Carnival Galveston Cruise Reviews

Great meeting this guy, humble and transparent. He just knows what he's doing. As I said,if He is not your cruise activity director, just ask for a refund lol. He's that good.

First Carnival Cruise - Pleasantly Surprised

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Freedom

This was my fourth cruise and my first time on Carnival. I previously have cruised Royal Caribbean and Norwegian but always heard horror stories about Carnival so I avoided it. A friend convinced me to go on one, and it was definitely a good time. Ship: The ship itself is nice enough. I know it recently underwent a dry dock, but could probably use some renovations. Parts of it just felt old and ...

Low Key Cruise

We cruise from Galveston every couple of years because it is easy. Carnival has a good price and we don't care what the itinerary is having been to the places enough times to often not do anything in port. The ship was a nice size, not too big or too small. Embarkation was smooth except that even if you check in early you don't get on the ship before about 12:45 or 1. We checked in at our ...

It's Carnival - you know what to expect.

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Liberty

First embarkment and disembarkation was great! Port Canaveral is a great spot. The cruise was on Carnival. If you expect lectures and a large library on board, boy did someone sell you the goods. The ship is fine. Its clean and functional. Our cabin was clean and kept clean. But no turn down service was there - just the towel animals. The food ranged from fantastic to meh. Highlight was ...

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Breeze

We chose the Breeze because of its newness and itinerary. I've been on many cruises but was interested in seeing Montego Bay. Upon filling out info online......we were asked to choose a time for embarkation. We chose 11:00-11:30, to only be put in line with all other cruisers. Disembarkation was smooth. The Breeze is meticulous, our cabin steward Christine was the best. Our waiters in the ...

Good, but not great

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Breeze

We chose this cruise because of the date and the price We have done the itinerary many times. I am Diamond, so I was in the first group to board. Boarding did not begin that day until 11:45 with a wedding party, followed by 100 travel agents who were there to tour the ship. It was just after noon when the Diamonds were called to board. We went straight to our cabin and put away our carry on ...

Fourth Cruise but First Time on Carnival

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Freedom

Most frustrating was the FOG delay at Galveston. We lost 1.5 sailing days and then were delayed 6 hours disembarking. In these 'modern' times I would have expected the ship and shore to synch up with radar ( perhaps buoys too) and come right in. Silly? I don't know we have Mars rovers we can communicate with, driverless cars, etc. Once on the beautiful Freedom all seemed good. We had a ...

Not sure what all the negative is about... We had a great time on Carnival Valor

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Valor

After reading all of the negative posts about the Valor, I will admit we were a little skeptical about going. However, I have come to realize that cruising is all about what YOU make of it.. and apparently some people just can't be pleased. We had a great time on this cruise and I think Carnival did an excellent job, especially for the price. Embarkation in Galveston was a breeze! We chose the ...

Birthday Cruise - Best Friend's 1st Cruise

This was my first time on a Carnival cruise and I had a wonderful time! Most importantly, my best friend, who was celebrating her birthday and her 1st cruise had a blast! I was very pleased with everything from accomodations to food and entertainment. Loved all our ports, Cozumel, Roatan, and Belize. We were even stuck on the ship an extra day due to heavy fog in the Galveston port on ...

Terrific New Year's Eve Cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Freedom

We choose this cruise for two reasons: New Year's Eve and leaving from Galveston which is a day's drive for us. We have been on only one other Carnival cruise on the Breeze. The Freedom has had the 2.0 update so it is similar to the Breeze in several ways although it is smaller. For public areas, the Freedom seems to have everything concentrated on decks 5 and 9. The adults only Serenity Deck ...

Great ship amenities, service not the same

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Breeze

User Avatar

We chose this ship/itinerary because the dates aligned with winter breaks, was after Christmas, and left from the port closest to our hometown. We have also had good experiences with Carnival Caribbean cruises in the past on the Conquest, Imagination, and Triumph. We found the ship itself to have GREAT AMENITIES and a great VARIETY OF SPACES. We traveled with a group of 14 (staying in multiple ...
