We have just returned from the September 15, 2013 sailing on Carnival Freedom.
The cruise visited the ports of Key West, Grand Cayman, and Ocho Rios.
This cruise was the best cruise we have ever had, for many reasons.
We have visited the ports of call many times in the past so we decided to just stay on the ship at each port and enjoy the peace and quiet onboard the ship.
Embarkation went very ...
I have cruised for 10 + years and based on my experience this was the most disappointing.
Airport arrival - we connected with Carnival reps and were told that the shuttle would be arriving within minutes. We pulled our luggage outside and walked longer than we should have, in the heat. The shuttle they thought was picking us up, was not for us. So we waited a while longer. I think the wait would ...
We had an awesome time!
Cabin: We loved our Lido cabin 9226. It was middle of the hall forward so no where near the elevators or high traffic areas yet only steps away from the action of the Lido deck! We will def do this location again in a heartbeat! Our cabin steward was great! We asked for ice the first day and it was never low after that first day!
Food: Best service we have ever had on a ...
First overall observation upon arrival . . . A lot of visible rust. LED stair lighting missing on multiple steps around pool area. I can assume one of only two things - the Captain does not practice MBWA or the Captain does not care. THERE IS NO OTHER AVAILABLE EXCUSES.
Cabin - extremely clean and presentable.
Nightly show themes - TERRIBLE . . . Mid-week literally featured Motown night #1, ...
Let me start by saying that I am not a first time cruiser, or the complainer who goes on vacation nick picking everything he can for the sake of fulfilling some unknown emotional state in my life. I am not 'that guy', unfortunately on this particular cruise I was. What I am is a 38 year old family man who has been cruising on and off for the last 16 years. During these years there has been allot ...
I would like to say that others have stated the Carnival Freedom is sooo ugly. That is not true. It is the typical style of decor of many other Carnival ships. My family and I thought the ship was attractive.
We had a very nice cruise. However, I have seen over the years that Canival is short changing the customers--cutting corners wherever possible.
For example, the shows are not as elaborate as ...
The Carnival Freedom Experience....
Boarding at Port Everglades was very fast and no stress or waiting at all. Don't believe anybody here who says otherwise. And the terminal is fully air conditioned. Believe me. We arrived there at 1 PM and we were eating at the Lido
Deck buffet by 1:15. Our Verandah Deck room was ready for us immediately, and all our luggage arrived at our room before 5 ...
We drove from Virginia the day before embarkment. We stayed in Orlando as that is our routine. Not too much to say about that as the main part is the cruise. We stayed at the Sheraton Vistana and had a wonderful night before the cruise.
On this cruise, it was myself, DH and our two teen boys. We drove to the port bright and early Sunday morning. We left Orlando around 730 am and arrived at the ...
Embarkation - We drove from Naples, FL to Port Everglades. Dropped our luggage and went to park. Had no problems with parking. For as many cruises that go out of Fort Lauderdale, Carnivals port facilities were not as I would have anticipated. Check in went well and we were on our ship. We are Platinum (our 23rd cruise on Carnival, 27th overall). Because we are Platinum, we went straight to our ...
This was a family cruise for me, my 2 sons (6 and 8) and my parents. We decided that it would be easier to drive from Atlanta to Fort Lauderdale rather than try to take my whole family through the ordeal of flying. Since the cruise left on a Saturday, we decided to leave Atlanta on Thursday to give us plenty of time. The drive took about 11 hours and I didn't dare attempt that all in one day with ...
