My husband and I traveled with two other couples on a southern Caribbean cruise on the Carnival Liberty. Our very first cruise was on the Carnival Mardi Gras in 1977 and we didn't cruise again until the late nineties with our three kids on the Carnival Fascination. This was followed by at least a dozen RCCL and Celebrity cruises. I'll admit we were not sure if we would like Carnival as much as ...
Valentine and Birthday! We were on the Liberty in 2014 and loved it. We didn't plan on having the same cruise director but was an Awesome surprise! Love Corey Rogers!! First, embarkation is way too easy! Landed in SJU and was 15 min to ship and maybe 15 min till on ship...no line!! First, we loved every minute! Complaint - went by too fast! I thought all food and service in dining room was great! ...
1) Boat: overall the Liberty shows signs of wear. The big screen up on the deck should be replaced as it is extremely pixelated. The Liberty feels a bit dated.
2) Room. I was in room 1059.The rug is worn and is a tripping hazard. it needs to be replaced. Very uncomfortable bed.
3) Morning Breakfast room service. 4 of the days I had asked for reg-coffee, they sent decaf. On 1 day they were ...
The taxi ride from the airport to the pier was posted at $19. Taxi driver said it was 24. He didnt have any change and I only had 20's. He took 20 but was upset that he didnt get the extra 4 dollars. My Wife and I flew in the same day as the cruise and got to explore San Juan after we dropped our luggage at Carnival.
San Juan is beautiful and we took many pictures while waiting for the Boat ...
Carnival is at the bottom of the barrel of cruise companies now. This is our fifth cruise (2 on Carnival, 2 on Royal Caribbean).
Food: omelettes were mushy, fish was very soggy; chicken was dry. Main Dining Room: Food was good, but not great.
Entertainment: Female Comedy club performer discussed men farting for 30 minutes. Spanish guitarist in lobby played a few nights.
Stateroom: ...
Let me start by saying that this was our 3rd cruise on the Liberty, our first going out of San Juan. We went down a day early and totally enjoyed our time in San Juan. Lots of great sights to see. On embarkation day, our ship was scheduled to go out at 10pm, but since we had to check out of our hotel around noon, we decided to head to the port and check in as soon as possible. We were allowed ...
We have been on the Liberty 3 times, and have done these Southern ports of call 3 times as well. We did not stay at a hotel the day before, with the ship leaving at 10pm. However do to the SUPERBOWL we left at 11pm so people could watch the entire game. However having the safety drill at Midnight, truly was not a highlight!! But we got through it. It's nice being able to get on and off the ship ...
We flew into San Juan the day before we sailed, and stayed at the Sheraton in Old San Juan. This was our 10th cruise and second with Carnival. We arrived at the port at approximately 12:00 noon. There was a slight problem clearing the ship for arriving guests, but the wait was not very long, and the whole process was very organized. From the moment we walked into the terminal, we felt welcomed ...
We are first time cruisers with 3 young children (ages 10,6 and 2) from Toronto Canada. We took a direct flight to San Juan Puerto Rico (3h 45min) to SJU. The airport displayed signs clearly for us to pick up our baggage and proceed to the taxi stand. San Juan has fixed fares between zones plus $1 for each bag. The private taxi was air conditioned and about 20 minutes from the cruise port. Once at ...
This was our 11th cruise and first on Carnival. We sailed out of Barbados. We had some appartment in the middle of nowhere, even the taxi could not find it. Because there where only a few hundred people embarking, this was really fun. No lines, very quick. The cabine was already done before noon. Only the luggage took a while. We where hungry so we went to the lido. The breakfast was just gone, ...
