bit cool, so we barely used the deck). Jodi (stand up comedian) was GREAT and had me laughing so hard that I cried. Mon (our housekeeper) was OUTSTANDING. Mon had great customer service and attended to our request quickly. I was also disappointed there was not a deal on he pictures. Not even the day we left the ship. There were just so many times that I didn’t feel there was adequate customer service. Next year, I’m not sure I would give Carnival another try because I hear so many great reviews about Royal Caribbean. I would like to express how great of a time I had during the horseback riding excursion in Ensanada. Jose was our guide and he did an AWESOME job. All the men at the horseback riding place were personable, made sure we were safe during the ride through the mountains and provided us an overall meaningful experience. Read Less

My wife and I took the seven day Mexico cruise out of Los Angeles. Unfortunately, we were not particularly impressed by the Splendor. Having cruised with Carnival many times, we were expecting better food. But there was no Guy Fieri hamburger joint on this ship, and the Splendor's poolside hamburgers were meh. The pizza served at the 24 hour Pizza Pirate was so so. In particular, the crust was crummy. On other Carnival ships, you can see that the dough is freshly made and the pizza guys are spinning the pie crusts right in front of you. Not on the Splendor, where I could see the crust was premade. Even the Indian buffet open for lunch was not as good as on other Carnival ships. As far as entertainment, the Splendor was pretty much like other Carnival ships. But the trivia was poor. Some of the folks hosting the trivia seemed uninterested, and in the past there have been varied prizes, but on the Splendor only the “ship on a stick.” Jeez, how many of those can you take home with you. My wife and I will be steering clear of the Splendor from now on. Read Less
