Beware!

Review for Carnival Ecstasy to Mexican Riviera

My husband and I used carnival for our first anniversary. From the very moment we stepped on the ship we were very underwhelmed. The staff was not joyful, the deck 10 buffet food was not good, unflavorful, our room had bunk beds when we paid for a king bed, guest services could care less about our bed situation and were unable to get another room. At dinner at Wind Star, night one, we were seated ...

The Worst Boat Ever; Carnival Ecstasy

I went on a cruise for me, my two sisters, and my dad's birthday and this is how my birthday cruise went. The boat was small, my room had food stuck to the carpet between the beds, the window in my room was so dirty you couldn't see out of it, only one tiny pool and two tiny hot tubs for 2,000 people, the food was bad, the staff was rude, everybody i talked to said it was the worst cruise ...

Not bad but not great- exactly what you pay for

So I took this Spring Break cruise with a group of friends. It was really cheap ($265) for a 4 people cabin with stops in Key West and Cozumel. So the Ecstasy is the 2nd oldest ship in Carnival's fleet- built in 1991. It was overhauled recently but you can tell the Carnival pays more attention to its newer ships. The inside theme makes you feel like your are still in the 90's. The ship itself is ...

We were on Riviera Deck and had two staterooms R97 and R101 .. The ship looks tired and grubby! It's inevitable as this ship is now really showing it's age .. We cruise regularly and have recently cruised with Costa and MSC and we have cruise very succesfully with Carnival before ... Embarkation was faultless and smooth. Our staterooms were both fine and we very very happy with the room service ...

An expensive disappointment

We were so excited to be going on vacation on our first cruise with our 3 yr. old and 6 yr. old. However, as soon as we stepped on the ship we noticed the foul, musty smell and also noticed how ugly the carpet and interior was. Kind of surprising. But it was ok, there was lots of fun to be had. Who cares, we'll get used to the smell and just won't worry about the ugly interior. So we get to our ...

we expected this to really suck as we heard this boat was a mess and full of craziness. we we surprised.the boat and rooms were in good shape and we had a really fun time with the kids. we thought since a "smaller" ship that we would be missing a lot of the amenities but everything was there despite being slightly smaller (other than huge mini golf course).PROs: water slides were great (and plenty ...

Wow! I don't even know where to start. The smoking was horrible. No one followed the smoking rules and they were never enforced either. Everywhere you went you felt like you were in an ash tray. Our stateroom was nice. We had an interior room and the size was not bad. The door was hard to close but we got a phone call from guest services asking if it was fixed (our stateroom cleaner must have ...

This was our first Carnival cruise and we sailed with a 6 y.o. and an 8 y.o. The kids loved Camp Carnival and at one time refused to be picked up. The counselors there did a very good job. Our cabin was lovely, the balcony was a winner -- beautiful view every day, not too windy. The bathroom had a stale urine smell that I could not get rid of. They cleaned the room very well twice a day, but I ...

Parking ~ Parked at the lighthouse parking area for $40.00. Included storage of the car and transportation to and from the ship. Service was friendly and efficient. Embarkation ~ Overall the process went smooth, took about an hour to get through all the checkpoints. Word to the wise don't take any photos till your on the boat, you will get an ear full. Room ~ I expected it to be smaller but it ...

Ecstasy Exceeds Expectations!

My wife and I embarked on our second Carnival cruise and fourth cruise together overall, the other two being on Royal. To be honest, we went in with low expectations for this cruise mainly due to horror stories we have heard about debarking from Galveston but also due to our previous experience with Carnival which had been somewhat underwhelming. We really enjoy newer boats with the new bells and ...
