We chose this because it was kid friendly and last minute time off from work. I picked a suite. Even though it was on the lower level I felt a little better just because we were bringing a two year old with us and he’s a climber. Everyone is very nice on the Vista and the older portions of the craft were being maintained properly it feels like.

Be sure and arrive at your designated time, you don’t want to get in the longer early or late line. If you bring on a small ice chest, no ice or water allowed, bring freezer packs. We chose this particular cruise because it left out of a port we could all access fairly easily by car AND seemed like a good fit for the children and teenagers in our group. This is our first time on Carnival Vista - 11th cruise in total. We have been on several Carnival ships, Holland America, Princess, Norwegian and Celebrity. Our favorite by far was the Celebrity Reflection.
I have to say that Vista is a close second and close tie with Norwegian Bliss.
What I like with Vista are:

We were a family of 7 with 3 children. This ship has soooo much to do for all ages! Kudos to the kids' Ocean Club, the water/sports activities, and the entire staff. Generally, we all loved the experience on being on Carnival's newest ship.

We chose this cruise for our 2nd cruise. After taking a 5 day cruise, we chose this 7 day to see what we missed out on. The port itinerary was also a factor in our choice.
