Starting off on a positive note, it is evident the culture on this ship is focused around excellent service. Somewhere between 95-99% of the staff is incredible at their job. The cabin I stayed in seemed very reasonable, although the walls in(I think) all the cabins are very thin and a nightmare for light sleepers. The majority of the food I ate ranged from good to great quality. There’s a lot of tasty meals and snacks to be had. The on board entertainment was also a big highlight, there is plenty to do. Now one of my big cons comes in the form of organization. The ship was to leave at 3:30pm. We left at 6:30pm. It seemed the embarkation and debarkation was a you-know-what show. The onshore excursions were very unorganized. Our time would got cut every time and things listed to be on the package, weren’t. I was let down on all three locations. I’ll give you an example, we went to the Dolphinaris excursion in Cozumel (unlimited food and drink dolphin encounter or something of that nature), the gentlemen told us from the jump on the Pier that our excursion wasn’t ready, we waited, we waited, we signed a form, we handed in our ticket, we waited, we walked, and right before we got on the taxis they started to give us back our tickets to sign? Why didn’t we do that immediately? We lost so much time. Even if carnival has no control over this, they shouldn’t be handing us over to these clowns. Additionally, half the activities on this excursion got axed for slightly rough water. No kind of reimbursement. Onto me getting trapped in an elevator with a woman having a panic attack. On the night after leaving Cozumel, we were hitting some rough waves and I got stuck in an elevator on the NINTH floor, Carolina in guest services didn’t seem to care and suggested it wasn’t a big deal because I was only having 90 feet above the ground level for thirty minutes. Big ups to Carolina. Now with all this said, thanks to my loved ones and the convenience of the onboard activities/food, I had fun. But the Glory needs to address some of these problems going forward. Read Less

We just returned from the New Years cruise aboard the Glory. I admit, I was nervous after reading all the negative reviews. Thankfully I didn't let that change our mind. I was blown away, we had a marvelous trip. Carnival staff were kind, attentive and made us feel so welcome. Room was fantastic, food was good, Guys Burger Joint was our favorite! We did not do the Bubbles package as it was a lot of money and we are not huge drinkers. Our dining room staff were so sweet and attentive. Cookie was a fantastic as the cruise director. He was hilarious and so entertaining. We enjoyed trivia and the comedy club as well. Embarkation/debarkation was a breeze! We were on in less than 15 minutes, and off in about the same. I would book again on the Glory in a heartbeat! Most relaxing trip I have ever had. I miss sitting on that balcony feeling the warm sun on my face and breeze in my hair. Read Less

Food in the dining room was excellent as usual, but the buffet was not nearly as good as it usually is. Desserts on the buffet were tasteless and lacked variety. Cookies were hard as rocks. Breakfast at the buffet was delicious, but lunch and dinner were awful. There were about 5 choices for each meal. Room stewards were friendly and the service was wonderful. They kept the room spotless. Wonderful team! The entertainment was not great. It mostly included loud dance parties and trivia. There was little variety. The one saving grace was Cee Jay Jones, one of the comedians. Very talented and professional! On embarkation day, we got into our room pretty quickly and got into the buffet right away for lunch. They told us we'd be leaving by midnight, but I was disappointed to wake up in port the next day. It was frustrating that the crew told us one thing yet didn't deliver. Disembarkation was unorganized and chaotic. Cruise director called the deck numbers way too quickly, not allowing time in between for the lines to shorten and elevators to clear. Read Less

We chose this ship because we live close to port and it was a gift from our in-laws. I was trying to book from Miami on an MSC ship, but my in-laws wanted us to be closer to port. Everyone else was flying in, so we made the short drive. Two days before embarkation, I get a message from a facebook friend with a video of the Glory getting into an accident. Oh crap! We're not going to sail! By the next day, we get the information that we are going to sail, just we should board two hours later and we will have our ports re-arranged, as we will be leaving later (at midnight), in order to fix the hole in the Platinum restaurant. We arrive at port at 1:30 instead of 11:30 as we were scheduled. People are already on board. Great! We're missing vacation time. HOWEVER, within 10 minutes of walking into the terminal, we were on the ship. Single fastest embarkation ever. We immediately go to our in-laws room. They have a grand suite. It's HUGE. Tons of space. Then Red Sail for lunch and exploring. Red Sail is very good as is Blue Iguana. But we are very surprised by the BBQ restaurant. Outstanding. I love Guys (and heard dozens of people ask how they could have such good burgers consistently). We explore the ship and it's nice, but not very well stated. It's not garish, but it's not exciting either. It's incredibly clean throughout the ship, but it's also showing ares in needs improvements throughout. It's got paint chipping everywhere and the exterior isn't in great shape. Back to the voyage. We're supposed to leave at 5 p.m., obviously, but it's been rescheduled for midnight. They are working diligently to fix the ship. Dinner the first night was chaotic. Everyone is supposed to eat in the Golden Restaurant with anytime dining or in the buffet. We have a 30 minute wait for our party of 11. The dinner is rushed. It's fine, but it's not great or spectacular. We're supposed to be back to normal on night 2, so we'll reserve judgement until then. We retire to our room for the night. It's a very large oceanview stateroom. Plenty of room for us. We have three of these and have had more room in this stateroom than ever before on any of our 24 previous cruises, so that is nice. At 12:07 a.m., we haven't left, so I go to bed for the night figuring we're not leaving anytime soon. I wake at 7 a.m., and we're still docked in what is a very chilly, rainy New Orleans. We end up leaving at 10:15 a.m., which actually is nice. We can see the whole six hours of the Mississippi River as we get to open waters. Usually, you can't see all of it ever. After lunch, we get back to the room and we find a pleasant note. We are being given a $100 per stateroom OBC for our inconvenience AND a 1/7 refund on our cruise fare. I was not expecting this. Carnival really stepped up here. I don't know if they refunded anyone on the sailing that actually had the accident. As for the duration of the cruise, the food was very good, occasionally great, but mostly very good. The entertainment was lacking. We had a late dining time. Shows (the few that there were and those that were weren't all that great) were scheduled at 7:30 p.m., which was impossible for anyone with a scheduled dining time. We went to a couple, but had to leave before they finished for our 8:15 dining time. CD Cookie was enjoyable, but he repeated himself a lot. I think he did a great job coordinating activities and was generally enjoyable. We were able to go to the Platinum Restaurant on night 2. They did a great job getting it ready. It wasn't even noticeable that it was damaged and it looked like they lost about four tables. We went to the area on day one and it smelled awful there, a welding smell. By dinner on night two, it was all clean and smelled great. The dining team did great. We made our first stop on day 3 instead of day 2. It was Costa Maya instead of Cozumel. We were last in Costa Maya about 8 years ago. It's more built up than I remember. We hung out at the communal pool, ate nachos from a restaurant, did some shopping and went on the chocolate factory tour (my kid won a competition poolside and the "prize" was a 2-for-1 coupon to one of three places). Second stop was Mahogany Bay. It was a great day. We spent several hours at the beach. It's such a great stop compared to the town of Roatan itself. Third stop was Cozumel. It was our eighth time in Cozumel. If we stopped there first, we were going to go to Playa Mia, but since it was our last stop, we chose just to hang out in port and save some money. We shopped and went to Margaritaville (our inl-aws weren't up to doing much while we were in port ... they paid for the vacation, so we do what they want to). We were docked next to the Liberty, which looked like it barely had a scratch. Other things ... slot machines very tight ... very little on the television channels ... the carnival app was buggy ... my room had some extra charges we did not make (for a grand total of like $15, but since we had nearly $500 on OBC, we didn't worry about it much) ... lots of little problems (one of our rooms was unbearably hot, our TV just shut off after five minutes two of the seven nights, light switches didn't work in one of our rooms, we heard other things from other passengers that didn't work well around the ship or in their rooms). All in all, it was a great seven days. Not that you can have a bad day on a cruise ship. The refund was a great surprise. The ship looks old, but it was very clean. Probably wouldn't do the Glory again, but if I had to, I wouldn't turn it down. Read Less

The activities were good and we especially liked the Dr Seuss breakfast. Cookie the cruise director was hilarious and likable. The shows were good. The dining room staff were excellent and our cabin steward was wonderful as well. We just couldn’t get past all of the issues this boat has. Water leaking all over the place, Several blowers in hallway (deck 2) everyday. VERY LOUD noise from welding and whatever else they were doing EVERYDAY! Chemical/paint smell in our cabin that made some of us sick. Shower drain bubbling up with what smelled like sewage water. Sewage smell really bad in certain areas including lido deck. That sure affects the appetite!!! NO ONE MONITORING HAND WASHING OR SANTIZING OF HANDS AT BUFFET! Most of the time sanitize stations were completely out! The only positive was the exceptional crew! EVERYONE was super nice! Read Less

My bucket list contained cave tubing in Belize and this cruise was perfect for that. This was my third cruise and for my fiancé her first. We flew into New Orleans, spent the day before there and arrived at the cruise port early the next day due to our excitement. First off, the Cruise Director Cookie was so interactive the entire cruise. More than I ever saw in my other cruises. He will go far with his future. Our cabin steward Mohammad checked in with us everyday, kept our room clean and entertained us with his towel animals. Our wait staff was amazing. Randall, Jorge, and the little girl whose name we can’t pronounce (she went home after the cruise for a few months). They took excellent care of us. We left dinner each night full and happy. The farewell song sung by the wait staff was very touching. Two bartenders, Winston at the Red Frog on the Lido Deck and the girl with braces (a real sweetheart but her name escapes me) at the lobby bar took really great care of us. The entertainers were phenomenal, the shows in the Amber Palace simply fantastic. The girl at guest services even helped my fiancé with issues with her cell phone. Food was very good. But all reviews has to have negatives and there were a few. Obviously from our experience and what we have read in reviews the ship does have sewage issues. A few cabins down from ours must have had a sewage backup because the smell was horrible. The crew worked hard to rip up the carpet and it got better by day five. We were on Deck one. On the morning of the Belize port of call we had to meet in the Amber Palace to get boat shuttle passes. Very unorganized. A lot of confusion. The motion the night before the last day at sea and the last day at sea was horrible. I don’t get seasickness but I did. Swimming pool looked like a wave pool. With the exception of not being able to grab the pack of money in the claw machine in the casino, it was a fantastic cruise. Read Less

Parking cost was the first shock , 140 dollars ! But it was covered and very convenient. Getting on board was quick and easy , but we were confused as we were an hour early but we missed our group boarding time. was watching the game and yelling who dat . Nobody would stop talking . The crew kept trying to say no phones .... Nobody could hear or see a thing. My first cruise and I came away not knowing anything . Cookie the director was giving instructions that anybody who wanted to listen , could not because of all the noise . The crew member giving the life vest demonstration was so short bless him I couldn’t see him and people all around me were all saying the same thing . One of our suitcases went missing . We went to guest services multiple times and waited but the lines were so long we left . At one point a porter went past us with a trolley full of luggage ( including ours) I followed him and tried to retrieve it. He would not give it to me and told me to go to guest services . At almost 10 pm after a final wait in line of one and a half hours ( almost 5 hours in total wait time) I finally got to the counter and talked to girl ( who had to get permission from her manager) to take me to the room a few feet away to get the case. The lines were so long at mealtimes we never got to eat once at the restaurant. Buffet was great . Our only complaint was extremely small portions which meant respirated trips. Coffee stations were closed when buffets were. Only leaving one open 24 hours . It was really hard to find drink or food late at night . The pizza was open but the lines again were long and they could not keep up. Guys Burgers was great but the fries were burnt every time . Ice cream stations were continually empty, or not working. Eating areas were spotless and staff were all hard working and polite. The ships layout was extremely confusing and the elevators were a nightmare . The air conditioning at the shows was very cold . The cigarette smoke in the casino area was choking. The bunk beds were a little tight . Our shower flooded the entire bathroom every day and the cabin and our clothes smelt musty . Our cabin staff were friendly and the room was spotless . Several panels were out in the ceiling. We had a huge fan by our room trying to dry out the carpet for the last four days. The crew were working to repair something the first three but obviously they failed and gave up . Some people we met actually had their cabin flood from burst pipes. By mid week the sewerage smell was really bad over a lot of the ship. The shows were fabulous and the Veteran tribute was humbling and dignified. A few of the comedians were ok, but nothing to right home about . Only one was really funny. Young unattended children were on the stairs and sitting in the stairwells 24/7 . Many were running in the halls well past midnight . Huge groups of teenagers took up half the seating in certain areas all day and evening. We were not given wristbands on one excursion so hence we could not get onto the beach or pool. We had to fight to get back on the bus without them. The bus was overcrowded and small . One excursion was cancelled, during the night. The shore excursion office was closed the next morning so we could not rebook anything. We could not get into the hot tubs because they were always overcrowded. The spa was a rip off, the manager rude. Don’t waste your money but if you do don’t expect to pay what you were quoted . We booked something at night for the next day, tried to cancel but we were told we couldn’t because it was under 24 hours . We didn’t book it that long in advance and that was not explained to us. They tried to bill us 50% . I eventually got it cancelled because I went up there and vomited in the bathroom . I tried to tell them I was seasick but the manager didn’t believe me. A staff member actually cancelled it behind the managers back. But it was super clean and the staff were amazing. The hot stone massage was lovely but extremely overpriced . Gratuity was extremely high on all the drinks and spa services . Watch for hidden Chargers everywhere. I asked for the refill cup on Sunday and was told they have no such thing. I could not find anyone who knew anything about it until Wednesday. We waited in line for a long while to buy some earrings . When we got to the counter we were told to go to the other register. We went to the other register , waited for an even longer time then was told to go back to the first register . We walked out. This happened again at the photo booth. If you plan on buying internet or photos get the package before you sail. Carnival hub did not work unless we were docked. The behind the fun tour was well worth it . Lovely gifts. Informative tour. But again we were not even tickets or information when we booked and we almost missed it . We were on deck one , first to disembark off the ship supposedly. The elevators were not coming down . When deck two was called probably 75% of deck one was still trying to get off. It caused a lot of frustrations and tempers to flare. Summary:- the ship is old , small and needs repairs ,. The plumbing and sewerage have major issues . I was cold all the time . Expect long lines for absolutely everything.. Cigarette smoke is really bad in the casino. The sewage smell was horrific . Does roll a lot and several people who are long time cruisers said this was the first time for feeling sea sick . Dining room does not function well. Very limited 24 hour food (especially late evening) Lack of organisation causes problems. Not good at problem solving . Don’t expect it to be any different on Thanksgiving than any regular day. No real meal except turkey. No fun parades like other ships had . Would not say it is very easy to get around in a scooter or wheelchair. Staff are amazing, polite , friendly hardworking. The ship is super clean . Food was good..... when everything is working it’s great. We still had a lovely relaxing holiday. I would cruise again, just not on on the poor old Carnival Dodgy. Finally before you think I’m hard to please, this is not the case. I’m trying to give a honest review. The same complaints we had , everyone around us was saying too! Read Less

As a big Carnival fan over the years, it pains me to write this review. The experience was not what it used to be! Most staff members were friendly and customer service-oriented, but not to the level of past cruises and I did encounter exceptions to customer friendly service for the first time on this cruise. Getting drinks around the pool area was a challenge, something I've never encountered with Carnival. They used to have staff circling constantly to offer drinks. On this cruise, when I gave up in desperation waiting for a drink at my lounge chair, I walked to the bar to get my own drink and had a ridiculously long wait to get a drink from a surly bartender who never uttered a word or smiled! I'm guessing the apparent staff cuts are causing overworked and unhappy workers. Food was excellent as usual for Carnival, though the breads at dinner were not as fresh and warm as in the past and on this cruise we had to ask for breads and pastries when breakfast was ordered. It appears the days of waiters circulating at breakfast to offer fresh bread and pastries is over. On multiple occasions, the waits to get served in the dining room and at the Pizza place were totally unacceptable. Overall, still a fun vacation experience if we don't try to compare to ten past Carnival cruises - I admit they spoiled us in the past - but cuts everywhere were quite evident. It looks like they are trying to replace people (quantity and talent) with technology on the stage shows, but that isn't working. Also, the comedy talent was not the quality of past cruises. I do give Cookie credit for being an outstanding cruise director! I would honestly be willing to pay a bit more to get the old Carnival experience back! Read Less

I was invited by friends to take this cruise. I had never cruised Carnival before but have been on 2 NCL cruises and loved both of them. I just booked another cruise with NCL and will never cruise Carnival again. This ship Is absolutely disgusting. The food literally turned my stomach. We didn’t eat half the food we ordered because it was so gross. This is the first cruise I have ever actually lost weight on.The ship stunk and smelled like sewage. We literally held our breath at times walking down the halls. Everything was sticky and dirty. I brought Clorox wipes thank God and wiped my room down. Our shower did not drain properly and had a brown slimy film. I cleaned it myself several times. Even the balcony was filthy. There are several outlets in the ship that don’t even have covers just wires hanging out, tile falling off, broken and stained furniture. The very first morning at sea I ordered coffee to be brought to the room to enjoy with my husband on the balcony and they decided to come and treat the rust on all the balconies so they weren’t even usable for several hours at the beginning of the cruise. We needed a vacation so bad and this was such a disappointment. The only saving grace was we went with amazing friends! Don’t waste your money on this cruise!!!! Read Less

Our Steward was great. Kept our room clean and tidy. Our dinner waiters were great. The biggest complaint I have with the dinning was cross contamination from the kitchen. I am highly allergic to all seafood! Anything that comes from the water! I informed the waiters from the start. I still have an allergic reaction every night. EVERY night I had to take Benadryl! So frustrating! This is a life or death situation! The Morning waiters were slow. They forgot to bring a spoon, sugar and milk when they brought coffee. By the time the spoon came the coffee was cold. There were many nights that sewage smell was horrible in the hallways of some of the floors. This was my 6th cruise with Carnival first time on the Glory. I do not think I will ever go back on the Glory ship. I traveled with a friend. She feels the same way. To many problems. One morning we woke up the our room feeling like a sauna. It took someone 3 hours to fix it! 3 hours!!! The entertainment wasn't like in the past. It was NOT good at all! The piano bar had the best entertainment on the whole ship! He was fantastic! The casino bar only catered to smokers. Us non smokers had to get a waiter attention to get a drink every time! The jamaica excursion was a joke! We went to Hard Rock . The beach was beautiful. But the food and service sucked. No one ever came to ask if we needed anything. We had to flag someone down or go get it ourselves. When you pay top dollar for an excursion you would think you get something better then Hotdogs and Hamburgers! Not even homemade Hamburgers!! The jerk chicken and rice was good. I'm very disappointed in this crew and the ship! Never again for the Glory! Read Less

Embarkation was quite smooth and quick. We had an ocean view cabin at the very front of the ship. The cabin was clean and our cabin steward was great. The ship's layout is okay but you can see that it is an older ship (inside and outside) that needs an overhaul. The food on this ship was not that great to me particularly breakfast on the Lido Deck. We ended up eating breakfast in the dining room which was much better. Our overall experience in the dining room was good. We had great servers in the evening. The entertainment on the ship was just okay. It is time for Carnival to have new stage shows. I usually enjoy the comedy shows but the comedians on this cruise were just not that funny. The highlight of entertainment for this cruise was Halloween. It was amazing!! The costumes were just incredible and we really enjoyed participating!!! We played in the casino a lot. There were a lot of cigarette smokers in the casino. The smoke choked you. I tried to bear with it because I know that is how it is!!! I even met some very nice people who were smokers but their smoking was killing me!! LOL. Our ports of call were very nice. We took an outside excursion in Montego Bay which was a tour of the island that included lunch at a local restaurant and 2 hour stay at a beach. We did a Carnival excursion in Grand Cayman to a semi-submarine just outside of the gate at the port. I am not sure why we had to get on a bus to go right outside of the gate. It was definitely not worth the money. In Cozumel, we went to Mr. Sanchos which is a beach resort. It was wonderful there!! Disembarkation went smoothly and we had an overnight stay in New Orleans which was wonderful!! Read Less

We're Carnival Cruise regulars - gold status - and just returned from a fabulous cruise to Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel on Sunday, after first spending a week in New Orleans. The ship is definitely showing signs of age and wear, but who cares when the crew members are amazing, helpful, and downright friendly. From Made, our cabin steward (Deck 8, forward), to the staff at Guest Services, EVERYONE, bar none, was delightful, courteous, and seemed genuinely interested in assisting their passengers. We usually plan our own excursions, but went with Carnivals top-rated ones for each post on this cruise, and I'm so glad we did. The jeep tour in Montego Bay (with crazy man Kasha driving) was informative, scenic, and better than the "Indiana Jones" ride at Disneyland!!! We saw beautiful scenery, stunning hidden waterfalls, and experienced a monsoonal downpour - and Kasha kept the jeep up on all four wheels for the duration! The kayak tour and swimming with stingrays in Grand Cayman was a blast too - stingrays really are just "sea puppies" and thrive on love and attention. And Cozumel, one of my favorite ports, was amazing as usual - started the day with a taxi ride into town for some much-needed shopping (spent two hours in Los Cincos Soles (The Five Suns)) and made it back to the ship just in time for our scheduled Champagne Elite Catamaran tour, which was THE best snorkeling excursion I've ever been on - including those experienced on the Hawaiian islands. You can't have a bad snorkeling experience in Cozumel, but the boat's crew had us feeling like family after four hours - they fed us (way too much) the most delicious and home-made food (don't even get me started on the guacamole!) and plied us with alcohol - as much as you could drink - and other tasty beverages. Just typing this has me yearning for more - time to plan my return trip to New Orleans and another cruise on the Glory ASAP! Read Less

The cruise began by parking at Fulton Place in New Orleans. The shuttle service was very easy and convenient. Embarkation was quick and we passed through security without any problems. Our cabin was clean and ready by 1:30. Our cabin steward kept our cabin clean throughout the cruise but there was very little interaction with the steward. We had anytime dining and we ate most evenings at 5:45. Our waiter and team were excellent (Sucipto, Leeroy and Bedja). We enjoyed the seaday brunch. It was much better than eating on the Lido Deck. The evening meals were good. We tried the picked shrimp appetizer and it was excellent. We asked for a second. We do not watch the musical shows. The comedians were all good. Just June/Mom's Manley was very funny. My wife likes to play the quarter machine in the casino. It has a bonus game with tokens and letters. If you spell the word "bonus", you win $100. The ship put only one "s" in the machines the whole cruise. We have been to each of the ports several times. We did excursions in Belize and Cozumel. The beach and lunch in Belize was OK. There is not much to do on the island and we were ready to leave. We went to Playa Uvas beach and lunch in Cozumel. Again, it was OK. The food was good. Disembarkation was great. One day we had to endure the cleaning of our balcony , and another day we had to exit our cabin so they could shampoo the carpet. Let’s talk about the muster drill. We were standing on the deck, lined up against the wall. Then they lined up four more rows of passengers in front of us. It was hot! I thought I would melt! Babies and small children were crying and finally most of them fell asleep on their miserable, hot mommas. All while they called out cabin numbers of passengers that were not there. In the past we were seated in one of the dining rooms while this was done. The staff: our room steward was good. I can’t say great, because I never saw him! There was a waitress at the first High Tea who decided to educate us on where the tips/gratuity go. I had chosen one of the ‘premium’ teas and she brought me a receipt to sign. I know that gratuity is added to every ticket, so I drew a line through the ‘extra tip’ section, and handed it to her. She was not happy. She told us that only the room steward and our regular waiter get the gratuity and extra tips would go the staff waiting on us. I was stunned. I look at her and just said Really? I then turn back to the table and ignored her. I wanted to tell her that maybe she should find another job! However, on the second to last night we were seated way in the back of the dining room. Our waiter was Elder. He was fantastic! He has been with Carnival for 33 years! He is from Honduras and we chatted a bit. The last night you bet I requested to be seated in his area! All in all the cruise was good. It wasn’t great. The CD, Dustin Gabriel, was ok. He was fun during the events, other than that, I never saw him. He sort of had an ‘I’m important’ attitude. I will sail Carnival again. Maybe not on Glory for a while. Read Less

I chose this ship simply because it was the only porting out of new Orleans. If i had a chance to pick again. It would've been carnival dream or triumph which is carnival sunrise. The restaurants were basic..the only thing i enjoyed was the pizza. Normally i enjoy all restaurants, but not this go round. The food selection sucked. Oh yeah guys burger was absolutely amazing..including the ice cream was perfect. Customer service was also pretty good. Shows could've been better..ship very small..meaning its not alot to do on sea days besides sleep or casino activities. Maybe a couple raffles here & there. The entertainment was okay for the most part, I've experienced better on other ships. The ship on the 6th day was unbearable because of the rocking of the ship..alot of sea sickness. The biggest upset on my end was the buffet on lido deck. It was awful. Everyone taste bud is different and to each it's own. But i definitely didn't enjoy the food. So that was disappointing because i love trying new thing. Definitely in need of an upgrade. They don't even have "The wok" nor Italian restaurant Read Less

Excellent service, excellent food, everything was wonderful! Camp Ocean has an awesome staff, our grandson is 9 and did not want to leave. We received a post card delivered to our cabin from the staff saying how nice it was to have him attend along with some of the activities he did. Very caring staff. Cabin Steward Adrian was exceptional! Room was perfect-always had ice. Was very prompt with our laundry. Excellent personality, I love-love the towel monkey! Cabin 1101 was located on deck 11 on the side of the Spa and under the Serenity Deck. Only a few rooms in the hall, no cabin across from ours. Be aware that one evening is a scheduled Serenity party beginning at 11:00 pm till whenever. Thought the ceiling was coming in from all the stomping. We would have stayed up later if we had caught the event on the Fun Times. Only negative thing I can say is the meet & greet was a disappointment-close to 50 people attended, this was on the next to last day, half way through someone contacted guest services that no one from Carnival was there. Each ship does it differently-there should be a standard so we know what to expect Read Less

We like to cruise every year my family Husband and two teenage boys. This was our 5th cruise and our second on Carnival. We flew to New Orleans and stayed at the Four Points Sharaton located in the French Quarter ( not recomemended for families as it is located on Bourbon St in the middle of the French Quarter and the Kids will not enjoy the experience. Young Adults who love to party will love it. The cruise from New Orleans was a nice change from other cruises as the first part of the cruise we were able to sit on the Balcony and watched the river it was nice to not be out to sea until well after sunset. Again on the return trip watching the lights along the river was relaxing well worth the balcony. The Embarkation was quick and pain less from the hotel check out to the Lido deck was approx. 30 minutes total. We checked out at 1055 and we were on board at the Buffett by 1130. Dining we were assigned the Upper Golden dining room First off our servers in the dinning room were excellent. Sunu, Myat and Tangkas were friendly and quite fun we enjoyed conversations and had a great time with them. The dancing during table service was fun. However, I do not like the set dining times. I tried to get My time dining and was on a wait list and had the late dining. This is my biggest complaint for Carnival. They seem to try to co-ordinate shows for the various dining times however, I feel I miss something when I have the late dinning times and there is one show. You really have to look at the Fun Times to get the best of everything. I did not have very many hot meals warm but not Hot. The meals were delicious. Soups were usually hot but not the main courses. When you are feeding 1500 people between two dining rooms at one time that can be challenging. The Sea day Brunch was well used on this particular cruise. Line ups when ever we attended. The service was slower but I didn't have to fight the crowds at the buffett. (TIP) Check the Fun Times for the days the dining room is open on Port days there are far fewer people these days in the dining room as most don't realize it is open. The Kids programs My kids were engaged and I rarely saw them one was with the Circle C group and the other was with the O2 and both were gone off to the activites and did not come looking for me what so ever. I was usually in bed before they were. They both loved the cruise. On the first day a parent needs to check them in we did not realize that you could sign them in earlier in the day, and the sign in was at 830 and our dining was at 815 in the middle of our dining time. Our kids rarely ate with us other then the one manditory dinner I make them have with me. The clubs break for dinner if you have an early dining time it works out for you, me not so much. Entertainment We were able to get to one show the Motown it was excellent I have seen this production on another ship and it was still a good show. If you like Motown you will enjoy the show. The Comedy club This seemed to be a hit. It was a packed room every night for the late show at 10:00. We made the 11:15 show once and we made the pg show with our kids at 7:00 a few times. There were four different Comedians and we saw all four they were great. The Sing along with Cassidy-Rae She will be leaving the ship in a couple weeks so If you have the chance go into the Cinn-o-bar and sing along. Cassidy-Rae will try to full fill your requests. She downloaded the song Beth by Kiss listened for a short amount of time and was able to play the song and did an awesome job. Impressive how she is able to figure out the cords and play as quickly as she did. The Art Auctions I enjoy the Art auctions it is entertaing during the day. If anything go for the Champagne. Jade the Auctioneer and his team were excellent he did try to put everyone's request up for bidding. He spent a few minutes describing different pieces and moved along quickly as possibe. He did not completly focus on one artist which was nice. I did not attend the presentations as I had seen the Peter Max and Thomas Kinkade presentations on previous cruises and I was not interested. The Team were quite attentative during a discusion Kayla had picked up that I liked a certain artist and dug deep into the vault to pull out a picture that would not normally have come out on the floor. Which was nice to see they appreciate the cruisers and don't put what they want out on the floor. If you are looking for an artist be sure to ask this team they will find what you are looking for. Ports Montego bay; Grand Cayman; Cozumel Montego Bay there is nothing immediately off the ship. It is quite a walk to the downtown and the beach with the Markets. We decided to do an excursion through the ship as I wasn't sure if I would be left behind with the relaxed Jamaican attitude. Carnival will not leave you if you if you book through them there was a tour who came back late and the ship waited. River rafting and Beach Adventure. The River rafting was excellent had a great time not too physical. be sure to bring along some money to purchase drinks along the way. The Beach portion of the tour, I could have done without. We went to the Hard Rock Cafe Beach it was small and you had to pay extra for the use of chairs and umbrellas on the beach. It was a very small beach and a lot of Jelly fish were in that day. Good thing the beach visit was only an hour. Grand Cayman Lots of shopping right off the ship. We shopped till we dropped and enjoyed the day. Cozumel Again shops right off the ship. I have been to Cozumel before and should have done an exucursion here this time, to enjoy myself. And since this is a popular port with 6 ships in port. Excursions will book up. If you like the markets in Mexico then it wasn't a bad day. Other then it was soooo hot. but, you can't control Mother Nature. Carnival Hub App This is a great way to quickly look up where to eat and the activites of the day. You can track your spending and book excursions. There is also a chat between cruisers for $5 per device. I do recommend downloading the App. (TIP) Read the Fun Times as well. As not all activities are on the App. For example The App stated check in to the Camp Ocean was at various times however, this was also for the older groups as well and I would not have had to go during dinner. I didn't know it referred to all the Kids Clubs. And some repetitive activites are not always on the App. They are getting better with the App and I suspect Carnival will go paperless soon however, it still needs some work. I avoided the Casino and activies near the casino as much as possible since it is the primary smoking area and I don't not enjoy the smell of smoke. Which is hard to do since it is in the middle of the ship. I found there were some ignorant smokers who were smoking practically everywhere. If you can believe one guy was smoking in the elevator. Another on the balcony. The ventilation on the 5th floor is not great and you do smell smoke around the Casino. Most portraits are in this area and I did not wish to be in Elegant dress and walk through smoke. Disembarking We had a late flight and wanted the latest possible time off. We enjoyed breakfast in the dinning room and waited up on the Lido deck until they called our number. The line moved with little wait and the whole process was less than 15 minutes. TIP: Pack a sweater/jacket as the air conditioning works very well on this ship. I often went outside to warm up. All and all my family and I enjoyed our vacation and will cruise again. Read Less

The Carnival Glory is a grand ship that is pleasing to the the eye. Every detail of this ship has been carifully and magically created by the designers. The staff was friendly and informative about the activities that were happening aboard the Carnival Glory. The cleaning team under Aurelio care did a fantastic job of keeping the rooms clean and I enjoyed that they folded the towels into animal shapes. The food aboard was creative and pleasing to taste. The cooking staff and the servers were always ready to make your dinner special. The cruise director kept the spirt alive making every day grand. The islands were beautiful but my favorite was Belize. I saw temples that had been constructed along time ago that had held the test of time. The wild life was vast , Monkies swinging from the tree tops , a real adventure. Good job Carnival looking forward to setting sail again. Read Less

The Carnival Glory was an excellent ship experience right down to the service for the dining room with our cruise servers Savio, Cassandra and Pavu. They gave us top notch service every single night. Then our stateroom steward Indra was great at keeping our room clean. We did three excursions in Hondorous, Belize, and Cozumel. We celebrated our grandsons birthday on the ship and they gave him special treatment with a cake and a gift from Dr. Seuss characters. We attended the Dr. Seuss breakfast which was a great time and breath taking decorations. My other two grandkids loved everything and my little granddaughter was loved on by all the staff. My only complaint would be my daughter was told that my granddaughter who is 15 months old could not swim unless she was potty trained, but after we talked with the service desk it was fixed. Also the shows at night were so good, the dancers and singers held your attention to the fullest. It was a great time on Glory, so sad to leave and I would do it all over again. Thank you for a fantastic time Carnival Glory and all the staff! We love you! Read Less

We are repeat customers. Our son turned 21 and wanted to go to New Orleans. My husband doesn't care for New Orleans so a cruise from New Orleans was the perfect option. Carnival never disappoints. The cruise director, Dustin was always positive and got the crowd motivated. The dining room staff Eko, Dominique and Cipta were always on point! Embarkation was amazingly smooth. The ladies directing cruise traffic needs to work on their Customer Service. They were a little too sassy and not in a funny way!! Customer Service should mean "friendly". This is the first impression of your experience. The comedians were great!! June reminded everyone that they were on vacation, love each other and have fun. I think the reminder always goes far!! I wish there were more dancing type shows on the ship. The Roatan excursion to see the kayaking, snorkeling, parrots and monkeys was the best! Monkeys make everything better!! The Tubing and lunch excursion in Belize had an extremely long ride. The long ride for the short "guided" tubing experience was nothing I would recommend. All in all it was a fantastic experience on board!!! Read Less

We chose this cruise because Port of NO is a great very fast port to use. It was worth the 8 hour drive to NO instead of fighting all the traffic that would’ve been in FL. Getting on and off were as easy as walking out to my mailbox. We were the only cruise at the port which is probably why. $22 a day to park was really freaking pushing it but again my car from the boat was like walking to my mailbox. My wife and I were bored most of the time. Things on sea days pretty much all cost extra money. $40 dollars for a couple bingo cards come on! She had been on NCL and said she was never bored. Okay here we go excuse the bullet points 1. Boat seemed larger than expected and decent amount of space for everyone considering most boats are now 3900 people. Glory has 2900 2. If you couldn’t find space in one of the 2 pools there are literally 6 hot tubs throughout the ships. 60 percent of time you could get in there comfortably. By the look of other videos I’ve seen of other ships the Glory does seem to have more room with the layout. 3. I was disappointed in the souvenir shop clothes etc part. I thought with 2900 people it would be bigger. The jewelry store is 2x it’s size which is a money maker. 4. Cruise director Dustin definitely worked extremely hard. I would just suggest him to slow down while talking especially directing a cruise in the southern part of the USA. Sometimes hard to listen to because of it. 5. 50 percent of the staff on the boat seemed to dislike their job. I understand they literally get slaved but it’s kind of rubs off. 6. Dining room. We had anytime dining. I would suggest going between 7-8. Dining times are 6 & 8 for scheduled. At least at that time the rush is slowing down before picking up. For the amount of people they serve I would give the service above average. We only had one bad experience out of the 7 nights and I asked to sit on other side which worked out great every night. The last 3 nights on the cruise the dining room food choices became limited to an upscale standard. 7. Cabin. Definitely felt 2003. Pink colors with tan-yellow. Beds I would give 2 stars especially since it came out to being $315 a night for 7 days. Our steward sadly 2 days in a row took our beach towels and forgot to return them; which is a big no no considering their $30 a piece if considered stolen. I hunted him down to get them those 2 days. 8. Deck 8 was our room. The rocking was never really bad I would say 2out5 we were in the front as well interior. 9. Comedy club was I would say above average. We had 4 comedians and 3 were always average. 10. Food on lido deck was average. Sometimes cold if you ate after 2 when coming back to boat on port days. It felt sort of disorganized with all the meats in to different areas of ships. 11. Pizza pirate was average. The pizza is thin as 2 dollar bills. The logistics of it idk but there was usually a line with a wait during the day. 12. Burger joint. Not something I want when laying out in sun. To hot to have a big greasy burger. Went and pooped about a hour after having one. Read Less

We went with 3 dear close friends on a 5 day from New Orleans. We had an excellent time. Tony our Steward was excellent and took great care of us !! Food outlets and restaurants as well steak house were great, We loved Café Denis in Cozumel but stayed on ship in Progresso as its too far to go anywhere in our opinion. The folks at The Alchemy Bar especially EDUARDO were fabulous !! Great service and great fun !! Didn't care for the comedian but that's a personal taste. Many enjoyed the show. We would sail it again. The Love and Marriage show was fun but not LGBTQ friendly in terms of having a same sex couple up there. There were numerous gay couples on board, and a diverse crowd. Everyone got along and there were no issues on board except a late fire alarm that I didn't hear about thanks to a few too many XO Martinis. I love the glory and would sail it again. Its an easy ship to navigate and not too large. Its starting to show its age a touch but Im sure Carnival will refurbish it within a few years. We loved it and I recommend it. Read Less
