I'll begin by telling you that this was our first cruise ever, and our first vacation without our kids (now 19 and 17) since we were married. We had such a great time that I decided to wait a few weeks to write review to see if i could be more objective. I booked with Carnival about six weeks before the sailing and got a two porthole cabin on the Riviera deck (R26) for $309 each.
We made our own ...
Ecstasy, sailed on 2/19 out of Galveston. Our second cruise, first on Carnival.
Embarkation: My husband walks with a cane, so when we got to the cruise terminal, they directed us up to the short line for handicapped guests. We were quickly on our way, walking up ramp after ramp to board on about the Empress deck; we should have been directed to the elevator! I rated this a 4, for this reason. ...
We were a group of 9 adults for the Feb 1 sailing for a 4 day cruise to Cozumel. We stayed at the Quality Inn and ate at Tortuga for dinner the night before the cruise. The hotel was great and the food and margaritas at Tortuga were awesome. There were only 2 ships in port on the day we sailed. The weather for sailing was misty, cool and overcast; but the ship was comfortable and fabulous. ...
This was our second cruise after being on the Carnival Conquest in November, 2006. There were four of us cruising including one first time cruiser. This was also my birthday cruise.
After our first cruise on the Conquest we were a little concerned about being on the older, smaller Ecstasy. However, our concerns melted away almost immediately. The atrium was beautiful. There were very few areas ...
This was our first time on a cruise. We traveled with a group of six couples. Overall we had a fantastic time and will definitely be going on more cruises in the future.
We opted for "Cruise Air". That was a mistake. Our flight there was about as indirect as you could get. Our first flight left at 11:30 pm on Saturday and we flew all night. The airport transfers were a bit confusing as well. For ...
To be honest, I was extremely skeptical about going on Carnival based on the fact that I had been on three other cruise lines and also comments from other people (even some of the reviews on this site). Had heard bad things about service, drunk college students (and/or Canadians), and especially the food.
I must say, upon arriving at the port, I was pleasantly surprised how quick and easy it was ...
This was our first cruise with Carnival and our third cruise overall (first two on NCL). Embarkation was very smooth. The weather the whole trip was great. At all ports we went to a beach just to relax.
The ship is great and there was never not enough to do or eat. We ate in the main dining room the first night, but ate elsewhere for the rest of the trip. Don't get me wrong, the food and service ...
A Valentines cruise to remember! Sailed feb 11th. This was our first family vacation and honeymoon all rolled into one. Other than a long weekend here and there, 2 nights at a local best western for our honey moon 20 years ago. This was our first week's vacation anywhere. We choose to practice some delayed gratification and boy was it worth it. We are in our late 30's and kids are 12,13 & 18. ...
This was our first cruise and we were going for the event of our daughter's graduation from college in December. Our departure on Conquest was January 21st,2007. My wife and I,( 49 & 48),My Daughter and her longtime boyfriend made the trip. We left from our homeport of Galveston. We drove in the night before, which took us about an hour and a half, and stayed at the Harbour House Hotel on pier ...
24 hrs from Booking to Boarding....
You may have read our review of the Conquest from October of 2006 (http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=22159) - the last line of it was "We'd do it again in a heartbeat....."
As it turned out, I ran in to some unexpected vacation time in the course of a job change. A couple hours after my boss told me it would not be necessary ...
