I wasn't sure what to expect after not cruising for 4 years and reading some negative reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised and had a wonderful cruise!
This was our first time out of Port Canaveral, but the boarding process went smoothly. We had an 10:30 check in time and were on the ship by 11:30. We had to wait a bit because the cruise before us was completely full - just like ours. But ...
This cruise ticked off more of our county/port destination list. Amber cove was nice and clean. The lazy river pool was relaxing but with 2 ships in port that day got very crowded by midmorning. Everyone seemed to be having fun. Port of LaRomana was interesting. Did the Catalina Beach break. You are bused for about 5-10 minutes over to another port and are ferried to the island. The water ...
Food was just so so. Never use anytime dinning, had to wait over an hour just to get a table. Then another hour to get you food. Portions were small especially the vegaetables which was very surprising. Salad was very blah.
Entertainment was the same people every night. Was to be a four port cruse, only went to three, but the gave us a $50 each credit. The entertainment in the bars was ...
We stayed in a Spa cabin (12009) and although the balcony was on the wrong side for the beach view at Grand Turk, the view at Amber Cove was amazing! From our door, The Fitness Center was only about 30 ft away and just inside was a cold water fountain (including a faucet for water bottles) with the best tasting water on the boat. The only noise issue with the cabin was one morning at 4:30 am, for ...
We chose this cruise because of dates, location, and itinerary. The Carnival Magic appeared very run down. Lots of rust and flaking paint. Our cabin with balcony was fine. Lido deck was fine.
The main issue is Carnival taking the "magic" out of the dining room experience at night. We have cruised over 25 years and have seen a steady decline in that experience. Tablecloths and multiple ...
We chose the Carnival Magic for the itinerary which included the Southern Caribbean islands of Aruba and Bonaire. It hadn't been an issue on previous cruises, but this cruise was short on entertainment during the day. We could only play so many trivia games before deciding to seek a more port-intensive cruise in the future.
Trying to sit by the pool was useless. The passengers were up first ...
We did a back-to-back on this ship for the itinerary, southern Caribbean. Number one this ship is definitely showing it's age. Rust all over the place, seating in the buffet needs replacing, and doors not shutting correctly or broken. We had a cove balcony which we normally love, but on this cruise, they decided to paint the lifeboat stanchions and we had paint chips raining down on us, and ...
I love causing the Carnival. That being said, I can not recommend anyone to sail on the Magic until the ship is refreshed during drydock. The showtime theater cushions on the chairs are worn thin and need to be replaced. The cushions on the clam shells, beds, and loungers need to be replaced as they are worn down and look shabby. Some of the heat chairs in Spa 9 were brown and there are lots of ...
Chose CCL Magic cruising to east Caribbean to use FCC from multiple delays for CCL Mardi Gras with two (2) daughters. Personnel on ship were friendly, courteous and efficient. However, the food choices were lacking, ie., one night the everyday striploin steak had no flavor whatsoever. The ship had the new CCL hull paint scheme but so many areas around each balcony cabin and deck areas were covered ...
Biggest complaint was the cabin as you can see from my review of the cabin. The Guys Burgers and the Blue Iguana Cantina saved the day. We went to the dining room and that was just horrible. I forgot that the servers are forced to dance to the "delight" of the crowd. While this is going on everything stops. If your food has not been served it will be ice cold by the time it gets to you. we were ...
