Borderline at best.
"The food was hit and miss, I would venture to say I quite liked the Main Dining Room food and they had some good variety each themed night, the servings were very small which we figured out after the first night and just from then ordered often multiple of the same thing to get a reasonable size (and I dont think we are big eaters - even our kids needed to do this, getting say 6-8 french fries on a plate for example) But once you were in and got the food it was quite good.So some good but overall it was all a bit meh, we are lucky enough to travel and cruise a lot as in many times a year, so we can roll with most things no great loss and move on, I would hate for someone thou to say have saved for years or something for this trip of a lifetime and I suspect a few onboard I met quite likely did...."Read More

Fun Ship. Good for under 40's. Not so much or older cruisers other than those who love countless varieties of trivia. Deck 7 cabin was adequate and very quiet. Larger balcony than normal. Bed was hard which may suit some but not those side-sleepers with dodgy lower backs. Most staff were friendly as expected. Tyler the cruise director was one of the best and involved we have ...

Not bad, could be much better.

The ship fitout is very nice, with polished stone everywhere and lovely light fittings etc. The theatre especially, is very nice with plenty of room and small tables for drinks. The entertainment, however, was appalling. The performers were mediocre at best, and the lighting was atrocious, with extremely bright lights aimed right into the eyes of the audience giving blinding flashes ...

Some improvements, some not

We went on this cruise to see if Carnival had lifted their game since our trans-Pacific cruise last year. Some things were an improvement, but some sadly not. To start with (and I know it's probably beyond Carnival's control, but it's part of the experience) the boarding process was heavenly compared with last year's three hour queue. We dropped off our large bag, then walked into the ...

This Australian vacation was planned as a break from the gloomy winter in Olympia WA in the USA. We began our cruise in Brisbane Australia headed for a couple small islands in the South Pacific. First two days at sea; This ship is showing its age. It feels very closed in compared with newer ships. The food selection and quality is below par. The servers are friendly and welcoming. I have ...

Awful ship. Awful experience

We have cruised other Carnival ships, but nothing as bad as this. Toilet stopped working for several days. Public areas smelled of sewerage. My GoPro was stolen, and when I reported it security stripped our room (mind you this was around midnight as well). My wife broke her finger on a shore excursion, and we caught both COVID and Influenza A. Our last meal in cabin isolation was a single piece ...

Will never travel on Carnival Luminosa again. Breach of privacy when we found evidence on our GoPro of a staff member going through our personal items taking a video of themselves. MAJOR BREACH OF PRIVACY!! The staff at the sunset bar were extremely rude and weren’t happy when having to remake a drink that made wrong initially. The boat is old in the inside. Pools are small. In the dining ...

Cruise was on 11/2 out to South Pacific the morning of the cruise, the itinerary changed due to the low. So from 3 ports we went to 2 ports which was Santo and Port Vila (no tenders required) I was very happy with the change as i had not been to those ports since 5 years ago. Plus $200 onboard credit was given for each cabin. My personal experience: Ship - small and quirky, which Ioved. ...

We chose the Luminosa for its convenient departure point of Brisbane, short duration, and excellent deal. We couldn't have stayed in an equivalent hotel and eaten as well as we did for the price we paid! We opted for a Spa suite, which, once you factored in the spa access fee, was pretty good value. The ship was almost full and we appreciated the peace and quiet of the spa almost every ...

Not Worth It.

Old, run down cruise ship. Most of the staff were unenthusiastic (except for a handful that were accommodating), food was pretty average and the rooms were clean but outdated. Issues with tenders being released from the ship to port caused massive delays - I really enjoyed sweltering in the hot sun for over an hour. The best part was the lack of entertainment for adults. There were three ...

Wonderful Family Xmas Cruise

Chosen as something different for family Xmas get together it was priced well for our whole family of 13 including 2 elderly parents. Having read the bad reviews pre booking, it was felt anything above that is a bonus and so pleased we ignored them.. right from ease of boarding, a wheel chair offered for a parent with some walking disability to get them through quickly. The rooms were clean, room ...
