Purchased four balcony cabins for the 10 individuals in our family group, ages 12 to 70, Use Carnival for the many activities for the younger members to enjoy not as available on other cruise lines, and Los Angeles so no one would have to fly to the embarkation port. For most of the group, this was their first cruise.
In Cabo, all went to a swim with the Dolphins excursion, thouroughly enjoyable ...
For the 2nd year in a row, we spent Thanksgiving on the 7 day Mexican Riviera cruise. Here is a brief review and some tips:
Embarkation: At Long Beach you first check your luggage with a porter on the ground floor of the parking garage (not at the check-in area which is across the street). If you arrive early (before noon), you are sent to the Queen Mary to check in. If you arrive after boarding ...
After cruising with Celebrity a few years back (Fantastic) and on the Golden Princess (very good) we were a little apprehensive about carnival considering some of the negative reviews. Anyway, we booked and left LA on the 17th November 2013. Embarkation was very slow and unorganized. We were shuffled from one check in place to the next, and it seemed that no carnival staff could tell us why or ...
I was disappointed with Carnival. It was easily two steps down from the Celebrity Sillouhette cruise I took this summer. Huge, slow line to get onboard at Long Beach.
The good:
1. Plenty of elevators so getting around was easy
2. Obstructed view balcony room was a good deal and a large, comfortable room
3. Plenty of tables to eat, lots of deck chairs
4. The $35 restaurant was a ton of food ...
The name Miracle might be what Carnival was shooting for, what they delivered is another thing. Not my first cruise, but it could be my last. Cruise was a 7 night from LA, Sea, Cabo, Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, Sea, Sea. I'll be fair in all aspects. Traveled with my family of 5 on two extended balconies. rooms 5140 and 6226
Embarkation: Completely smooth process. Plenty of baggage handlers to help you ...
We had a relaxing cruise aboard the Miracle in an aft extended view balcony and wanted to share the good, the great, and the minor bummers. I am 40, my husband 50 and our son is 4. This was a 40th birthday cruise for me. Probably our 14th cruise or so, but who is counting?! We’d repeat this trip because it was an overall excellent value and great experience.
Faster to the Fun:
I’ll start with ...
I will note that our cruise was an Atlantis cruise (a gay cruise charter) and so I am unable to review certain elements that were provided by Atlantis, rather than Carnival.
Embarcation: We paid for the "Faster to the Fun" upgrade and were able to bypass the line. I can't suggest this enough. Carnival's embarcation process is as dehumanizing and stressful as a TSA checkpoint on the Wednesday ...
This is probably the 5th Carnival cruise I have taken, and I don't know that I'll take another. The selection of food at the buffets is smaller, and unlike on other cruises, did not vary much day to day. In the formal dining room, we were disappointed that they could not accommodate all 12 of us traveling together at one table, as we've had in the past-in fact, we couldn't get more than a table ...
My co-worker and I went together, as she had only been on weekend - 3 day cruises. I'll try to keep this short and sweet.
Embarkation and debarkation was not smooth - almost atrocious. Even Platinum and we didn't get on the boat for almost 2 hours and debarkation was worse. People boarding for the next cruise probably didn't even get aboard until 3pm cause the line was so long to get off the ship ...
We took the Carnival Miracle to the Mexican Riviera October 6 ''" 13 (3 days at sea, 2 days in Cabo, 1 day in Puerto Vallarta). This was our second time on a Carnival ship. Here’s my assessment
Embarkation in Long Beach looked like a zoo at first, but wasn't bad at all once the line began moving at 12. Within an hour we were on the ship. Debarkation took forever because we didn't do the ...
