Disappointed
"In addition-no staff at those locations so the people who were already tired of lines and waiting - had the typical handful of people tryin to walk right up to the front of line and the arguing ensued-particularly because there was not a staff member in site to kindly point out the line. And seriously, I think kids should be loving the cruise and enjoying every bit of it-I don’t mind loud laughing kids having fun, they were just delinquents with no parental supervision and also not enough staff to keep them in any sort of a line: sitting on the chairs in the evening was near to impossible with kids screaming inappropriate stuff and spitting on each other and over a deck-comsistently-again not enjoyable...."Read More

Not my best experience

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Magic

First Time Cruiser • Age 40s

I have cruised with Carnival many many times (enough to be at Platinum status for a while now). First time on Carnival Magic. Embarkation: This was a piece of cake. Cabin: Adequate. We had a cove balcony which we always book. The mattress was awful though. Awful. Balcony was rusty and dirty most of the week. We expect it to be salty as it is close to the water, but this was dirty and ...

First, we loved the itinerary of our cruise, our favorite thus far and I’ve cruised for more than a decade. I prefer smaller ships and this was our first try on a larger ship. Compared to the Legend ship, the adults only area was horrible. The cushions were so worn and flat, people were doubling them up. And it didn’t seem as efficiently laid out so after people started doubling up on cushions ...

Child-centered activities & passengers - we're cruising another line next time

We chose this ship based on the itinerary and date, with the main goal to escape winter. Our group: two 50-something couples. Overwhelming: so many American children, why were they not in school? Even the comedians had to dumb-down their shows (unsuccessfully, btw) for the early shows. The late shows were much better. Disney cruise line has more for adults to do than Carnival. The adult-only area ...

Magic Trip following Nieuw Statendam

Chose this cruise after a two week Eastern/Western Caribbean on Nieuw Statendam because 2 weeks is not long enough for flying from Vancouver Island and Carnival Magic was going to Belize and Roatan where we hadn't been before. We also wanted to see how well Carnival did on a 7 day Caribbean Cruises as that seems to be their speciality. Like comparing Apples and Oranges but was pleasantly ...

Carnival Cruise - Miami

This was our third cruise, second time on Carnival. I was looking for a bigger ship. Although this was bigger than the Pride, it was not like our Royal cruise a few years ago. Biggest complaint, which I will put down as still learning cruising, was the excursions. One in Belize had to be canceled after we finally all got together, as we would not have had enough time to complete the trip ...

This is my honest review of my most recent cruise on the Carnival Magic- Cozumel Plus- from November 25th- December 2nd 2018. This was the 2nd cruise I’ve ever been on with Carnival, the first was in 2015 when we cruised on the Fantasy out of Charleston. I looked forward to this cruise, as we had an excellent time on our first cruise, and we wanted to take my brother-in-law on his first cruise as ...

Great bars, and entertainment, lousy dining room

The room stewards were great, our room was immaculate and always ready. The bars were fun, especially our favorite, The Alchemy, the bands were good , the comedians fun. The spa was one of the best I have been to on a cruise, but The food was just so ordinary, even in the specialty Italian place. The dining room was awful. The food was cold, poorly cooked, never as ordered and the staff for ...

This cruise was a deal too good to refuse, and although our 34th cruise, only our 2nd Carnival. Bright spots: Great crew, excellent service in the cabins and dining venues, clean well-appointed cabin, and surprisingly good food with a broad menu.. BUT the ship is tired, with worn carpet, worn upholstery in lounges, peeling paint and some rust. The production show crew was only fair with 2-3 good ...

I booked this last minute and didn’t have time to read the reviews. However, I really liked the ship except for issues we encountered. The safe was locked when we got to our cabin and it took numerous calls to get it unlocked. There was a terrible smell of mildew in the corridors. Our ac worked well, but we heard numerous complaints from people who didn’t have ac. The lobby at the aft ...

We are once a month Cruisers. Usually we ride Celebrity, Princess, Royal Caribbean, MSC, and Norwegian, this time we thought we take a chance on Carnival. First that good stuff. The evening restaurant meal was always good and with enough variety to satisfy most tastes. We had anytime dining so we were able to get in very quickly most nights. The formal night of course was very busy and we ...
