Starting off on a positive note, it is evident the culture on this ship is focused around excellent service. Somewhere between 95-99% of the staff is incredible at their job. The cabin I stayed in seemed very reasonable, although the walls in(I think) all the cabins are very thin and a nightmare for light sleepers. The majority of the food I ate ranged from good to great quality. There’s a lot of tasty meals and snacks to be had. The on board entertainment was also a big highlight, there is plenty to do. Now one of my big cons comes in the form of organization. The ship was to leave at 3:30pm. We left at 6:30pm. It seemed the embarkation and debarkation was a you-know-what show. The onshore excursions were very unorganized. Our time would got cut every time and things listed to be on the package, weren’t. I was let down on all three locations. I’ll give you an example, we went to the Dolphinaris excursion in Cozumel (unlimited food and drink dolphin encounter or something of that nature), the gentlemen told us from the jump on the Pier that our excursion wasn’t ready, we waited, we waited, we signed a form, we handed in our ticket, we waited, we walked, and right before we got on the taxis they started to give us back our tickets to sign? Why didn’t we do that immediately? We lost so much time. Even if carnival has no control over this, they shouldn’t be handing us over to these clowns. Additionally, half the activities on this excursion got axed for slightly rough water. No kind of reimbursement. Onto me getting trapped in an elevator with a woman having a panic attack. On the night after leaving Cozumel, we were hitting some rough waves and I got stuck in an elevator on the NINTH floor, Carolina in guest services didn’t seem to care and suggested it wasn’t a big deal because I was only having 90 feet above the ground level for thirty minutes. Big ups to Carolina. Now with all this said, thanks to my loved ones and the convenience of the onboard activities/food, I had fun. But the Glory needs to address some of these problems going forward. Read Less

Parking cost was the first shock , 140 dollars ! But it was covered and very convenient. Getting on board was quick and easy , but we were confused as we were an hour early but we missed our group boarding time. was watching the game and yelling who dat . Nobody would stop talking . The crew kept trying to say no phones .... Nobody could hear or see a thing. My first cruise and I came away not knowing anything . Cookie the director was giving instructions that anybody who wanted to listen , could not because of all the noise . The crew member giving the life vest demonstration was so short bless him I couldn’t see him and people all around me were all saying the same thing . One of our suitcases went missing . We went to guest services multiple times and waited but the lines were so long we left . At one point a porter went past us with a trolley full of luggage ( including ours) I followed him and tried to retrieve it. He would not give it to me and told me to go to guest services . At almost 10 pm after a final wait in line of one and a half hours ( almost 5 hours in total wait time) I finally got to the counter and talked to girl ( who had to get permission from her manager) to take me to the room a few feet away to get the case. The lines were so long at mealtimes we never got to eat once at the restaurant. Buffet was great . Our only complaint was extremely small portions which meant respirated trips. Coffee stations were closed when buffets were. Only leaving one open 24 hours . It was really hard to find drink or food late at night . The pizza was open but the lines again were long and they could not keep up. Guys Burgers was great but the fries were burnt every time . Ice cream stations were continually empty, or not working. Eating areas were spotless and staff were all hard working and polite. The ships layout was extremely confusing and the elevators were a nightmare . The air conditioning at the shows was very cold . The cigarette smoke in the casino area was choking. The bunk beds were a little tight . Our shower flooded the entire bathroom every day and the cabin and our clothes smelt musty . Our cabin staff were friendly and the room was spotless . Several panels were out in the ceiling. We had a huge fan by our room trying to dry out the carpet for the last four days. The crew were working to repair something the first three but obviously they failed and gave up . Some people we met actually had their cabin flood from burst pipes. By mid week the sewerage smell was really bad over a lot of the ship. The shows were fabulous and the Veteran tribute was humbling and dignified. A few of the comedians were ok, but nothing to right home about . Only one was really funny. Young unattended children were on the stairs and sitting in the stairwells 24/7 . Many were running in the halls well past midnight . Huge groups of teenagers took up half the seating in certain areas all day and evening. We were not given wristbands on one excursion so hence we could not get onto the beach or pool. We had to fight to get back on the bus without them. The bus was overcrowded and small . One excursion was cancelled, during the night. The shore excursion office was closed the next morning so we could not rebook anything. We could not get into the hot tubs because they were always overcrowded. The spa was a rip off, the manager rude. Don’t waste your money but if you do don’t expect to pay what you were quoted . We booked something at night for the next day, tried to cancel but we were told we couldn’t because it was under 24 hours . We didn’t book it that long in advance and that was not explained to us. They tried to bill us 50% . I eventually got it cancelled because I went up there and vomited in the bathroom . I tried to tell them I was seasick but the manager didn’t believe me. A staff member actually cancelled it behind the managers back. But it was super clean and the staff were amazing. The hot stone massage was lovely but extremely overpriced . Gratuity was extremely high on all the drinks and spa services . Watch for hidden Chargers everywhere. I asked for the refill cup on Sunday and was told they have no such thing. I could not find anyone who knew anything about it until Wednesday. We waited in line for a long while to buy some earrings . When we got to the counter we were told to go to the other register. We went to the other register , waited for an even longer time then was told to go back to the first register . We walked out. This happened again at the photo booth. If you plan on buying internet or photos get the package before you sail. Carnival hub did not work unless we were docked. The behind the fun tour was well worth it . Lovely gifts. Informative tour. But again we were not even tickets or information when we booked and we almost missed it . We were on deck one , first to disembark off the ship supposedly. The elevators were not coming down . When deck two was called probably 75% of deck one was still trying to get off. It caused a lot of frustrations and tempers to flare. Summary:- the ship is old , small and needs repairs ,. The plumbing and sewerage have major issues . I was cold all the time . Expect long lines for absolutely everything.. Cigarette smoke is really bad in the casino. The sewage smell was horrific . Does roll a lot and several people who are long time cruisers said this was the first time for feeling sea sick . Dining room does not function well. Very limited 24 hour food (especially late evening) Lack of organisation causes problems. Not good at problem solving . Don’t expect it to be any different on Thanksgiving than any regular day. No real meal except turkey. No fun parades like other ships had . Would not say it is very easy to get around in a scooter or wheelchair. Staff are amazing, polite , friendly hardworking. The ship is super clean . Food was good..... when everything is working it’s great. We still had a lovely relaxing holiday. I would cruise again, just not on on the poor old Carnival Dodgy. Finally before you think I’m hard to please, this is not the case. I’m trying to give a honest review. The same complaints we had , everyone around us was saying too! Read Less

As a big Carnival fan over the years, it pains me to write this review. The experience was not what it used to be! Most staff members were friendly and customer service-oriented, but not to the level of past cruises and I did encounter exceptions to customer friendly service for the first time on this cruise. Getting drinks around the pool area was a challenge, something I've never encountered with Carnival. They used to have staff circling constantly to offer drinks. On this cruise, when I gave up in desperation waiting for a drink at my lounge chair, I walked to the bar to get my own drink and had a ridiculously long wait to get a drink from a surly bartender who never uttered a word or smiled! I'm guessing the apparent staff cuts are causing overworked and unhappy workers. Food was excellent as usual for Carnival, though the breads at dinner were not as fresh and warm as in the past and on this cruise we had to ask for breads and pastries when breakfast was ordered. It appears the days of waiters circulating at breakfast to offer fresh bread and pastries is over. On multiple occasions, the waits to get served in the dining room and at the Pizza place were totally unacceptable. Overall, still a fun vacation experience if we don't try to compare to ten past Carnival cruises - I admit they spoiled us in the past - but cuts everywhere were quite evident. It looks like they are trying to replace people (quantity and talent) with technology on the stage shows, but that isn't working. Also, the comedy talent was not the quality of past cruises. I do give Cookie credit for being an outstanding cruise director! I would honestly be willing to pay a bit more to get the old Carnival experience back! Read Less

Our Steward was great. Kept our room clean and tidy. Our dinner waiters were great. The biggest complaint I have with the dinning was cross contamination from the kitchen. I am highly allergic to all seafood! Anything that comes from the water! I informed the waiters from the start. I still have an allergic reaction every night. EVERY night I had to take Benadryl! So frustrating! This is a life or death situation! The Morning waiters were slow. They forgot to bring a spoon, sugar and milk when they brought coffee. By the time the spoon came the coffee was cold. There were many nights that sewage smell was horrible in the hallways of some of the floors. This was my 6th cruise with Carnival first time on the Glory. I do not think I will ever go back on the Glory ship. I traveled with a friend. She feels the same way. To many problems. One morning we woke up the our room feeling like a sauna. It took someone 3 hours to fix it! 3 hours!!! The entertainment wasn't like in the past. It was NOT good at all! The piano bar had the best entertainment on the whole ship! He was fantastic! The casino bar only catered to smokers. Us non smokers had to get a waiter attention to get a drink every time! The jamaica excursion was a joke! We went to Hard Rock . The beach was beautiful. But the food and service sucked. No one ever came to ask if we needed anything. We had to flag someone down or go get it ourselves. When you pay top dollar for an excursion you would think you get something better then Hotdogs and Hamburgers! Not even homemade Hamburgers!! The jerk chicken and rice was good. I'm very disappointed in this crew and the ship! Never again for the Glory! Read Less

Embarkation was quite smooth and quick. We had an ocean view cabin at the very front of the ship. The cabin was clean and our cabin steward was great. The ship's layout is okay but you can see that it is an older ship (inside and outside) that needs an overhaul. The food on this ship was not that great to me particularly breakfast on the Lido Deck. We ended up eating breakfast in the dining room which was much better. Our overall experience in the dining room was good. We had great servers in the evening. The entertainment on the ship was just okay. It is time for Carnival to have new stage shows. I usually enjoy the comedy shows but the comedians on this cruise were just not that funny. The highlight of entertainment for this cruise was Halloween. It was amazing!! The costumes were just incredible and we really enjoyed participating!!! We played in the casino a lot. There were a lot of cigarette smokers in the casino. The smoke choked you. I tried to bear with it because I know that is how it is!!! I even met some very nice people who were smokers but their smoking was killing me!! LOL. Our ports of call were very nice. We took an outside excursion in Montego Bay which was a tour of the island that included lunch at a local restaurant and 2 hour stay at a beach. We did a Carnival excursion in Grand Cayman to a semi-submarine just outside of the gate at the port. I am not sure why we had to get on a bus to go right outside of the gate. It was definitely not worth the money. In Cozumel, we went to Mr. Sanchos which is a beach resort. It was wonderful there!! Disembarkation went smoothly and we had an overnight stay in New Orleans which was wonderful!! Read Less

I chose this ship simply because it was the only porting out of new Orleans. If i had a chance to pick again. It would've been carnival dream or triumph which is carnival sunrise. The restaurants were basic..the only thing i enjoyed was the pizza. Normally i enjoy all restaurants, but not this go round. The food selection sucked. Oh yeah guys burger was absolutely amazing..including the ice cream was perfect. Customer service was also pretty good. Shows could've been better..ship very small..meaning its not alot to do on sea days besides sleep or casino activities. Maybe a couple raffles here & there. The entertainment was okay for the most part, I've experienced better on other ships. The ship on the 6th day was unbearable because of the rocking of the ship..alot of sea sickness. The biggest upset on my end was the buffet on lido deck. It was awful. Everyone taste bud is different and to each it's own. But i definitely didn't enjoy the food. So that was disappointing because i love trying new thing. Definitely in need of an upgrade. They don't even have "The wok" nor Italian restaurant Read Less

We chose this cruise because Port of NO is a great very fast port to use. It was worth the 8 hour drive to NO instead of fighting all the traffic that would’ve been in FL. Getting on and off were as easy as walking out to my mailbox. We were the only cruise at the port which is probably why. $22 a day to park was really freaking pushing it but again my car from the boat was like walking to my mailbox. My wife and I were bored most of the time. Things on sea days pretty much all cost extra money. $40 dollars for a couple bingo cards come on! She had been on NCL and said she was never bored. Okay here we go excuse the bullet points 1. Boat seemed larger than expected and decent amount of space for everyone considering most boats are now 3900 people. Glory has 2900 2. If you couldn’t find space in one of the 2 pools there are literally 6 hot tubs throughout the ships. 60 percent of time you could get in there comfortably. By the look of other videos I’ve seen of other ships the Glory does seem to have more room with the layout. 3. I was disappointed in the souvenir shop clothes etc part. I thought with 2900 people it would be bigger. The jewelry store is 2x it’s size which is a money maker. 4. Cruise director Dustin definitely worked extremely hard. I would just suggest him to slow down while talking especially directing a cruise in the southern part of the USA. Sometimes hard to listen to because of it. 5. 50 percent of the staff on the boat seemed to dislike their job. I understand they literally get slaved but it’s kind of rubs off. 6. Dining room. We had anytime dining. I would suggest going between 7-8. Dining times are 6 & 8 for scheduled. At least at that time the rush is slowing down before picking up. For the amount of people they serve I would give the service above average. We only had one bad experience out of the 7 nights and I asked to sit on other side which worked out great every night. The last 3 nights on the cruise the dining room food choices became limited to an upscale standard. 7. Cabin. Definitely felt 2003. Pink colors with tan-yellow. Beds I would give 2 stars especially since it came out to being $315 a night for 7 days. Our steward sadly 2 days in a row took our beach towels and forgot to return them; which is a big no no considering their $30 a piece if considered stolen. I hunted him down to get them those 2 days. 8. Deck 8 was our room. The rocking was never really bad I would say 2out5 we were in the front as well interior. 9. Comedy club was I would say above average. We had 4 comedians and 3 were always average. 10. Food on lido deck was average. Sometimes cold if you ate after 2 when coming back to boat on port days. It felt sort of disorganized with all the meats in to different areas of ships. 11. Pizza pirate was average. The pizza is thin as 2 dollar bills. The logistics of it idk but there was usually a line with a wait during the day. 12. Burger joint. Not something I want when laying out in sun. To hot to have a big greasy burger. Went and pooped about a hour after having one. Read Less

As stated in the title, the Crew, Entertainment, and Activities were great! They sure know how to keep you busy, but we were not impressed with the shape the ship was in. Our cabin had dirt in the crevices, the gasket around the window was peeling off, the sink in our room wouldn't go down (this was fixed), our shower drained so slowly that the first night we flooded the floor in the bathroom (this was fixed as well). As for the rest of the ship, there were dents in the elevators, broken glass, broken doors, pictures barely hanging on. It just did not impress us. In fact, my husband said if this was the first cruise he ever went on, he'd never go on another cruise again. Also, they only had one side of the buffet open at a time for lunch and dinner. The BBQ and Taco place are only opened from Noon-2:30. They were two of the best places to eat on the ship. Now for the good things. The steak house was to die for. We walked away stuffed. The crew was great, like they normally are. William, our room attendant always went out of his way to acknowledge us and greet us with a smile. We played trivia, BINGO, and went to the comedy club and the nightly entertainment. The guys and gals in the Motown, Island Party and Epic Rock were outstanding. We had a blast going to those shows. We decided to choose this cruise because of the western itinerary, Grand Cayman, Honduras, Belize and Cozumel. We have never been to Honduras or Belize and figured this would be a good opportunity to see those places . Two of the ports you had to take the water shuttle to the island, that was Grand Cayman and Belize. In Belize it was a 20 minute ride. The water taxi is ok but you spend time waiting to get on and off. The food in the main dining room was terrible. Food was over cooked. We ended up eating at the Emerald Steakhouse. That was an additional cost for us but at least we got a good meal. The pizza station and deli stations were good. I had a facial, massage and keratin hair treatment at the Spa. My husband had a facial, massage and acupuncture. Do not recommend. The fitness center is next to the spa. It was very noisy. Not relaxing at all!!! There were kids running all over the ship. We chose Carnival because we were paying for our family to take this vacation. We have been on other Carnival ships but mainly stay with Royal Caribbean. Checking in was awesome. Not much of a wait but that is were it stopped. When we booked we called Carnival to book everything. We were told the ship was going to be redone in May/June and the person we spoke with sent me via email a new layout of the cabins and we specifically selected our cabins so we were close to our grandkids. Well we get on the ship and our cabins were on opposite sides of the ship. They even split our cabins for dinner and we were not in the same restaurants. Our cabin steward and the entire staff were awesome. Bad side was two nights we were all bitten and had red marks and extreme itching. They did have us lol at the same table by the second night so thank you to the staff. Sameer the magician was awesome. What a wonderful surprise for the kids and us. We booked four excursions one for each port. When we arrived in grand Cayman and arrived at our pick up point for the excursion we were told that our 3 year old was to going and could not go. Even the Shore Excursion staff were saying that was not true but when they went back with us they were told their policy changed. So she went and found us anothe similar excursion which ended up being so Much better then what we booked. Their entire staff were so helpful when we got back on board and made sure that all of our remaining excursions were perfect. Not impressed with dinner. Food was average and small portions. Staff was friendly and always smiling. Just too few and dinner was very very long. We were seated at 6pm and still ended up being one of the last tables served. Most evenings we were still finishing dessert while all the other tables had already been reset for the next seatingbat 8pm. Also bar service was extremely slow. Not due to the personnel but due to not having nearly enough staff for a fully booked ship. Overall ship was way under staffed, long lines everywhere but staff that was there was very friendly and helpful. Hats off to the staff. Read Less

We just got off the Glory and I wanted to mention a few things. We had a good time and the trip was fun as a whole. I will be looking into a new cruise line for our next trip as this was our 9th with Carnival. First and foremost for me was that the A/C in our balcony stateroom 7221 didn’t work. A technician came but he could only adjust it by 2* cooler. Secondly was the food. The Lido buffets were not very good and the desserts were disappointing. The dining room food was slightly better but still average overall. Room service just could not get our orders right either! The ship was very crowded with long lines to do everything. Our stateroom steward had a hard time getting our room cleaned up and each time we returned from dinner, a shore excursion etc. it was hit or miss wether our room was cleaned. Finally- the Stingray experience in Grand Cayman was a waste of money. There were 3 Carnival shops in port that day, with 60 people packed on a boat for a 40 minute ride to the sand bar where you got 2 seconds with a stingray while a crew member took a picture for $40 per person! First of all these are not cheap cruises and you work hard for your money so you should expect a great experience. Pros- beautiful places to see!! Western Caribbean was amazing. We had out of this world service from Trinidad and Prathtz in the platinum dining room. Aaron the was also on point. Great service. There was surprisingly always a very good amount of dining tables and beach chairs available on any given day. Totally eliminates the need to have to get up early to look for space. Cons- terrible service in the gold dining room the first 2 nights. They ignored our table completely and food was cold when it arrived. We got moved to the platinum room after that. Problem with plumbing gave off a horrible smell in our room and we had a flood of water in front of our door. Took a couple of days to fix this. We have been on 4 previous carnival cruises and we had great customer service. We were definitely disappointed that this ship is not as friendly and most staff don’t go out of their way. Will probably not do another carnival cruise. Read Less

Fifth cruise and 3rd cruise line. Second cruise on Carnival. We took our kids on their first cruise on Carnival Victory last year. Despite what we had negatively heard about Carnival, the cruise on Victory was above our expectations on all fronts. So my wife and I booked a 7-day for this Summer on Glory. Never again on Glory, and possibly never again with Carnival. The good - easy and fast embarkation, common areas of ship in pretty good shape for age, ALL staff we encountered practiced great customer service, excursions were all top-notch The Bad Food: Guy’s Burgers, Mexican, Deli, and Pizza all good, but limited availability for Burgers and Mexican - long lines for the other two. Buffet just not very good at all (and I’m not picky). Room: AC never got cold, we never kept covers on the bed and were still hot at night. Nearly everyone we spoke with had the same issue. Plus, rooms were so dated. Victory last year had renovated, and they were nice. These looked like 1982. Entertainment: Very poor. Comedians had a laugh or two in 30-minute shows. Theater shows were tragic. Again, Victory had a band in the orchestra pit, only tracks played on this. We left both early because we were bouncing in our seats laughing at how bad it was, and didn’t want to be disruptive. Overheard two performers at lunch one day discussing how they hate being on the ship and wondering how they can get out of their contracts. Finally, Fellow Passengers: Many we encountered were very nice and we got to know quite a few. We also understand with 3,000 people, you’re gonna find a jerk or two. But, the level of rudeness and disrespect from more passengers than we were comfortable with made for a not great time. We apologized to two separate tour guides on land for other people’s remarks regarding poverty in their countries. The level of ignorance these passengers displayed was embarrassing to us as fellow Americans. We had several experiences with passengers on board being mean to us or each other as well. Kids and adults ran down our hall late at night yelling and slamming doors...every night! Overall, we had fun because we are positive and fun people, but won’t step foot on Glory again. We may book with Carnival again on a newer ship that maybe is more expensive to weed out the riff-raff, but seriously doubting that right now. Read Less

This was our first Carnival Player's Club Premier Cruise with promotions in the casino, although it was our 40th cruise. We had priority embarkation and it was so smooth and pleasant. We ate in the main dining room on most nights and the food was good. Love the Guy's Burger on the Lido deck. The Red Sail buffet on deck 9 was ok. We only ate there for breakfast, and a lot of the time the food was lukewarm. We really enjoy the Seaday Brunch and look forward to them when we cruise on Carnival. The Playlist Production shows were entertaining. I went to one of the late night comedy shows and did not think the comedian was that good, I have been to much funnier shows. The movies on the pool deck were recent releases and it's always fun to watch a movie under the stars. We were just so disappointed in the cabin location, I felt I needed to write this review. Could not dock as water was too choppy,,,should have been given an on board credit.....Opened a bottle of their water even charged me for that should have at least let me have that for not stopping at port.Other than that staff was very polite ,,,food was good and entertainment was alright,,,I find they keep the ship itself very clean where the public is out and about....the bathrooms were always clean....There is too much push to shop shop shop this is supposed to be a relaxing vacation....They should also have phones around the ships so you can call the rooms to connect with your friends....not everyone carries cell phones we had a group of 10 and this would have been helpful don,t get me wrong the ship was beautiful and the weather. Roatan Island would have been wonderful to see ....Two days at sea was a bit too much but also realize it couldn,t have been helped Thanks Read Less

I have cruised with ccl over 30 times & overall it is a great value for the$$$. The #1 asset has always been & continues to be the friendliness & good service of the help, esp.the room stewards, dining staff & bartenders. I have 2 complaints overall. The 1st is that ccl seems to nickle/dime us to death. Fuel costs are lower now than they were 10 years ago,yet every ccl cruise I take there seems to be something less than prior cruises whether it be quality&quanity of food or entertainment. One example of food is that we now have an orange cocktail in place of orange juice for breakfast on the lido deck.As for entertainment we now have a dj where we used to have a solo performer,&we now have a solo performer where we used to have a duo or trio etc. My 2nd complaint regards compliance of smoking regulations. The casino bar is supposed to be 40%smoking&60%non-smoking.The smokers eexpand the ashtrays &signs thus making the casino bar to be 70%smoking&30% non smoking.Despite my complaint to guest services this practice continued. Smoking regulations are enforced on other ccl ships, why not on this one. Because of this I will not sail on theGlory again.ENFORCE THE RULES or change them. Read Less

it was a group cruise. embarkation and disbark was a breeze even with a child. we had plans for the ports so that was the focus of the cruise. Cosumel at the Chankanaabe (sp) park was fantastic even though it was too windy for snorkeling. Mayan replicas were extensive with a tour. sea lion show, great mexican buffet, we could see the dolphin experience through windows while eating the buffet. Awesome beach area. Dining on the ship: The evening meal was really good but you either have something fantastic like the seafood pasta dish, escargot and of course the chocolate melting cake (absolutely to die for) or you have something like basa (look it up, its a fish from vietnam that is cheaper on the market than cod and probably full of chemicals) its a fish that is on the don't eat list on youtube. we had the flat iron steak which was good, no complaints with that. Lobster one night only. prime rib 2 nights and fillet minion also. Ribs were some of the best I have ever had. Soups were good. Dining service was excellent, we saw the same people serving at the breakfast buffet as the evening dinner, they work very hard, other sites say the gratuities paid with the cost of the cruise is a surcharge and doesn't get reflected in the salary of the servers or the stewards so please plan on tipping. The buffet (deck 9) is like old country buffet. Some things were terrible (don't eat any fruit pies, my friend said its like cardboard with fruit on it). They need more coffee machines! coffee was out about half the time. But, the key lime pie was to die for. rum balls on the chocolate extravaganza were heavenly. we did the sit down breakfast in the dining room 2x and that was really good. Guy Furrers burgers and fries were good. deli sandwiches were good. Heres the low down on the bottomless bubbles. the only way to get soda is to stand in line at the bars. bar tenders don't want to serve you, it can take 20 minutes to get a soda with half the glass ice. They expect to be tipped. This cruise line needs a touch screen machine for soda! Even if it was only on the lido deck it would be better than the set up now. we barely got our moneys worth on that because we finally gave up on it. entertainment: not enough to do at all with my teen. shows were poor compared to my other cruise (I don't remember what line we were on then, it was years ago). very little for family friendly shows, some entertainment was in bar areas. movie night on the pool deck was fun 1x while in the hot tub. miniature golf was fun. one small pool for families and 5000 passengers. we stayed in the cabin after dinner most nights. Suggestion for carnival: at least have servers get drinks, coffee for people eating at the buffet, that would at least feel like we are being treated better than a free breakfast at a hotel. Shows need something like broadway reviews or performers, magic shows, something! I didn't get wifi but heard people complaining throughout the trip how slow, no service etc no matter what level you buy. I have seen the profit that carnival makes (reported on the internet) and this is shameful that lobster is served once, poor shows and the possibility that they are using the gratuities collected to pay the staff their base salary as opposed to a "tip" I hate to say this because of the hardworking staff but all in all this was an economy cruise. I would hate to see one with less amenities than this. I did not shop around for cruises because we were with a group so maybe this was the economy level. This cruise gets you where you want to go. We chose the cruise for the itinerary. The ship itself is getting dated and is in dire need of an update. Not as clean as I would have liked - had to ask to have beds cleaned, found old bread underneath my bed. Cabin really worn out. Holes in curtains, lampshades. Two ports with tenders. Really long waits in Belize to get onto a tender, and the ride to Belize itself is long. Roatan was a blast. Dining good but disappointed in food choices. We did zero excursions with Carnival, did them all ourselves and happier with that choice. Bar service poor - often we would stand at the bar ignored. We were billed for others' purchases. You cannot call anyone to have this corrected - you have to go down to guest services. Fewer deals at the shops. Cruise director annoying - Justin Timberlake wannabe. Activities typical. Entertainment good. Enjoyed the shows. Comedy mediocre. Read Less

This was my 3rd Carnival cruise, and it will unfortunately be my last. We did the same itinerary on the Glory in May of 2016 and had a great time, so we were excited to travel with Carnival again until we looked at our sail and sign bill. I like to play the quarter pusher game when I'm in the casino (even though I know I'll never profit) so I was really disappointed when I figured out that Carnival's new machine is designed to rip-off players. The first day that I played, I kept swiping my card for $10, and I thought that the amount of quarters the machine dispensed didn't look like $10 worth but I kept playing anyway. The next day, I finally decided to count, and I realized that the machine was only dispensing $5 worth of quarters instead of $10. From that point on, I only swiped my card for $5 since I knew that's all the machine paid out. When I got home and reviewed my sail and sign statement, I noticed that not only did Carnival rip me off by cheating me on the amount of quarters, but they also charged me double ($20 each time I swiped my card for $10, $10 when I swiped my card for $5) which meant that I ended up paying $10-$20 for $5 worth of quarters. I emailed their customer service department about this, and no one has gotten back to me, and it's been over 2 weeks. I don't expect to win money in a game like that since they're designed for the "house" to win, but there's a difference in losing money and being scammed. Aside from the casino, we had a pretty great time. I booked a suite since we had 3 adults in our party, and the quick embarkation process was great. We usually stay in an ocean view room, and I actually feel like we had more room in our ocean view room than we did in the suite because a good bit of the suite is taken up by the separate dressing area and closet space. We still had plenty of room though, and the room is great for anyone who needs a lot of closet space. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food on board, so no complaints there. We ate at the steakhouse the first night and enjoyed the half off a bottle of wine promotion. The food in the main dining room is never quite what you expect, but it was still good, and the wait staff is always so friendly. Guy's Burgers and Fries is our favorite thing to grab on Lido, but some of the other food is good as well. This is the first time I've had the opportunity to go to the sea day brunch, and the menu actually had more choices than I expected. The room service menu is limited, but it's a good choice if you don't feel like making the trek up to Lido for a late night snack. The evening shows never disappoint, the cast is always fantastic. Our favorite show is the love and marriage show, but I've never seen a show that I didn't like. During the day, there's plenty of stuff to do on the ship even if it's a port day, and we really enjoyed the trivia competitions this time. Overall, the cruise was pretty good, but I'd prefer to travel with a cruise line that doesn't rip me off. Read Less

This was an anniversary celebration for me and my hubby, booked it on the cheap due to cash constraints, but overall we were happy and satisfied with our vacation. Our ship left Miami port Dec 2nd and we visited Grand Cayman, Mahogany Bay, Belize and Cozumel. We had sunshine everyday (except about 30 min of rain in Cozumel). The Glory is nicely kept and clean throughout. We had an inside cabin, it was decent, nothing special. Only issue with our cabin was a stinky toilet, but when we brought this to the attention of the customer service desk they went out of their way to make it right! We expressed our gratitude and they sent champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to our room! Superb staff!!! I must admit I was not impressed with the muster call. I've cruised before, and the muster calls were much more organized. This time it was crowded, not done in a safe manner. Everyone on the ship (over 3000 guests!) were called to Deck 3 where we had to wait behind a yellow line, but there were so many people that it was crowded, stuffy, noisy. In our section we couldn't even hear the announcer, everyone was looking around wondering what we were doing there. I understand the instructions are also posted on TV in your room, but who has the time or willpower to sit through that when there is so much to do on board? As far as entertainment there was always something going on at the Lido pool and it sounded like a lot of fun! To be honest, we preferred the quieter side and adult pool and sitting in the sun, so we did not attend events during the day. As far as evening entertainment, we enjoyed the comedy club and the evening movies with popcorn under a blanket. We tried attending the big show in the Atrium, but it was cheesy and we walked out about 1/2 way through. We did book an excursion with Carnival and it was awesome, maybe a bit too short though. In Belize we were picked up by a tender boat and taken about 40 minutes away to Rendevous Island where we snorkeled and sat in the sun for a bit to dry. The island is uninhabited and quaint, quite peaceful, white sand, clear water...just heavenly! Our time on this island was short, but it was one of the best experiences. Beats going into town in Belize where you get hounded by street vendors the second you try to exit the port doors! We booked our other excursions via Trip Advisor: 1) Grand Cayman - we had booked Sting Ray City but it was cancelled due to the high tides on the north-east side of the island. We received a credit for this. The company we booked with took us to 7-mile Beach for $5 each, we walked to a more secluded area and spent the day in clear blue water and white sand...it was paradise! 2) Mahogany Bay - we booked a zip lining + beach excursion. Zip lining was fun, but where they dropped us off at the beach was not so much. The second we stepped on the sand we were hounded by vendors who would not leave us alone. The port in Cozumel was nice, but as soon as you exit the port again you are hounded by taxi drivers and vendors. We went into the information kiosk across from the port and inquired about where we were and how long to get to the city centre. They said 4 miles, so we decided to walk the 4 miles there, take pics, shop around mainly souvenir shops (nothing special, in fact we bought nothing...but we should have bought VANILLA!!!) and then walked back. It felt so good to get some exercise! Just a tidbit of advise, to use their bathrooms you pay 50 cents US. Toilet paper and paper towel is rationed and the bathroom is not what you are used to! With regards to the food, Guy's burger joint and the Blue Iguana Cantina were our go-to for lunches! Although the fries at Guy's were inconsistent (sometimes bigger, sometimes smaller, sometimes spicy, sometimes not) we were happy with the taste. Even the BBQ upstairs was delish. As for evening dining, this too was a little off. Although my husband had steak every night, I experimented a bit. At the late Dinner the first night our waiter didn't even wait for my husband to finish his appetizer, didn't even ask if he could take his plate away, when my husband said he wasn't finished the waiter said "your entrée is ready". That was rude. We switched dining times and section after that night. Also, I had asked for my steak Med-Rare, received Med-Well and did not enjoy it. For remainder of our cruise the food at the Platinum restaurant was not the best. It was inconsistent, and many times arrived cold when it was supposed to be hot. Overall the food was "ok". We dined with friends and at times ordered the same dishes, but they looked very different...again, inconsistent. Our waiters were pleasant and had riddles for us to solve each night. Overall, we had a great time, just my hubby and I on what felt like our second honeymoon! So much fun in fact we just booked a cruise for next year! Can't wait!!! Read Less

I was originally supposed to cruise on the Fascination on December 10th but Carnival called me 30 days before my cruise and said they were repurposing the ship for the San Juan disaster. I ended up spending double the money on this cruise because psychologically I was ready for my vacation/cruise. I ended up going on this cruise by myself due to a relationship ending. I don't think I will ever cruise by myself again as it was uncomfortable. The ship was okay. I toured it after embarkation and found everyone trying to sell me something and was saved by the mandatory muster drill. Cabin - It was the perfect size since it was just me. A bit dated though. My steward was great! It was clean and AC/heat worked great. The only two issues were the TV size and the noise. Way too close to the elevators and could hear people at all hours. The TV was far too small to view from the sofa or the bed. Dining - Maybe I am turning into a food snob, but if I am on a cruise, I am hoping to eat lots of GOOD food that is going to make me gain a few pounds. I actually lost 2 pounds on this cruise. The buffet was TERRIBLE! I ended up eating and Guy's burgers, the Blue Iguana and Ol' Fashioned BBQ. The dining was much better on this ship compared to the Vista as far as seating and wait times, and I loved the little show they put on, but the food was disappointing. Entertainment/Activities - A bit disorganized and boring. Some activities even the staff weren't aware they were supposed to be having. Example, used the Carnival app and would show the staff and say "Isn't this Alchemy? Is this happening here?" They said they would find out and let me know, but that didn't happen. Nowhere near the number of kids that were on the Vista, so you could actually swim or go into a hot tub! One of the pools was not in service due to being repaired for a couple of days after embarkation. I had a fabulous incredibly overpriced massage and got my hair done (she was fantastic), but both services ended up with someone trying to sell me overpriced eye or body cream or something. I ended up witnessing some lady having a breakdown until crew members escorted away. I also learned that an 8-year-old girl had fallen to her death in the Atrium only 2 months prior. I thought that was inappropriate for a crew member to share that with me. Service - Bartenders and cocktail servers were attentive. My steward was great. Restaurant servers, not so great. Ports - Mahogany Bay - a little island in Honduras was my favorite even with all of the vendors on the beach. I took a guided tour to the other side of the island and then hungout at the most gorgeous beach drinking at the little tiki hut. It was like the mountains went right to the beach, very beautiful. I would have been on the actual beach longer reading my book, but even with earphones in my ears, sunglasses on, laying on my belly reading a book in front of me, I was interrupted every 30 seconds with someone trying to sell me a massage, pay to pet their monkey, sell me beads, bead my hair, etc., etc. It was unreal. They weren't allowed in the bar area so I ended up staying at the tiki bar. I am going to try some other cruise lines to see if I have a better experience as I think twice on Carnival with bad food is enough since I am in love with cruising. I don't shop at Walmart because I hate the environment. To me, Carnival has that Walmart feel. Read Less

Embarking and disembarking in Miami were both very fast and efficient. The food was good, but below average for a cruise. The cabin was average. The service was excellent, but I've never had anything but excellent service on a cruise. The activities were poor, primarily because most of the ones I would have liked to attend were held at the smoke filled Casino Bar. This is the same on every Carnival ship I've been on except the Vista and I'm done with Carnival because of it. Cater to the small and dwindling percentage of people who still smoke and lose the rest of us! There was no on-demand TV either, free or paid. Due to this and the activities in the casino, sea days were boring as heck until 7:30 when the comedy shows started. The cruise director and assistant cruise director were both excellent. The sports deck was small and closed at 5 pm because it was situated directly above a premium restaurant and they didn't want balls bouncing on the roof during dinner. That's just incredibly poor design! The sports deck (cage would be more appropriate due to its small size) needs to stay open! Read Less
