Great service, sub par food
"I’m writing this review here because we never got our survey from Carnival, even after asking their Guest Services for it (not good). On a good note, I won $1K on a slot in the casino, so that was fun, and our son partied every night in the nightclub until the wee hours...."Read More

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Freedom

The Cruise was fun. The weather causing excursions to be cancelled was disappointing. We were refunded and understand the weather was not Carnivals fault but seeing in Turks there was just a drizzle we couldn’t understand and never received an explanation for why our excursion was cancelled or why we were just notified when we got to the excursion point leaving no chance to schedule something new. ...

Embarkation went smoothly and overall we had a good time. Muster call has definitely improved since you just check in at your designated station after boarding the ship. We booked an interior room which was actually more spacious than I have experienced on other ships. Our cabin was clean and my only complaint was the lack of electrical outlets as we only had one located in the vanity area and ...

Chose Carnival because our 30 year old son with special needs loves the nightlife. Have done several Carnival cruises because of that, and dozens of cruises on other lines, but first time on Freedom. I’m writing this review here because we never got our survey from Carnival, even after asking their Guest Services for it (not good). Our room, a rear balcony on deck 6, was nice. “I Made” was a ...

My husband and I had booked this cruise last year but due to the boat catching fire, it was canceled and refunded and a free cruise was given to use before May of 2023. We chose to do the freedom. This is our first carnival cruise but not our first cruise. The staff was friendly for the most part but not exceptionally friendly and we did tip in addition to pre paid gratuities. Our room steward, ...

Overall good, but likely wouldn’t go on this ship again.

Way too many cruisers, not enough staff. Dining was ridiculous, drinks and food took forever to get or everything would be brought out at the same time. We usually love our wait staff, but this time just wants great. We were also in 3 different areas throughout our 5 nights so we didn’t keep the same wait staff like carnival usual does. The director was a little boring too, just didn’t seem very ...

This was the 4th carnival cruise since the restart and sadly the most disappointing experience of all 4. I booked this as a last minute 5 day get away knowing the ship was dated and the cruise ports might change because of the growing storm that hit grand turks. Cons/Pros Multiple maintenance issues in cabin: burned out overhead light, door lock inoperable, sewage smell outside door, ...

This was our 5th Carnival cruise and our first time on Freedom. We knew going in what to expect with the ship age and size. No surprises there. First the cabin... Ronald our room steward was great! Our interior room (9215) was clean but dated. The fridge didn't work, as with most rooms, from what I've heard, which was disappointing. I usually bring a collapsible cooler bit didn't this time. I ...

Chose this cruise to participate in the ship meet-up and to enjoy the festivities onboard. Not a huge Carnival fan but took the chance. Kinda of pricey for a Carnival Cruise but we decided to keep our expectations low and in line with what one can reasonably expect from Carnival. There were some positive surprises and a few disappointments. Let's start off on a positive note with what we ...

Hello my fellow cruisers! I have broken up my review into different sections for your reading pleasure. This was my first cruise since COVID started, and I was super excited, yet admittedly nervous for my cruise vacation. Overall, I had a good experience and enjoyed my outing and isolation away from the craziness of the world, although there were some hiccups along the way. *FOOD* The food ...

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Freedom

My wife and I cruise frequently (57 cruises to date) and cruise nearly all major lines, our preference being small ships. Carnival Freedom is not small, but was sailing with limited capacity, so we opted for this as our second Carnival cruise because friends were going. Freedom definitely falls within the "budget cruising" category, and richly deserves it. Here's why: The ship itself is quite ...
