I have cruised Carnival, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean and Princess. Overall, the best bang for the buck is Carnival. The last cruise I took was on Royal's Oasis of the Seas. It was a beautiful ship....but the food was terrible, the crew was not friendly at all, and the food areas were never bussed or cleaned.....there was constantly a pile of used dishes and trays on tables. We chose this cruise to fit our spring break plans. 5 days gave us time to get back home and get ready for the next school week.
We have been on many cruises, including the Magic, The Ecstasy, the Triumph and now the Valor. The Valor is a nice ship for her age, except I'm not excited about all the "heads" everywhere.

We really liked our stateroom (a very dated but not worn, roomy 4J with window and large bathroom and easy access to the "secret deck"--we booked an inside GTY so this was a bonus), our stateroom attendant, Guy’s Burgers, the photo backgrounds and the Serenity Deck. This was a great deal for the cost. Embarkation was very smooth. We had a 1:30 boarding time. Last year we had the same time and had to wait a while before boarding. This time there was no line. Went cruising with six adult family members. Found everything to be just wonderful - service-food-entertainment. Hardly stood in any lines - ate at most of the restaurants - including two for fee spots. Food and service great! Cruise beverage package a must!
Serenity deck is the must go to spot for adults! Lido deck way too loud with too many kids out of control!
