We traveled aboard the Elation as a part of a group cruise for a wedding. When we arrived at the terminal in Jacksonville, there was a long wait. So our 12:30p.m. check-in time, really turned out to be 1:30pm.
Aboard the ship, we had lots to do! Our room was comfortable. Our steward was nice enough. The entertainment was comical. We participated in the Hasbro game show. It was a blast! We saw ...
The ship is in GREAT shape. If you are into alternative dining or lots of on-board activities then choose a different ship. Even though were had a full ship there were few problems finding seating in the shows or in the buffet.
Even though the staff was dealing with multiple problematic turn arounds due to fog and late arrivals (on 4 and 5 day turn arounds) they were amazingly poised, ...
Things started off kind of rocky. We had a 12 pm boarding time and on the drive down from South Carolina, we get notified that the port is closed, next update at 10am. At 10 we get notified that the port is still closed and the next update is at 12. The last update says the Elation will dock at 12:45 and move your boarding time up 4 hours.
We parked at WallyPark by the airport because of ...
I chose the Jacksonville cruise since it's close to home. The Elation just came out of drydock and she was nicer than I expected. Embarkation went smoothly but getting off the ship was a disaster. The ship docked a little later than usual because of fog and it took us 4 hours to disembark and we were far from the last. The layout of the port needs revised. Drop off for new cruise guest and pick up ...
What a great vacation!
Embarkation was not as bad as I had expected, not bad at all. We used a porter since it had been recommended on reviews, same at disembarkation, used a porter - easy breezy.
The ship is laid out like most Carnival ships which is comfortable and easy to maneuver.
The dinners were delicious! All the staff in the dining room were very friendly. Each meal was ...
This was our first cruise on a ship this small and will likely be our only cruise on a small ship. Elation had just come out of an extensive dry dock a few months prior to our sailing and the decor was beautiful and the cabins comfortable.
The food in the dining room and buffet was average at best and mostly served at or below room temperature. Drinks and shows were the best part other than ...
We chose this cruise because of the gospel celebration going on...everything was great..
Getting on the ship was no problem at all...our departure was delayed due to fog about 5 hours because port was closed, that is how bad it was....but the staff was great during that time, they kept serving food and set up games to play , gave all of us a deck of cards...overall met all our needs.
The ...
I chose the ship because close to home 6 hours away and inexpensive. The entertainment was great. The rock show outstanding. The band sunset blvd was excellent. The only problem they were near the casino so some people smoked at the bar ugh!!! The show heart and soul very good. They only had 7 singers and dancers but made the shows work. The show Diva was good not great. Kevin the cruise ...
We had a great cruising vacation!. First let me say to those that frown upon carnival as being the cheap low end cruise line..let me say ..cheap is not the word.. but great value, food, entertainment, service are all words that should be used.! This was our 7th cruise and our 6th with Carnival and always a great experience! The one time we did stray was with NCL and all I will say is "never ...
This was my husband and my first cruise. We left from Jacksonville on the Elation. While the ocean was a rough, it did not stop our fun. There was always something going on. The ship was beautiful! Amazing colors. The Carnival Hub app is amazing. The night before we would select our favorite events on the schedule for the next day and the app would send reminders. The crew was fantastic. ...
