My wife and I just returned from an 8 day cruise on Carnival's Conquest - a 3,000 passenger ship built in 2002. That was our sixth cruise in 13 years - two other on Carnival (in the 2000's) and three on Norwegian Lines ("NCL") the past three years. We always get a balcony cabin. Here are my comparisons:

We stayed in 1115 - balcony in the front of the ship. WE arrived two days prior to embarkation and stayed at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66. It was wonderful and highly recommend. Will definitely return there.

Curacao and Aruba were the selling points of choosing this cruise. 3 adult couples embarked effortlessly. We only had to wait about an hour and a half arriving way before boarding began due to flight schedule. Crew was friendly and cabin was ready within a few hours of boarding. We had a great time on the Conquest. The embarkation and debarkation were both a breeze, we are platinum on Carnival so we were able to skip the general lines.
