I had an amazing Vacation this time of the year was perfect the weather was just right and not humid or too hot. The service was outstanding. The Only reason I am not giving 5's for everything is my shore excursion in Cozumel was not the best. I was kinda disappointed as I didn't realize how long it was going to take to get to the destination and we ended up only having three hours instead of 6 hours at the location plus it was so packed as their were 6 ships in Cozumel when we were their. My cabin 2346 was wonderful. Very close to the water and when on the balcony we were able to watch the Pilot boat captain jump on and off the ship to Pilot the ship into the harbors and Mississippi river (Takes 7 hours to get through the river to the Gulf of Mexico). Also were able to see 10 dolphins and 1 whale from our room. Weather was around 85'F every day. Sunny and water was great. Jamaica was my favorite place to visit. Would defiantly recommend doing a snorkeling tour when here we saw so many tropical colored fish in the bay. Next time I go to Cayman Islands I am going to do Stingray bay and snorkeling tour as the water was crystal clear the further out you got. Read Less

Sailed Non 2017. We loved this ship from the minute we got on-board. It was showing it's age a bit but nothing terrible. I believe it is in dry dock at the moment for a small update. Which will be great because we are returning on the same cruise in Feb. 2018, same cruise, same ship and same room. Felipe Couto is the cruise director and he is amazing. By far the best we have ever seen. Looking forward to seeing him next month. Back to the cruise. We were worried 4 days would pass too quickly but it didn't. We had a great time. Food, entertainment and the ship were just great. We did not take any excursion because of the short itinerary and mainly because we cruise for the ship. We stayed on-board and enjoyed ourselves. We have cruised on other cruise lines but we prefer the Fun Ships of Carnival. This will be our 5th cruise with Carnival and will definitely not be our last. F or those who have cruise with Felipe Couto, Woohoo! Read Less

We just returned this past week from a 5 day Western cruise with Carnival Triumph out of New Orleans (Monday-Saturday). We've cruised many times on Carnival and other cruise lines, we always come back to Carnival for the fun atmosphere, good food and friendly staff. This was our 2nd trip on the Carnival Triumph. Our first was a few years ago with the grand suite, this time around we tried the ocean suite since it was just 2 of us. The room was an adequate size for 2 adults. Lots of space to and storage to put all of your belongings. Our cabin steward was Randy, very hospitable and good with taking care of our our room while we were away from the cabin, etc. The food for this trip was noticeable that the buffet's food wasn't as we remember with food quality - for example, on one day with fried chicken on the buffet, it doesn't look as though food is kept fresh/switched out periodically during the time it's sitting at the buffet. The fried chicken was so dried out and hard, we couldn't eat it. Also, this was a 5 day trip, so there was no lobster/steak night. My husband opted to purchase it on one of our dinner nights and was happy with the steak, but he said the lobster was overcooked/rubbery. Not worth the $20 extra that he paid for it. I ate a couple of times at the pay for seafood restaurant - lobster rolls $11 (they were good) once, and the fried seafood platter another time $10 - the oil I don't think is hot enough because their french fries on both orders were very greasy. They auto charge gratuity for whatever you order at this place, so be aware when you sign and it asks for tip. The chinese food and the deli sandwich shop are both good. The rueben at the deli shop was my husbands favorite. Also, we can't forget about Guy's hamburger place - everywhere you looked, there was a Guy's hamburger that someone was eating. They are really good, so I was glad it was onboard to quickly grab a good burger. The blue iguana cantina had good huevos rancheros ready each morning at 7am, so I visited them for breakfast often. They also have a good taco salad during lunch. Also, brunch on seadays from 8am-12:30 is the best breakfast with steak and eggs, pork chops, don't miss this breakfast in the Paris dining room. For entertainment, the comedian show was always packed, so get there early if you want to get a seat. We didn't get to go to the Rome Lounge for the show, but I remember there were 2 nights - Tuesday with music and dance styles from around the world at 7 & 9pm. on Wed, there was a vegas style magical show at 7 & 9pm. Overall, the ship is kept very clean, lots of activities (more than you can do on the 5 day cruise), friendly people on board, very diverse group of people with everyone having a good time and enjoying themselves. Embarkation and debarkation was very smooth - the quickest we've ever experience at the Port of New Orleans for debarkation. We were happy with the cruise and service from everyone and was able to relax and enjoyed this trip. We'll be back on board again in December! Read Less

This was my families first cruise together and I wanted to make it special. I had cruised on NCL before but was in an inside suite. After having that interior experience, I opted for a balcony cabin. I also chose 6th floor and in center field to help lessen the motion(if possible). Everything was done very well from embarkation to the food, staff, and excursions. My son is 7 and he was in heaven. The food options are never ending from the lido buffet to all the side stuff. My wife wasn't a fan of the sushi. I loved the midnight pizza runs after a healthy dose of casino time. We ate at the Lincoln and the Washington as well. My only regret was I only booked a 5 day. Well, 2 regrets. We also didn't utilize the kid zone much so we never got out to dance or see the comedy shows. This was more by family proxy though, Logan wanted to hang with dad. The room was as expected, not shoulder to shoulder but smaller than a Super 8. This is why I chose the balcony, plus you can do and see things others can't. Again, private balcony with incredible views. Could go on and on but we had a very memorable time on your ship and would recommend you to anyone. RW Read Less

We ate at every food venue on board, and everything was good, no complaints. Our room was cleaned every time we stepped out. The room attendant was excellent,he kept our ice bucket replenished as we requested. Room service was wonderful, they delivered our coffee at 8:00 am as requested. Dr.E was the best cruise director, he knows how to keep a packed ship happy, even the muster drill was fun. The ship was clean, and big enough,we never had to wait in line for anything, The shows were good. The wait staff and servers were fantastic, Too many sea days, one more stop would have been nice. Just back from the Athens to Barcelona cruise Oct 2016. Boat is very nice. Great condition as new (even so all of the foyer carpeting had to be replaced during our cruise). Lots of room and rarely felt crowded. Drinks - beer, wine, cocktails & pop very expensive. Also got stuck paying 24% VAT tax so Carnival removed drink package option. The Thirsty/Red Frog beer was amazing. Food. Had all dinners in the Reflection (same as Horizon). Special thanks to Frank & Ilyana (sp.?) for their wonderful, attentive service. Amazing looking menus with superb selection but always looked better than it tasted. One of the problems of serving up hundreds of simultaneous meals - becomes a commodity regardless of how you dress it. On Lido deck Guys Burgers offered AMAZING hand-made, delicious burgers with great fixings. Same with the Iguana tacos. Felt like we could have eaten here all week. Mornings we had continental room service. Always great coffee. Toast always served cold. If it can't be delivered hot, suggest they offer up cold, fresh breads instead. Decent fruits, cereal, yogurt otherwise. Outdoor theatre was fun. Blankets were available as was chilly outside. Great sound so don't understand why English speaking movies also needed English sub-titles? Very distracting. Free popcorn was nice idea but terrible quality - served with some sort of edible (barely) oil product. The IMAX & 4D theatre were great - reasonably priced and not crowded (at least when we went). Sky ride also good. On rainy or cool sea days could really use indoor observation lounge (move the spa?). Would sell more alcohol as well. Otherwise stuck with poor side views from inside. Music & entertainment. Great throughout and lots of variety. Latin band, piano bar, shows, combos, all well done. Personally there was way too much "jazzy saxophone elevator" music played throughout the ship which grated on us after awhile. Also, for a cruise that was 90% age 50 +, we really did not like the liquid lounge DJ "music". Saw many people come in, than turn around and high-tail it out. Was playing rap, hip-hop, electronic more suitable for 19 year olds (a handful). When asked about selection or requests was told the music supplied by Carnival was very limited (like no Drive By - Train?). Balcony room @ 9th floor was very nice with larger bathrooms than previous cruises. Elevators. Always slow. Need to press at least 3 sets of buttons as one set does not control all up or down elevators. We got used to using the stairs most of the time. After an excursion, expect to wait 15 mins from 0 to 10. Pools & hot tubs looked nice but we did not use. Something about hundreds of sweaty, unsanitary, people hopping in totally dry (no shower before entering) is a turn off (especially with showers right beside!). Come on people...seriously, in this day & age? Glad to see at least rules enforced regarding the "lounge hogs" who put towels on primo chairs in the morning, then leave for most of the day. Crew allowed 40 mins of this then towels removed and loungers freed up. The Spa. We did not partake so no comment on the quality of service. We found it very expensive and really did not like having to be forced to pass through the "sales gauntlet" of charming young ladies always standing at the entrance to the lido deck promoting this over-priced (obviously profitable) service. Excursions were well organized and good value. Despite the numbers never felt over-crowded. All considered the Vista offers good value in what I would call a commodity cruise. The proviso being that while you are being lulled into a sense of care-free wonderment, they are there to make a profit. This by extracting as much money from you as possible with their many extra-cost services geared to take advantage when your budget defenses are in holiday mode. Read Less

My wife and I mainly choose Carnival Liberty because of the Port is was sailing out of (Galveston) and for a long weekend getaway. We sailed Carnival back in 2000 & 2001 and had not sail on them until now, a lot has change (for the better) We were surprised, very nice ship and staff were all friendly, nice and informative. Normally we have been sailing with Disney and Princess. Back to this cruise, Some highlights were The Chef's Table, Diamonds Steakhouse & the Ship Tour. Had fun in the Casino. Our Stateroom was very nice (Grand Suite) Lot of fun things to do on the ship, entertainment was very nice, fun, funny & exciting. Getting on and off the ship was seamless. The excursion was just ok..."La Casa en La Playa - A Select Retreat" beach water very rocky, not much sand, Food was served and it was great, drinks were great. They had a swimming pool, it was very nice. Staff were very friendly and nice. Found cig buts all over. If you go, spray yourself down with bug spray before you leave, everyone got major mosquitoes bites. One lady went into the water and her foot got hit by a stingray, very painful, lots of blood. Yuck. If you go, pick out a spot quickly, only a few nice shaded areas. We won't do that one again. We did have very nice weather throughout the whole cruise. We would go on this cruise again soon. Oh great Eggs Benedicts I've had on any cruise ship. Read Less

I was initially hesitant at booking a cruise on a ship noted for young families. I can honestly say it was one of the best cruises I have ever done. The children were well controlled until the last night when they started to run about but on the whole they were well mannered and quiet. The ship was fantastic. We were booked into a Balcony Stateroom but were upgraded to an Ocean Suite on Deck 6 in 6174. The crew were happy and would talk to everyone. We spent breakfast and dinner in the Pharoe's Palace Restaurant and had a turkey roll and fruit for lunch at the Lido Restaurant. The bread rolls at lunch and dinner were moreish and the endless supply of pizza, lemonade and ice cream 24/7 a nice touch. The only negative I have is that although free tea, coffee and hot chocolate were available 24/7, the ship had no peppermint or herbal tea and the cakes had to be purchased outside dining hours. The evening shows were first rate with a cast of 8 who could sing and dance and on the magic night show, the girls contorted to fit inside the small boxes and assisted with lead magician with the act. The stage sets could have been used in a professional play at a major theater and included use of laser lights, pyrotechnics and even scented air only added to the night, . Our stateroom developed a small leak on the carpet. Guest Services had blowers drying the carpet after repairs had been effected. We later received a gift basket containing fruit, cheese and a bottle of wine for any inconvenience. We said we were only reporting and not complaining. The staff were excellent and it was no trouble to search for the Sydney Shute Shield Rugby Union scores for us. While on our way back on the last day an orange object was sighted so the ship slowed and changed course to investigate. The captain keep all passengers and crew informed what was happening and after explained what they had spotted, and orange fender from a fishing boat. I would recommend the ship and cruise again and am currently looking at booking a similar cruise later in the year. WELL DONE TO THE SHIP'S CREW AND .A BIG THANK YOU FROM US. Read Less

First off we chose Legend because we had cruised on Spirit, secondly the ports of call. It was a fantastic cruise, I think the food was a little better than Spirit, mainly in the dining room, not that it was bad on Spirit just better on Legend. Both ships are excellent and we enjoyed both. The cabin was excellent but I would say that there was a couple of small maintenance things to fix. Having a balcony is just the best and if you are thinking of cruising I would strongly recommend a balcony. We have been in the Grand Suite which really is just superb and this time the Ocean Suite which was just as good. Entertainment and things to do on the ship were excellent and you can be as busy as you want or just relax and enjoy, we do both. I like the idea of having a day in between ports rather than five or so stops on the go. Probably because we are a bit older and that day in between helps us got the energy levels back up ready for more beach going and snorkeling. My favourite ports are Vila and Mare for the south pacific cruises with Vila good for shopping and duty free and Mare the best for a trip to the beach and snorkeling. The people there are so nice and very friendly I felt very safe the whole time. We have sailed on a couple of different companies and so far our favourite would be Carnival, either Spirit or Legend for Aussie cruises. Embarkation and disembarkation all went very smoothly with no problems. Read Less

We chose this cruise because it was a way to have some time together as a couple prior to Christmas. The itinerary took us to Progreso, Mexico and to Cozumel. This was our second time on Triumph. We enjoyed the ship, the friendly staff, and the activities. The shows were Christmas themed, and were well done. The ship was decorated for the Christmas holiday with wreaths and garland. The gulf waters were rougher than we expected because a storm had blown through just as we were leaving. Hence, the ship rocked back and forth for the first two days of travel. I took medicine and learned how to 'get my sea-legs.' The staff was helpful, carrying my tray on the Lido when I had a hard time walking steadily. After a while, we just got used to it. We met up with a facebook group to 'mingle' on the first afternoon. That was a nice way to start things off. It gave us a chance to get to know some people and compare notes on excursions. I was a bit disappointed because we were placed at a table for two in the Paris dining room. It was in a walkway area, and it felt awkward. We prefer to be seated with a group of people, even if we do not know them. I found out that you can request seating arrangements if you go down to the dining room and talk to the maitre de. Will try that next time. The dining room was not as inviting as on our previous cruise. Carnival has introduced a new menu called American Table. It should be called Bare Table because they have discontinued the tablecloths, even on elegant night. American table is all about things Americans are supposed to like---steak, potatoes, etc. However, we prefer the European style menus they had previously. We further request the return of the tablecloths. If I wanted to eat at Denny's, I would have stayed in Texas. We tried a wine package (3-bottle, premium). The selections were limited, but varied enough to meet our needs. The good thing about the wine is that they kept the leftover wine and had it waiting on our table the next evening, chilled and ready to pour. There is a basic and a deluxe wine package. You can save about 20% by purchasing this package prior to the cruise. The deluxe package has Zonin Prosecco, which, in my opinion, is better than champagne. Progreso was wonderful. We went to a beach hotel with a buffet and open bar. It was very nice. The bus ride took 35 minutes, but the time flew by due to the entertaining stories and lessons given by Alejandro Fitzmaurice Laviada, our tour guide. On the return bus ride, several people vomited because of the choppy ocean effect combined with too much tequila. Cozumel was excellent. We purchased a non-Carnival excursion to Nachi Cocom for $55.00 apiece. They had a clean pool, great beachfront, and plenty to drink with poolside/beachside service. The food was very good. There were six cruise ships in port that day, but even so, there was plenty of taxi service available. Our favorite activities on board were the hot tub, comedy club, and the casino. I coaxed my wife to gamble bit. We decided that on our next cruise we will ask for the 8:15 PM dining slot since there are fewer kids and less rush in the dining rooms at that time. The shows have multiple times, so you have to work your MDR time around that as well. Overall, I think Carnival does a great job with their cruises, and we will continue to stay with them. Dining room, bar, and stateroom service were excellent. Read Less
