Carnival Glory???? Not By My Standards

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Carnival Glory

It was apparent from the start that Carnival is trying to enhance their bottom line, often at the expense of their "guests". The so-called "shows" were pathetic...almost all dancing, and even that not well done. The costumes were second rate as well. Our room was a nice size (mini-suite), but the decor was in bad taste. It had a "glitzy" feeling....oranges, golds, pinks, etc. Around the fifth ...

I am not a frequent cruiser but my friend had never been on a cruise, so I thought a short one would be a great introduction. My friend really needed a wheel chair - we waited 1 hour 40 minutes and although we asked about this after 1 hour, they finally let us walk through the place where the wheelchairs go. When we asked the first time, we sort of got a shut up and sit down attitude. Some of the ...

Will never sail Carnival again

Sailed on the Glory week of July 29, 2013. Two main reasons for taking the trip were 1. We have been to many Caribbean Islands and wanted something new; and 2. Impressed with a lot of the reviews. Even with the bad wrap that Carnival gets, our two cruises with Carnival were fun so it did not deter us. Unfortunately, the Glory trip has changed our opinion of Carnival and we will not cruise with ...

We booked this cruise just 3 weeks in advance because the price was too tempting to pass up and now we know why. There were a few good things - great ports, great casino, and great room but overall it was pretty bad. The food was extremely disappointing. My husband had pasta with sausage and green peppers on day 1 and it was missing sausage and green peppers. All he had was some pasta with ...

Will Not Sail Carnival Again.

We have had a disappointing cruise with Carnival several years ago. A group of us had vacation time and decided on a cruise to Canada. Carnival worked well with our schedule, left from NYC, and price was right. Embarkation went smooth and we were having lunch by noon. Buffet was adequate but service lacking. Staff was not friendly. Room was ready by 1pm and bags there by 2:30pm. Good job on that ...

We sailed on the Glory on Saturday September 15th for our 7 day New England & Canada cruise. Our primary reason for choosing this itinerary was because we had sailed on the Glory last August (2011) on a 5 day to Canada and had a good time. This trip offered the additional stops in NE and thought it would be a great itinerary, which it is. Day 1, Embarkment Day (Saturday) Embarkment was smooth. ...

We just came home from a 5 day disaster on the Glory. We have sailed Carnival many times before and had been nothing but pleased. Its been less than 6 months since our last Carnival cruise on the Miracle and that was wonderful, so we didn't figure they would have forgotten how this cruise thing works in that short of time. First off many crew members were openly rude. The Lido buffet was ...

This cruise was a family reunion for my uncle's 50th anniversary, so the line and destination were decided on by their family. The group included seniors down to young children. We traveled with my daughter (10) and son (2.5). The embarkation was well done, not too long of a line, although we got several pre-embarkation emails from Carnival. One that moved back our time to 2:00 (which also said ...

Lower your expectations to avoid disappointment

I pride myself with having the ability to find the positive in everything. I'm definitely a glass half-full type. Well my recent cruise aboard the Carnival Glory was a true test and I'm not sure I succeeded. I have cruised quite a bit, but never with Carnival, so I researched the ship, itinerary and the cruise line itself quite extensively. I probably read every trip report written over the ...
