I just returned yesterday from a three night cruise to the Baja on Carnival Paradise.
First, to put this in perspective, I am certainly not a Carnival fan.
I choose my cruises based on itinerary, timing and other factors.

My husband and I recently returned from cruising on the Carnival Paradise. I believe this is one of Carnival's older ships, but we were pleasantly surprised to find the ship spotlessly clean and well-maintained; loved the decor, and found the color choices a lot more appealing than other Carnival ships we have seen.

I pretty much agree with everything Bruin Steve had to say about the Carnival Paradise, although we didn't see any of the production shows. I live in near Long Beach and since Carnival has a monopoly on 3-Day Cruises around here, I would have to spend a lot of money to try other, more luxurious cruise lines. We arrived at the port in Long Beach around 12:45pm and it was the perfect time, as there were no lines to get in and we were directed to an open window to check in right away. This was Splendor's first sailing since the fire. We had booked way back in August 2010 and were worried that our cruise might be cancelled since we were the first one scheduled to go after so many cancellations.

We have taken this little Baja cruise four times now as quick little get-aways from work.
The ship is aged, but very clean and easy to navigate.
Boarding was quick and easy.

First of all, this was our 1st cruise ever. Went with great attitudes, left just ok with the whole experience. I myself am a 29 yr old female, traveled with 31 yr old husband, and 7 & 10 yr old girls.
