This was my second cruise with Carnival, and we had a great time as expected. The service was outstanding. Most of all we want to give a shout out to several crew members: Thuthisa and Sanja-servers in the Saphire dining room, Glenn-server at the Red Frog Pub, and Arnata-our cabin host. These folks truly made our trip such a delight; we will deeply miss seeing them, and we will cherish all the memories of the laughs we shared night after night. I am not a big snob about decor so we can sum it up as clean and beautiful. The food was good. We stuck to eating mostly in the dining room, but we also tried Guy's burgers a few times, and we have no complaints. Carnival ships are all about having fun, and they do a great job of giving you the opportunity to stay engaged. As far as the cruise ports... I hated Jamicia. The Montego Bay port runs a racket for duping tourists. We asked for a cab to take us to Doctors Cove and were shown to a small bus that charged 7.00. Once on the bus and driving, we were informed that we would not be going to Doctors Cove. Instead, they were offering for 11.00 more than the 14.00 fair to a souvenir shop and back, they would take us all around to several places so that we can experience Jamicia to the fullest and we would also go to a "much more beautiful" beach than the crowded tourist destinations. At this point, you were already stuck paying 14.00, so it didn't sound so bad. What ended up happening was we stopped at a shop with a bunch of crap made in China, drove halfway up a driveway and looked at a former plantation house (but we never went up to the house), sat in a hot, crowded bus as we went through a part of town that was not safe for tourists, and ended up at a beach that we had to pay 5.00 each to get in and had broken glass everywhere and garbage strewn about. I highly recommend you book a cruise excursion. You've been warned. The Cayman Islands If you like to shop, this place is for you, but the island dollar is worth more than USD so prepare to pay a bit more for your souvenirs. The snorkeling part of our Pirate Boat excursion was canceled due to high winds, but we made the most of the open bar and had a good time nonetheless. Cozumel We had the most fun here. The locals are friendly, there is a lot of stuff to explore around the ports, and we booked a private excursion of horseback riding for over two hours through the jungle and to Mayan ruins. I can't wait to revisit Cozumel. Overall, I have no complaints about the ship or Carnival Cruise lines. As for the ports, we should have booked more excursions. Lesson learned. Read Less

This was our second Carnival cruise. First one was almost 4 years ago and I am so glad they improved on the embarkment and disembarkment. Before, they use to snap pictures of people when trying to get off the ship at ports right on the gang plank. Now, they moved that to the dock, much better and disembarkation went so quickly going on and off. We did have a 2 hour delay getting on in Miami which was crazy and no one ever explained to us what was going on, but you're on vacation and away from the snow so no big deal standing in the sun in Miami for us Canadians. We had a balcony and it is the only way I have cruised so far so can't compare it to anything. Room was the usual small cabin/comfy quarters but how much time does one spend in their room, right? The cabin steward kept our room clean and lovely towel animals. Use to get chocolate on pillows but didn't get any this time. We went to Grand Turks, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts and St. Maarten - Puerto Rico is still my favourite place. Saw damage from hurricane's in PR but especially in St. Maarten. So sad. The planes are returning to St. Maarten. Did not do any excursions on this trip so can't recommend. Entertainment was good. Matt the Entertainment Director was great, very funny. The staff on the ship work very hard and are always so polite and friendly. The ship is kept very clean considering there are thousands of people on it. Dining, Buffets and Food: I am a plant based vegan and that was impossible on the ship unless I only wanted to eat salad every meal. I started eating vegetarian on the ship, which also was harder than you would think given it is 2018. In the dining room one evening, I was about to order the tomato soup as a starter but my waiter informed me it was made with "chicken" stock. Seriously! Then whenever I found stir fry at the buffet, it had chicken or shrimp or both. Only once I found it with just veggies. I went to the asian place for lunch and ordered a veggie stir fry and it was good, although very small. I found the selection of food anywhere on the ship terrible if you were vegetarian and for get it if you were vegan. Family I was with had lobster one night at dining and the lobster was mostly raw. I think for the amount of money I paid (and for Canadians, we also have to fly to a port), the food should be better with options that are not ALL meat, cheese and dairy. And if you make a soup that contains no meat like vegetable or tomato, use vegetable stock to make it not chicken. So many of the various salad options were loaded with mayo ... vegans don't do ANY dairy. I have to say, I was very disappointed in the food. I expected better. I contacted Carnival prior to going and mention I was vegan/vegetarian and they said talk to my waiter. One night in the dining room they made me a special meal, two pieces of broccoli, over cooked asparagus and two hunks of not cooked tofu. It was disgusting. Carnival, you need to dedicate a cook to vegetarians/vegans at meal time. Someone who can make at least one thing completely tasty and healthy. Waterslides - so much fun! Skyride- LOVED it! Summary: for us, cruising is so expensive when you take in account the airfare to get to a port, cost of the cruise, all the gratuities, extras for decent coffee or a drink and then all the expenses when you go off at various ports. I think it is cheaper to go to a resort for 2 weeks then one week on a cruise. I also think that since I have only been on Carnival, I will have to research the other cruise lines to see if they have vegan/vegetarian options that Carnival just does NOT have. If so, my cruising dollar will go to the line that does. I'm not going to neglect my health just because I'm on vacation. Read Less

1) because my brother and his wife have never cruised before. 2) the price 3) where it was going. 4) because my brother and his wife still like to party. Carnival seems more like a party type atmosphere. The staff was wonderful from our room steward Wayan to our dinner stall Dede, Ignatius, and Polett. to the staff in cloud-9. spent the day in New Orleans before embarkation. Embarkation went very smoothly ( great job) our cabin 7203 is classified interior, but has a window. It is interior with a picture(walkway view). It was our highest level yet. and a good choice. they do sell out fast. we enjoyed most of our dinning I was disappointed in the main buffet, but like the other 3 buffet or was it 4? guy burgers was very good, the pasta bella was not a buffet, but a sit down where you place an order and drop it off at the head of serving line and then go sit down and they deliver it piping hot as you ordered. a don't miss if you travel on the Dream. Main dinning room was very good. the chef's table was an outstanding experience. It di cost extra, but we thought it well worth it. the shows in the encore lounge were to mush like Vegas style and loud. we like more Broadway style performances. disembarkation went very smooth also. I have am a slight handicapped passenger. i did not need a wheel chair. I had preregistered on line and the curbside support was great. the first dock people in the terminal were more interested in text on thier cell phones and not helping the passengers. when I asked what time I had to board she said its on my boarding pass. No zone was or number was on the pass that I made on line. I am a gold member and that meant nothring. I had signed up for a 12:30 boarding time and the not attentive two gate agents siad you wil jjust have to wait. when i was charging my phone I can what appeared to the supevisor or the gate area and she said I could have boarded already. We finally started the process of getting onto the ship. That is when all service disappeared. We go to the room after waiting and hour in the buffet area. the buffet line was over an hour wait. there was no assistance offered and I finally gave up and went directly to the salad bar. for a ship with over 3000 guest I would have thought more possible stations then the pasta hamburger and buffet areas would be open. the pizza was also an hour wait and the hambuger and pasta areas were also an hour wait. why the main dining rooms werent open I have no clue. When qwe got to the room. the 3rd wasnt there. We had expected a drop down bed but instead with had a trundle bed with a reaslly crappy mattress. No one was answering the steward line and no one was answering the service line. we finally went to the front desk another 45 min wait. Once I got the desk I was completely rebuffed with the fine print of the contract. if we had been told it was a trundle bed we would not have reserved the extended balcony for three. we would have gotten a standard balcony wiht the drop down ben. I asked for wheel chair assist and waited over 25 min. so my first 4 hours with Carnival were horrible. No food. room number ready and no wheel chair every showed up. when I gave up on the wheel chair another supervisor who was directing the traffic asked if he could help. My legs at that point had giving out and caused me to fall. Again no help from a staff to get up or get a wheel chair. then the continuous annoouncements. We douldnt understand and single word fo the announcements. if the ship needs to do this as load as they are it needs to be fixed. the announcements at 10 am and later should be eliminated and teh training load horns on the cozumel day were horrible. I thinki I load the hearing from laying out on the serenity deck. The food on the ship was about mcdonalds level of tastiness. poor soups, same deserts every night and the meat was 1/2 rate. this was my 11th crusie and 10th with carnival my gold level on this cruise ment nothing except the pin. no captains toast and nothing in docking etc. The service team needs to go to jet blue RCCL or southwest about service. our room steward was decent and no one got an additianal tip. I should have actually reduced all of the tips to $0 dollars. I was with 10 other men and trying to get carnival to get us onto a single table was like asking moses to party the red sea. We ended up with drunk lady that pissed off one of our guest who was celebrating his birthday and we ahd men at 3 other tables. The pizza was only decent. for the wait I would have expected more. It was basic but very greasy. I asked for vinegar for my fries and was told they didnt have any. IN all of my cruises on carnival I looked forward to different appetizer and never turned away a main because the pasta, sauce or meats were great. the sauses were average, the plate was filled with stuff that didnt look or taste good and the desert bar at the buffet was the same stuff each day. I guess the desert chefs have been allowed to serve substandard fare. I will not take the Victory again. I have had a ton better service on teh smaller ships like sendation and facination. and the ship we had in Alaska. I think we will use RCCL and celebrity for future cruises. Read Less

My husband and I booked a quick 4 night cruise without the kids and had a wonderful time on the Carnival Liberty. Embarkation was smooth and the personnel at the terminal were friendly. We were on board within an hour of arriving. Our room was ready when we arrived. Our cabin steward was unobtrusive, but always around if we needed him. We were in cabin 2473. It is in the aft of the ship and was always quiet and peaceful. No one was ever in the hallway near our cabin. We have been on about 12 different Carnival ships and this was one of our favorites. It didn't look like a circus threw up! The colors were muted pastels and everything was actually coordinated nicely. The ship was in good repair and well maintained. Every employee we encountered was polite and seemed genuinely happy to be there. We have never been on a cruise with such a wonderful, happy atmosphere. The food seems to improve every time we cruise with Carnival. They are really stepping up their game. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience on the Liberty. The only complaints we had was the temperature in our room was warm the whole time. If it were summertime it would have been miserable. Also, there was a horrible smell of raw sewage in a couple of the hallways. I mean HORRIBLE smell. I hope it was due to a temporary problem and not a permanent one! Read Less

I traveled a few of the Carnival ships this was just another, or I thought, till I spent a week with her. Great time, great crew. It was an easy embarkation- went from signing in at the check in to the Lido deck for a quick bite. Then to our cabin to unpack. Followed by a quick muster. From there we met with our meet and great group had a few drinks, followed by a return to our cabin to change for dinner at the Golden Restaurant. Then to the Amber Palace theater for a spectacular show, The Welcome Aboard Show which featured the three shows that were to be presented on our cruise. Followed by Ewart at the piano in the Cinn A Bar and a sing along by the rest of us. Then topped the evening off at the casino. We finally got back to the cabin after a wonderful first day, not a sea day yet, tomorrow begins all the fun at sea. More to follow. Read Less

As a former NCL favorite, I decided to give Carnival a try because it was cheap, and the cruise planning was only a few months before the sailing date. The two of us, 21 and 22, were excited to explore the Splendor and have a great time, however what we had hoped for wasn't all that grand. The first night on the cruise, the 13th, we sat by the AFT adult pool and enjoyed a drink and the sun before we set sail. The room was ready right around 1:30 and it was surprisingly spacious considering it was an inside cabin. We met our stewardess, Daniel (who was awesome and so friendly) and were ready to prepare ourselves for dinner as soon as our luggage arrived (around 5PM). We were supposed to leave at 4, but didn't end up leaving until almost 5:30. Now, I have to mention the food first because this is what really caused problems for me. We all know cruises are known for the endless amounts of delicious foods, but might I add this was the worst food I've had on any cruise line. I myself am a vegetarian and was very skeptical about how eating on a cruise ship would go for me, and my skeptical self was right. It was very very difficult and the vegetarian options were not anything special. As soon as we got on the ship, we went for lunch. There is a burrito bar, a grill with typical "grilled" foods, sandwich station, mongolian wok, a bbq section, and then the regular buffet style food. Lunch was really nothing special. Everything was bland, or just very salty with not much effort put into it. For dining, we chose the anytime dining which allows you to eat between 5:45-9:30 which is very convenient. The only downside to this is that if you want to have the same waiter each night, you won't unless you specifically request them (which we ended up doing.) Roby, our waiter, and his team were so friendly and made the dining experience a lot more pleasurable considering the food was not up to my cruise standards. Every night the menu changes, but the same options stay the same (caesar salad, grilled chicken, flat iron steak, a fish, and the Indian vegetarian option). We ordered room service breakfast to the room each morning for convenience to make the most of our day at the port. The bagels were hard, croissants were soggy, fruit was inedible..might I say more? We decided to give the buffet a try and it was still horrendous. The pancakes were rock hard and the waffles were ice cold. At no point during the six day voyage did the fruit taste good. I don't know about you, but I don't like eating hard melon and soggy watermelon. The first elegant night was the second night of the cruise, after our day at Half Moon Cay. In my eyes, elegant night means following the dress code rules, however I still saw guests in shorts, jeans, sneakers, and flip flops. This was upsetting considering my friend and I were dressed head to toe in elegant attire. We had to wait about 40 minutes to be seated this night, so didn't end up eating till close to 8:30. The waiter was so unbelievably rude and the food this night was the worst of all nights. The vegetarian option was some vegetable pie..it came out cold the first and the second time. When I told the waiter, he did not even flinch at this. It was disgusting. Also, the sides are so extremely small they should not be considered sides. The best thing was the bread..but then again how can you go wrong with bread? Dessert was also never good. It never got better, it only got worse. There was no flavor in the desserts and the combinations of ingredients was very odd. I think from all of this you can sense that the food was lacking. It's sad when a 22 year old has to order food off of the kids menu in hopes that it will be better than what's served in the main dining room. Even the breakfast in the main dining room for our Sea Day was terrible. If you are expecting cold salad, think again-they serve it warm! Everything is already pre-made so if you don't like an ingredient, that's too bad for you because you cannot have it removed! Roby, our waiter, was excellent. He always made jokes with us and really helped make the dining experience memorable. Moving onto entertainment- TERRIBLE! I wish the Cruise Director, MarQ, had taken over all of the shows because he really was the star on the Splendor. The first night's show was terrible. The singing and dancing was something you'd see on the first round of American Idol. The shows got better night after night, but it really wasn't what you'd see on an NCL or Royal Caribbean ship. It was a major let down. During the day by the pool, there was never any "Bahamian" music that makes you feel like you're on a boat, and that's what I was expecting. Ken R, the comedian was the most funny comedian I've ever seen! He made the entertainment a whole lot better! Also, they added this Lip Sync competition for the last night of the ship-don't even go to it! It was just terrible and a waste of time. Carnival has really declined and I think spending a little more money to go on another cruise line is totally worth it. The food quality is so unbelievably poor. Even the chocolate buffet (usually held on the last night of the ship around midnight) was horrific. It was served between 12:30-2:30PM and nothing tasted good, because nothing had any taste to it! I'm a big foodie and I was just very disappointed every day by the food-not to mention it made my friend and I feel sick every night. I swear they must put something in the food to make you feel like your body is going to explode. I wish they put the cruise director, MarQ, on another ship because he really is incredible. He makes the Splendor what it is. I have never seen a cruise director so involved with the guests, he was at almost every event participating, singing, and dancing with everyone. He's truly amazing! From a lot of reviews, I read how the ship seemed run down. In a way, I think it's more so outdated. The decor is very early 2000s and is overdue for an upgrade with the furniture. Nothing appeared dirty or tarnished or rusted though. The best area for adults-serenity upstairs on deck 12! That's where we spent most of our time. Also, another benefit was the sailing. The ship was never rocky and at times I forgot we were even moving. All in all, skip out on this one. Maybe a newer Carnival might be better, but the food and entertainment is so so poor that spending the money doesn't even seem worth it! Read Less

Why we booked this trip: I liked the initial itinerary, but I ultimately choose this time due to friends/family members vacations schedules. It was the perfect time for everyone to meet up. We had four different groups meeting up: the Florida group, the Ohio Group, and Massachusetts group and the California group. Due to Tropical Storm DON... the itinerary changed BUT we had a WONDERFUL time with the new stops in Old San Juan and St. Maarten. In fact, it was the best vacation I've ever been on... The crew was amazing. No complaints! We especially loved the special Havana section. We spent countless hours by the private pool playing cards under the tiki hut and in the private pool and spas. The entertainment was great, the food was wonderful, the drinks were strong, and the sun was shinning. I could not have asked for more! I would definitely cruise on the Vista again! We already have another carnival trip planned, so I guess that answers would I cruise Carnival again. Read Less

We just returned from our Alaska Adventure with a group of 8. It was a once in a life time experience. Carnival Legend made the experience an all time high of vacations. This was the least expensive way to go to Alaska with the biggest return of life time memories. I researched all the the choices that left from Seattle and this was the best package. The shore excursions are expensive but worth every penny. This is to be expected in Alaska and so once your do your comparisons, it will absorb into realty. Outstanding service in the Dining Room with Nicoli/Table 217 and his crew. Prompt, professional service with Noel as our main Stewart in room 6234. The young performers were amazing and full of energy. They were a cut above in talent and personality. Each member was gifted in voice and choreography! The Shore Excursions will have me fawning for the rest of my life: Helicopter Ride, Rain Forrest, White Passage Train Ride, Cycling Down a Mountain, Zip Lining, Whale Watching, Glacier Hike, Butchart Gardens, each one of these experiences was as magical as the next. I would like to say that I love Carnival Cruise line and love their ships but this cruise was an all time fail. Had it not been for the wonderful cruise directors, Chris the flying scotsman, and the awesome ports, this would have been one the worse cruises that I have ever taken in my years of cruising. Ship & Public Areas First of all the Carnival Vista is a beautiful ship but really has some major design flaws that caused issues on the ship. The ship had issues regulating temperature inside the ship. You would walk from cold to hot and then even hotter. There was no AC on the elevators. The coolest room in the ship was your cabin. I complained a lot about these temperatures. A lot of people on the ship agreed. The ship needs to work on this bad. The ship felt crowded a lot because of the small venues and scheduling. Even getting off the ship was time consuming. We had to wait in a line 30 minutes to get back on board. This also needs to be fixed by Carnival. Outside the ship, you see the typical small pools and a limited amount of deck chairs. One of the biggest annoyances I saw was having the children's play area next to the serenity deck. This caused a lot of noise on serenity deck unless you were totally to the front of the ship. Having the sports square above the La Cucina and Ji Jis Asian Bistro was awful because of the basketball court and other things being located above them. The bike ride that goes around the ship was okay, but once we saw a chain break on a passenger resulting in carnival closing this, we decided we were not going to do this activity. Public Rooms: This ship's public rooms in my opinion were super small which made the ship feel crowded. The ship's atrium was the main room used for just about everything that was scheduled. This room had a beautiful LCD funnel up the middle that changed colors but that was about it. You could see access to decks 3, 4, 5 from it. My biggest issue with the atrium is that they used it for all of the parties that used to be on the lido deck. Its dance floor was way to small to accommodate dancing of more than 25 people. This in my opinion ruined the wonderful deck parties that I was used to in the past. I inquired about why they used the atrium instead of lido deck, and was told because of the movies under the stars they could not have deck parties anymore. They did have at least one night deck party on Lido deck and it could accommodate many more people and there was much more participation than the atrium parties where you pretty much stood around the railing looking down and tried to participate. I will give thumbs up to Chris the cruise director for making the crowd get involved more in this small atrium. The liquid lounge was the next public room that again felt undersized for a ship this large. This is the main show lounge for all the production shows and bingo. There was very limited seating on the floor in the chairs and booths. The chairs all could be moved. I will talk more about that in the entertainment section. The non-floor seating was horrible in this theater. You could not see over others if you were on the lower level and not on the floor seating. If you went to the balcony, your view was limited by the opaque glass that kept you from seeing much of what was going on stage and on floor. The limelight lounge was beautiful but again to small. This lounge was used for the comedy club and the late night dancing. It was great for the punchliner comedy club but felt claustrophobic for dancing and the air conditioning was not good in there. Ocean plaza was another popular location that was used and probably felt the largest of all the public rooms. Most people that ate at the Taste bar, Coffee Shop and BBQ ate here while enjoying music and playing trivia. The havana club was another semi public area used by most of the ship. By day the pool area was limited to havana cabin members but in the evening it was open to the public. This was probably the quietest area to hang out in the evening with friends until the club band kicks in and gets super loud and hip hopping. Embarkation: Getting on the ship was super smooth. We arrived late after our check-in time but were on the ship in about 20 minutes. They no longer take your picture nor give you your sign and sail card until you get to your cabin. If you have someone traveling under the age of 18, they will take their picture. The only negative I seen on embarkation, is not seeing multiple ships officers and staff greeting us as we boarded. Other cruise lines are there to greet you when you board. Anytime Dining: We had the anytime dining and I can say this was probably the worst experience I had dining on carnival ships. We have used anytime dining on other ships but this ship was different. You have to check in 15 minutes before dining on deck 5 and then take your pager or ticket down to deck 3 to wait to be seated in the Horizons restaurant. The service was mediocre at best. They no longer use table cloths in the restaurants except on formal nights. Servers no longer put a napkin in your lap when you sit down. The server teams you seen in the past is not there much anymore. You would get the head waiter taking order and doing it all or you would see the junior waiter take your order and do everything else. They did not engage you in conversation but instead left you waiting for your meals. Wait times between entrees were super long. I had to go the maitre on two different occasions. By the 4th night, I found a waiter named Slaviska, who engaged me and was on top of his game. He is from Bolivia and would recommend you get him if you are on board. We had him the rest of the cruise until he got sick and another waiter took over for him. This waiter eric started the same behavior as waiters from the first 3 nights. Carnival really needs to work on the anytime dining restaurant instead of treating everyone in there like second class. I will give them on thumbs up though. After talking with the maitre many times, I put in a special request for some indian food and he agreed they would have the next night. Let me tell you they brought out a feast for me which I could never eat by myself. I was sharing with other tables. The food in this dining room was good besides the poor service. I liked you could order a steak every night there. I loved their sides also. Their cranberry rolls were to die for. For dessert, I always defaulted to the chocolate melting cake because most of the other desserts were pretty bland. Other Dining: As always Guys Burger Joint was wonderful. This was my go to lunch time restaurant. The lido deck buffet had a very limited menu unlike in the past on other carnival ships. There is no indian food or ethnic foods on this buffet for lunch or dinner. I will say that the breakfast on Lido was wonderful . We tried La Cucina for lunch and the pasta was not that good. It was very watery and I love a thick sauce on my pasta. We left and went to Guys BBQ. Guys BBQ besides his burger joint was open various times on the cruise and I loved this place. The BBQ was spot on and I could eat the macaroni and cheese every day there. I would actually just go there to get a bowl of Mac n' cheese with the BBQ bread. Yummy!! The only negative I have about Guys Pig and Pork BBQ restaurant is that they need a awning over the serving line to shield you from the rain. I got soaked standing in line there one day and got baked on a sunny day there. Ji Ji Asian restaurant for lunch was also not that good. I heard the dinner was much better. I went there for lunch and found that they changed it to a Mongolian Wok. I tried some rice noodles and the thai BBQ sauce there with various veggies and meats. The food was not good and the service was horrible. I also tried the taste bar and it was just okay as the selection was limited and there are no desserts there. For the best desserts, go the coffee shop next to the Taste bar and Ocean Plaza and get one of their desserts. The prices were super cheap to but a la carte. I love the carrot cake there. We also tried the steakhouse Fahrenheit 555 and found it be as good as always. It did seem the quality of food here has changed but still was good. Entertainment and Activities: As I mentioned earlier in my review, had it not been for the wonderful cruise director Chris, the flying scotsman, the entertainment on the ship would have been really bland. Chris made every event he was a part of wonderful. He was a member of a AC/DC cover band prior to Carnival and this guy could sing. He knew just how to entertain even in the small atrium parties. He could dance too and was overall the best CD we have every had in all of our days of cruising. FYI he was filling in for Malcolm while Malcolm went to another ship to host Lip Sync battle. Chris is on the Carnival Dream regularly so you must go see him. The shows were just okay on this ship. The first show, which was the 70's/disco show was the best. The other shows were just okay with the exception of the CD Chris, the flying scotsman show which had me in tears at the end. Chris could sing rock but when he broke into Opera at the end of his show, my jaw hit the floor in amazement and awe. He made the cruise for us. There were not a lot of enrichment activities on board beyond your typical spa and trivia. The only thing that was really good was the cooking demonstration but it was held in the limelight lounge which made seeing the demo very hard. We did enjoy the hasbro games and trivia in Ocean Plaza though. We were so happy for the IMAX and thrill theater on board. The IMAX was reasonably priced and lower than what we would pay locally. It had about 300 seats and you did not have to watch previews. They were showing new release movies there on board like you would see at regular movie theater. We watched Wonder Woman and the Mummy. The thrill theater was a 4d attraction with about 25 seats but was a good distraction with cheap pricing when there was nothing else to do. The Casino on this ship smelled like smoke really bad and there was not a non smoking section. It was super small for a ship this small and was just okay. Don't expect to win much here. Service: As i noted earlier in the dining room reviews, service on the ship was either poor to average. The crew really showed very little interest in getting to know you or going above and beyond their roles. Ports and Shore Excursions: We did Grand Turk, Dominican Republic, Aruba and Curacao on this itinerary. Grand Turk was boring as usual with a limited amount of things to do. This was our second time there and next time we will stay on board. La Romana, Dominican republic was great. The people there get excited to see the Vista come in. They dance and wave and great everyone. We did an non-carnival excursion with pro excursions doing Dunn buggies and had a ball. We were covered in mud but had the best time ever on an excursion. Aruba was also great. Very americanized. We did the Trikes there and really enjoyed this port too. If you go there try the Trikes tour. They go above and beyond to make sure you have a good time. Curacao was our favorite port. We just picked up a tour outside the ship and had wonderful time seeing this Dutch Island. This island was very clean and the architecture was so colorful. We enjoying shopping here the most and the enjoyed the floating market there. Cabins: The cabins on this ship seemed smaller. Storage was very limited unlike on the Breeze and the Dream. We had a quad cabin and had to be real creative in finding places to store things. Make sure you bring air freshener for the restroom LOL. Overall this cruise was not bad. Most of the issues were with ship and service. I traveled with my partner and 2 boys. We had a great time. We will not do the Vista again but will look forward to seeing what the other new ships have in the future. Read Less
