A Splendid Floating Wal Mart at Sea

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Carnival Splendor

The Carnival Splendor is indeed a beautiful ship (if you don't mind pink), and right off the bat, I will say that the quality of food served in either of the main dining rooms is excellent. My wife and I booked a Spa Stateroom (inside cabin) and we were not disappointed with the services offered in the Gym, Spa, and the other benefits from this upgrade, although be warned that the inside rooms ...

For our honeymoon we decided to go on a cruise to the Mexican Riviera because neither of us have traveled much and we figured it would be relaxing, safe and that we'd get to see a few of Mexico's popular ports. This seemed like a steal. Room and board with three ports. Almost immediately, things went south. My bride got a new job and we weren't sure she'd be able to go. On the very same day, I ...

First a little background information. This was our 10th cruise, 6th with Carnival. We had heard good things about the Carnival Spirit and I now we know why. We flew from Shreveport LA to San Diego a day early and stayed at the Holiday Inn on the bay. We splurged and got a balcony room on the 12th floor. It made for a fantastic view. We intended to get up early and watch the ship come in but ...

Just returned from a 7 night Mexican Riviera Cruise. I was looking forward to a relaxing easy time, a break from the normal day to day running of my family. I managed to get my girlfriend to run-away with me...we packed our bags, and left our husbands in charge of the kid's and off we went. I have sailed a bit in my past, over 15 cruises, and while mostly with HAL or Celebrity, my first cruise was ...

I had been on a 5 day cruise with Carnival before and absolutely LOVED the experience so I was looking forward to this 3-day to Baja for quite some time with my mother and two friends. The first thing we noted upon the ship was that hardly any of the staff was smiling or at all friendly for that matter. We greeted a few and either the smile was brief and somewhat annoyed or they just looked at us ...

What Happened to Carnival

My very first cruise, was the exact cruise, I just came back from. I was very disappointed to say the least. The service and food was sub-standard compared to our previous 3 cruises with Carnival. I was not expecting Carnival to be the quality that I have always experienced on Princess, but at least acceptable. Boarding went smooth and fairly quick. We met our cabin steward and other then ...

Embarkation-My traveling mate and myself flew in on the same day as our embarkation. Transfer through Carnival was very good. Once at the terminal, it was just as all of the reviews stated...Chaos! These people should learn from the Carnival terminal employees in Ft. Lauderdale. Thankfully, my cruise mate was a platinum member. The VIP lounge was not organized and the attendants were stressed. ...

We came in the day before our cruise 3/19 and stayed at the Embassy Suites North /LAX. We arrived at the Long Beach port around 2:15 it was really windy and raining a bit when we arrived. I was told after walking to the dome that we had to walk in the 50 MPH winds back to the Queen Mary to check in, then come back to the dome. The line at the Queen Mary was very short it took only 5 minutes to ...

Best Vacation Ever!!

I want to relate on what a great cruise we had when at one point just a few years ago, we were unsure if we would ever be able to take extended vacations again due to my 6 y/o's epilepsy and autistic conditions. I originally booked through the travel agency through USAA, but then found out about a program geared toward travelers like my son called Autism on the Seas. They can be reached at ...

Just returned from an amazing cruise on the Carnival Splendor!Embarkation: If there is one beef I had about the trip, it would be this. We checked in at the Queen Mary at Long Beach at about 11AM, a process which went smoothly - we were given a card with the number "10" on it to indicate which group we were boarding with. Now, you can do a tour of the Queen Mary if you like - fascinating ship to ...
