We have cruise several Royal Caribbean ships, and were looking for a change so thought we'd try the newest Carnival ship, the Horizon. She is a beautiful ship with all sorts of great options for fun. From their thermal spa to the Skybikes and Skycourse we tried it all. We chose a spa balcony room on deck 11, which was a perfect location for us since we used the spa, the running track and pool areas often. The buffet did not have as many choices as we're used to, but there were a large number of free food choices available for breakfast and lunch around the pool deck also. My favorite was the Blue Iguana breakfast burritos. The pizza was great too! The staff was great, the comedians were hysterical, shows were a bit artsy for me but were ok, and the cruise Director Schwartz was amazing! His energy was infectious! Only thing I didn't love was the casino smelled terrible, like stale cigars or something. And since deck 3 didn't go through we usually had to walk through casino to get to dining room. Read Less

We took this cruise with 5 other couples and we all had a great time. Early and late seating was full when we booked and we were afraid that we wouldn't get to sit together at Anytime Seating but we were able to get a table for 12 and we were able to keep that table each night at the same time. That worked out well. We all thought the food was great--don't know how anybody can complain about the food with all the choices that are available. We were impressed with all the various seating areas you could eat at the Market Place Buffet on the Horizon. We never had a problem finding a seat even at peak eating times. The 2 aroma steam rooms in the thermal suite were great. Most of the steam rooms in most of the ships we have been on are not hot enough but these were nice and hot like they should be. The comedians were very good. The juggler that we have seen before was very good. The dancing shows in the Liquid Lounge were quite an extravaganza but we are sort of getting tired of the dancing and singing at the top of their voice (it sometimes just seems like a lot of yelling that you can't understand). Embarkation and debarkation were a breeze--the best we have experienced in the 19 cruises we have taken. The water slide and sky ride were exciting. We were surprised at how many ships were at each port. 7 ships were at St Martin and 3 of those were the individual cruise companies largest ships. However, the port seemed to absorb the 24,000 people pretty well. Seems like most of the ships leave and return on the week end and not sure why they do that. Would like to see some of them leave in the middle of the week and maybe that would alleviate some congestion at the airport, motels, and ports. Read Less

My sister actually chose this cruise. I was very impressed with the crew. Whatever you do to make your crew pleasant and helpful please keep it up. I was very impressed with the bar tenders as the Red Frog. Komang, was a great bar tender very nice with a super sense of humor. Keep up the good work! The food was fabulous both at the buffet and at the restaurant. Guy burgers were absolutely addictive. The room Stuart’s were great. The whole ship was kept clean at all times. The entertainment was awesome. The cruise director Matt had such great energy that is infectious. He kept me laughing the whole week. The shows I saw were well done and very professional. This was my first cruise and if/when I do this again I will be sure to make it on carnival conquest. Thank you all for such a great time Read Less

Carnival got it right again. We cruised this ship for our 25th anniversary which is when we started cruising again thanks to the wonderful time we had. This trip was even better. The service was outstanding. Only had one complaint and they handled it immediately and fairly as well. We had a small problem on an excursion and they took care of it and gave us a 25% discount. This was very fair. Everyone went above and beyond to be sure we had a great trip. Our cabin steward Gusti was amazing. He knew us before we even got to our room. Marko in the Renoir dining room was terrific. The food was great as always. We had faster to the fun, but probably did not need it except for getting to enter our cabin early. We got to the ship about 11:00 and walked right on. Easiest boarding I can remember. Leaving went smoothly as well. We did 4 Carnival excursions and except for one small problem that they took care of they were all very good. CD Matt was very good, but nobody can replace Chris Willams for me. He is the absolute best. Russ the comic was the best. He proves you can do an over 18 show without a lot of foul language and be funny. His PG show as also the best I have seen. I was lucky and had 2 upgrade offers and took both of them and had a great 10th floor balcony room, so now I am spoiled. Great location on the ship. Overall this was a great cruise and I can't wait for the next one. Read Less

A little noise from folks dragging chairs but not a deal breaker. Steak House was fabulous as always. Italian restaurant nice ambiance way too much food for me. We could have split an entree and been full. didn't use the dining room at all as the menu was not appealing to us at all and we are not picky eaters. No vairety. Staff was great. olivia from fun squad an absolute hoot. We had so much fun with her and Adriann. would sail on Magic again. Not overly fond of the Miami port but not a deal breaker. All the staff was friendly from buffet to bartenders to cleaning staff. The girls at coffee bar were the hardest workers I have seen. The first show (Western) left me flat but the second Rock one was terrific. Read Less

We have cruised the Breeze 3 times before; Mediterranean, TransAtlantic and Carribean. One of our top 5 ships. My top tip, study the ship to get around easily and join the programs and activities suited to yourself. We're hitting about 50 cruises on many different cruise lines. It really helps us. Some ships have a scavenger hunt first day which you get a stamp at each location on the ship and you are entered for a prize. You win because your vacation will so much better knowing the ship. My point, go find all the places you know you want to go but cover some more. The Breeze had talented singers and dancers are well rehearsed and put on some great shows in Theater and common areas. The Local Flavor Excursion in Dominican Republic covered a lot of ground in 5+ hours and well worth the $60. We had slow service the last evening in Dining Room -- we did not pay attention to our time that day. (We know better.) Go early or go late, but avoid rush hour on any ship. At the moment, we have plans at the moment for other Carnival ships and Princess ships. If the Breeze's itinerary and times fit our schecule in the future. We would enjoy the Breeze's Cloud 9 Spa again. Read Less

We went on this cruise to celebrate a few events (our 10th anniversary, Mom's 60th birthday, Dad's birthday, and my wife's 50th birthday). We had a great time and would definitely go again. My wife and I went to Ron Jon Surf Shop the night before departure. I would suggest anyone go here. We stayed at the Hampton Inn Cocoa Beach, and we also parked here. The shuttle to the port was easy and very timely. Embarkation was quick and easy. We got to the port. Got in line for like 2 minutes. Moved through the various checkpoints, and we were on the ship within 10 minutes from arrival. Disembarkation was somewhat slow, but this was due to federal employee issues. The ship is nice. All areas were kept very clean. My only complaint is there was no pool on the serenity deck. Out cabin, Ocean Suite 7274, was nice and roomy. My wife loved the balcony and the jacuzzi tub. The color scheme in the room was not to my liking, but oh well. Our dining room experience was pleasant. Our server was Mantara, and he did a wonderful job. We loved the shows. Very awesome. The Cruise Director was Chris "Donkey" Salazar. He is a fun guy. He made the cruise very enjoyable. We didn't care much for Amber Cove, but the rest of the ports were very enjoyable. We went on a whale watching excursion in Grand Turk. We saw whales and had a blast. I would suggest this to anyone. Read Less

The itinerary is our main reason for booking this cruise. There were ports we wanted to see. The ship was clean, the crew was amazing, very helpful with all our needs and was very informative. We did the Behind the Scenes tour and it was an amazing experience getting to see everything that goes on behind all of our fun. Meeting the captain was a plus! He was a very kind gentlemen and was very informative with all our questions. Our stateroom was clean and cozy and our steward was EXCELLENT! The only one thing I will say negative is I think the ship needs crew to remind people to sanitize their hands in the lido. They do have sanitizing stations but a lot of people did not use them. I know on other cruise lines staff will greet you into dining and remind you to sanitize. That is the only negative thing I can find. Our cruise director Donkey was great and kept the ship with lots of fun things to do. Will certainly go on the Breeze again! Read Less

This was our first time with carnival but our 15th cruise. We thought we would give them a try and liked the look of the Horizon. We were so glad we did. We absolutely loved it! We thought carnival were excellent and the ship was modern and so beautiful. EMBARKATION was so easy, we arrived at our allocated time and we were on the ship in 10 minutes. We choose an inside CABIN as so cheap and it was surprisingly large, very very clean and had everything we needed. The ship was beautiful, we loved the Atruim, the decor, the modern art, all of it really ! The FOOD was wonderful. Ate in the dining room, buffet, Ji Jis, Mongolian Wok, Pasta Bar, Guys burgers, the Burrito place, Pizza and the smokehouse. All of it was excellent. Jij Jis was our favourite and a must do. ENTERTAINMENT was very good and there was always something to do. Watched 4 shows and SoulBound and Celestrial Strings were very very good. The cruise director Mike was excellent too. Could never get in to see the comedian as the queue was always massive. Enjoyed watched the piano player Jeffery Munks and some of the others, they were all good. The sky ride was scary, the thrill theatre good (preferred level 2 than 3) and loved watching aqua man on the IMAX. As new to carnival, a few things carnival do very well over other cruise lines - Disembarkation - they keep it simple, express check out or early or late. Easy and effective. Loved that the entertainment schedule is published in advance so you can plan your week. The many different fab food options which meant areas like the buffet were mainly quiet. The app you use on board was very effective. We could be enjoying a drink then go on the app, request a dinner table and ten minutes later they would let us know through the app , that our table was ready, so easy. There was only one thing that i didn’t like about carnival and that was the lack of hand washing. No one ensured people washed their hands at the buffet and we watched most people not bother. Not good. But apart from that, we had a blast and loved carnival and the horizon Read Less

Everyone was wonderfully friendly. As a first-time cruiser I really didn't know what to expect and was open to anything. We were a party of 5, (mom, dad, 2 kids ages 7 and almost 3 and Nana in tow). All first-timers! The food was very good and plentiful with many choices. For breakfast Lido marketplace was the place to be; omelettes, Eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs, ham, sausage, bacon. Anything you could think of - cereals, fruit, danishes it was all there, and I sure do miss it!! Their midnight buffet had three selections, my favorite being the grilled ham and cheese sandwiches . They were awesome for late-night munching. If you're looking for BBQ the Pig and Anchor is YUMMY, go on "at sea" day for lunch at no cost. One thing, the beverage pack doesn't seem cost effective and if you're a Pepsi person you might do better bringing your own. So much entertainment and found many things of interest but always seemed to gravitate towards Lido deck aft to meet new friends, chat and laugh. Very kid friendly- waterworks, build a bear and Camp Ocean was great for them while we adults took a little time for ourselves. Shore excursions we booked lived up to expectations except one. My Sea Trek excursion was cancelled last sec, literally, because of compressor malfunction. But better still on dry land instead of underwater at the time. This is the only reason I gave 3 stars for excursions. Was offered any remaining excursions for 35% off which was appreciated but sadly I panic trying to snorkel. Overall the GREATEST vacation I've ever had!! Bucket list- Cruise Caribbean check! Read Less

!6th cruise, first time on the Conquest. The date, itinerary and recommendation from friends were the reasons f we chose this ship. This was the first time we sailed from Fort Lauderdale and even without Platinum status (yet!) or FTTF, it was by far the easiest boarding and debarkation experience so far. Although an older vessel, it was clean and easy to find our way around. I wish there were better ways to circumnavigate the casino without having to go up or down to another deck and then back to avoid the smoke. As a reformed smoker the stench is very repulsive to me. The food didn't seem quite as good or as previously experienced on other ships and the serving temperature left a bit to be desired. Staff was great, Mat Sequin was our Cruise Director and was quite entertaining and engaging. We stayed at the Rodeway Inn and Suites in Ft. Lauderdale and for the price, amebnities and shuttle service, would suggest it as a possible overnight accommodation for your cruise. Read Less

We loved this cruise that went to St. Kitts, St. Maartin, San Juan and Grand Turk! The CD, Mat was a hoot. He had more energy than an energizer bunny. He was so entertaining and related to everyone, young and old. We enjoyed the food - we did YTD. I will say some of the tables were just a little close (they actually had to pull the table out for my husband to be able to sit there. Even the Lido buffet food had excellent choices and were prepared well for a buffet. The entertainment was excellent especially in the atrium each evening. We enjoyed listening to Joanne in the piano bar - she has a wonderful sense of humor and can tickle the ivories like no other. Her voice isn't bad either!! Our cabin steward, Dmyetro, was very pleasant and efficient and made the best towel animals. I did not enjoy having to pass through the smoke infused casino - it would be helpful to glass enclose a smoking area in the casino so that non-smokers could pass through or play without inhaling other peoples smoke. We took one shore excursion and had a great time. Our driver was very knowledgeable about the island and handled the variety of personalities on the tour with professionalism. We chose to take our own luggage when we disembarked and found it to be very easy to do. Very organized and well run! We plan to book another cruise soon! Read Less

We wanted to go to Grand Turk so we picked the Conquest and we did it back to back so we went to Grand Turk twice. We love live bands and love to dance. The Smooth Operators band was the best band we have experienced in 20 cruises. Randi Andi the Comedy manager also was awesome and the 8 singers/dancers put on a fabulous show of rock music. I literally have no complaints about anything. Service in main dining and food excellent, cruise director Matt was exceptional. Spa was just right, ship size was just right right service was great, inside room was just right for us. We moved from Serenity deck to the kids pool to the adult pool and they were all nice. Carnival also was great getting on board and transferring from the 8 day to the next 6 day we did not have to leave our room. The staff made everything very smooth. We liked the shows so much we saw the Epic Rock and 80s show twice. Amber Cove was a great port it had a free pool with bar like Margaritaville in Grand Turk so we don't even want excursions. We did go on an excursion to the Batik, and fort on St Kitts which was fine. Read Less

It was my first cruise in over 10 years, and the first ever for my husband and parents. We all loved it and can’t wait to go back. Cousin Cookie was an excellent cruise director and the entire ship staff went above and beyond. We felt like royalty. She isn’t one of the newer ships, but still has plenty of fun to offer everyone. My only negative, all be it small, was that the talent of the stage show singers wasn’t as good as I remember, but that could just be the casts we saw. Also, the breakfast buffet was the same thing every day, a bit of variety in that arena would have been nice. With that said, I’m not much of a breakfast person in general, so my opinion may be skewed. They did manage to get the playoff football games streamed to the deck as well so the football fans ever in Heaven. Read Less

St. Thomas and Amber Cove were our favourite ports but we enjoyed San Juan and Grand Turk were good as well. Cabin was good and didn’t hear the galley above us hardly at all. We were on deck 2 and the noise wasn’t bad in the hall at all. My 12 year old daughter joined the kids club for a lot of activities and Terry who ran it was wonderful with the kids. The Glory is moving to New Orleans or we would love to sail on her again. It was the perfect size. I’m not into those massive ships so I found the Glory just right! We had twenty people (14 adults/6 children) on this cruise for a family getaway and a grandaughter's birthday. The trip was arranged by my daughter; and let me explain that I had not been a big fan of cruises but love my daughter. The entire cruise was great; from the comedy shows, to the musical entertainment, to the bars, Guy's Burgers, Rum Bar, Lobby Bar, Bar BQ, shore excursions and our ship cabin. Three things made this an exceptional cruise: 1) Chef Chang and Staff (I apologize for not remebering the staff names). We signed up for the Chef's Dinner (additional charge but was the best money we spent). All twenty of us were the guests of Chef Chang and her staff. Normally this is only provided to a maximum of fourteen people but they agreed to accomodate our group of twenty. The tour of the galley was very interesting with incredible organization. The twenty of us had a private dining room for the entire evening (approximately three hours) for incredible appetizers and many excellent food courses (ranging from Sea Bass to Wagyu Beef). Chef Chang and her staff were totally focused on our needs, with the younger children who were not as adventurous with food, they provided chicken fingers, macaroni and cheese andf french fries. The entire group continued to talk about this experience for the entire cruise; the younger kids requesting to see Chef Chang later during the cruise (three times) and she responded every time to come see us during our dining time. Chef Chang and staff truly understand meeting client needs. We are thankful to this entire group. 2) Adam and I Nyomen our service staff in the Platinum Dining room-early table 609. This is where we ate the majority of our meals and these individuals did an exceptinal job. Regardless of what was requested (crazy or not), and we requested some crazy things, they always met our requests with a smile and great service. These two individuals made our dining experience very memorable from the food ordered to the dancing in which our grandchildren participated. 3) Gemma and Mae, our cabin attendants. Gemma always greeted us pleasantly every day and kept our cabin with everything we requested. From ice, towels, soap and questons about the ship she accomodated all our needs. She and Mae made up incredible towel animals each morning and also surprised us one evening with what I thought was a man on our bed (Just Gemma and crew working with bath towels). While all aspects of our cruise were great; these are the individuals on the cruise that insured our experience was exceptional and memorable. Many thanks! Read Less

This was our second time on the Glory. While she is one of their older ships but we still love her charm. The crew was amazing as before. The food was great. Our cruise director Cookie was a blast. He did a great job interacting with the passengers and genuinely enjoyed hanging out with us and welcoming with questions we may would have had. We had a nice conversation with him and it felt like we were hanging out with a friend. We got a couples massage in the spa that was great. I attended a ladies pampering seminar where we were given a fantastic deal that was extended to my husband and well. The only thing we were disappointed in were the shows. We were on her a year before and they were the same exact shows. The group of folks that performed last year we're so talented. This year not so much. Our meals in the main dining room were very good. The only complaint I have there is that I was only able to get the Creme brulee once and they didn't have escargot this time on the menu. We highly recommend the behind the scenes tour. It was well worth the money and suggest booking it as soon as the excursions desk opens when you embark because it is limited to 16 people and sells out fast. Embarking and disembarking was a breeze. Me and my family hasnt gone on a cruise for over 7 years. Last cruise my only child, she was 3, and now with 2 more kids, and my once was only child being 11, we all decided to do a magical cruise! And let me tell you right now, it sure was magical! When we first got on the ship, the staff was SO nice and greeted us. We didnt get our luggage until 2 or 3 hours after we got on the ship. We went to go sign our children up for Camp Carnival, the staff was amazing there too(Alice and others)! My oldest started throwing a fit because she didnt want to go, turns out by the end she was sobbing because she didnt want to leave! The ship was clean, and the outdoor activities were very fun and kept us all busy! The pools were both saltwater, which was unexpected and a little dissapointing... The cabin we got was Deck 1 room 1390. It had a large window with an amazing view. I reccomend this cabin for a family of 4 or 5, its safe and larger than expected. It has 2 bunk beds, a couch/bed, a master bed, 2 bathrooms, and a LARGE closet. Not only that it has a vanity with drawers and a giant mirror with lights around it. The early dining at 6pm at the Northern Lights dining at Deck 4 had food that is popular from the port, the food is called PORT OF CALL. Everynight, they have an option of a cooked animal. I tried RABBIT, ALLIGATOR, and ESCARGO (snails that taste like mushrooms, very good). My favorite was the alligator and escargo, the rabbit I personaly did not like, but others loved it. The entertainment is beyond amazing! The services are also good too, you can get a thing called BUBBLING BOTTLES or something like that for arouond $7 a night for free drinks whenever you want. The ports are gorgous. Moms that are picture addicted, bring your camera's because this is a ONLY TIME OPPERTUNITY PICTURE TIME! I hope this helped you! Read Less

El husbando and I celebrated our 25th anniversary by booking this cruise. This was our sixth Carnival cruise (we've sailed on the Glory, Legend and Valor) and we chose an aft, extended balcony cabin (7462) after doing a lot of research on this site. Overall, it was a fantastic trip and we both enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. This will be a long review, so the short version is that we especially liked the Ocean Plaza Deck 5 because there were lots of activities, you can get across the whole ship on that floor, and you can also walk around the whole outside of the ship. The service was good, though we've had better on the other trips, and the food was consistently good (don't miss the s'mores dessert in the dining room!). This was the third time we've done this schedule (I'm from Puerto Rico, so try to book cruises that include a stop in San Juan). Now for the more-detailed review for those of you who like to do tons of research. Embarkation was a breeze. We arrived a little after 11 for an 11:30 a.m. appointment. We handed off our bags and were greeted warmly by port staff; Carnival staff gave us a card with a zone for getting on the ship. We quickly made our way inside after the usual security and passport checks (we had printed off all of the paperwork from the Carnival site, so that helped). There are two large screens on the walls showing which zones are being boarded. We were in the waiting area no more than 15 minutes when our zone was called, and were on the ship within 10 minutes (we had to wait for people in front of us to get their pictures taken, etc.). Once on the ship, we took the elevators to the Lido deck and got our first Guy's burgers. We were able to get some chairs right by the Beach Pool, and got a couple of drinks. We ate and chatted with new friends until about 2, when we meandered to our cabin. Because they now leave your sign and sail cards outside your cabin, we used our boarding pass (that we printed at home) to charge the drinks to our cabin. We also downloaded the Carnival Hub app and used it a TON on this trip. We paid for the messaging feature, but never used it because it was just the two of us; I can see how it could be super helpful if our kids had been with us. I also got the social media package and felt it was worth every penny because I could keep in touch with our kids back home through the Messenger feature. The cabin itself is very similar to every other balcony cabin we've been in. The balcony was indeed larger than a regular balcony and featured a full-size sun recliner, two chairs and a small table. I should note that we got a lot of shade on that balcony, even though there's nothing above you, except for during the afternoon after lunch. That changed, of course, once we started heading back north (and west) when we got a lot more sun. We had ordered both bottled water and some hard ciders delivered to our cabin. The fridge was empty when we arrived, so we loaded it up. Our room steward was fine. The cabin was kept clean, but he missed a few very minor things like providing additional bars of soap even when there was almost none left. His towel animals were on point! He frequently did one after his morning AND evening cleanings. He was also friendly and warm. First day at sea was uneventful. I run, so I spent some time on the outdoor track (runners can get more details here: http://lachicaruns.com/?p=3584). Dinner was good every night. Our servers were friendly, the food was good, but the service was super slow. It didn't bother us. We still made the comedians and music shows we wanted to see. We couldn't dock at Grand Turk because it was too windy. We were sad to miss this beloved spot, but completely understood it was a safety issue. Carnival automatically refunded the cost of our excursion, and we thoroughly enjoyed another day at sea. We sat in our balcony, reading and enjoying the soothing sound of the wake. Because we missed Grand Turk, we were in San Juan from (I think!) 7:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. This was a bonus for us because we got to see family. We spent the day visiting El Morro, had lunch at El Patio de Sam (excellent food and service, albeit slow), saw the umbrella art installation on Calle La Fortaleza, and had dessert at a new-to-us restaurant Flor de Trigo by the pigeon park. Their flan was homemade and delicious. Next couple of days were spent at St. Thomas and Amber Cove. We have been at both several times so didn't spend a ton of time in port. We shopped a bit and headed back to enjoy our balcony again. Dinner service improved (we loved Lusca in particular) at about day three. Some especially good dishes included all of the shrimp, the sea bass, the dishes inspired by the islands we visited, and the aforementioned s'mores dessert and the baked Alaska. Our anniversary was on Dec. 31 and we didn't know what to expect. There was no acknowledgment at dinner, which surprised us, but they seemed especially busy. There were hats and noisemakers on the tables, so don't worry about bringing your own. There were two gift cards in the cabin when we got back from dinner. One was for a $100 discount for jewelry that we couldn't afford and the other was for $100 toward photos that we never scheduled. Even just a happy anniversary would have been welcome and appreciated, but the cards were a nice touch. We did get a tiny (and yummy!) chocolate cake a couple of days later, which was very thoughtful. I did laundry early afternoon one day. The room was very clean and I was able to use two washers and dryers, no problem, but there were several people who came a little later and things got a bit backed up. Y'all probably know that you can charge the washers and dryers on your sign and sail card; each load was $3 (so $6 per load). I brought a few Tide pods, which worked out great. The washers took about 40 minutes; and the dryers about 50-55. The iron worked just fine. I went to guest services and shore excursions just once. Crew members at both were helpful and I didn't have to wait very long at all. Several areas on the ship were decorated for the holidays and there was a festive atmosphere. The New Year's Eve party on Lido was amazing. The place was PACKED and loud, but orderly. The countdown was super fun and the crew served complimentary champagne. It was a nice capstone to our anniversary. We never made it to the Showtime Theater, except for the "mandatory" meeting on the last sea day where they talked about debarkation. I could have just read the paperwork they left in our room, but I went just in case. There was nothing new that I didn't already know. I mentioned the comedians. We saw four and loved all of them. We were disappointed that one of them repeated the same routine for all of his scheduled performances, so we didn't go to the comedy club as often as we typically do. No big deal. I had read that you had to get tickets before each show, but we never did. The music talent was also pretty good. We especially enjoyed the Latin music (we celebrated our anniversary listening to salsa and merengue!) and a guitar/singer duo Kaleidoscope. Because this was a larger ship than the others we've been on, we noticed that there were more options for music/drinking/dancing. We went to the piano bar a couple of times, but we didn't really enjoy it as much as we have in previous cruises. I genuinely think that James Quigley ruined all piano bars for us because he was so awesome, that I still follow him on Facebook. He was amazing. I should mention that we had one of the best bar tenders on the whole trip at the piano bar. I can't recall her name but she's from Bulgaria and she was awesome. Again, we loved the Ocean Plaza and spent more time there, grabbing a drink and listening to the performers. We particularly enjoyed walking around the entire deck 5 at night. There is a spot where it was completely dark, so we spent a little bit of time stargazing. That was pretty sweet. We passed by the Barbecue place outside Ocean Plaza on Deck 5, but never tried it. It sure smelled good, though! We also noticed on our last day that there was a decent salad bar inside Ocean Plaza that I wish I had known about earlier. As for the pools, they were always very full, but they were also bigger than the pools in the other ships we've sailed on. I spent some time on deck 11 (I think!) in the pool. I liked that there was a very, very shallow area where I could sit and read. I've seen a lot of complaints about smoke smell on this ship. Yup, you will smell smoke more than on other ships. The casino smells horrible, but you can avoid it for the most part, or walk really fast. There are also several spots (at least three that I saw) outdoors for smokers, including one right under the running track, which was kind of annoying, but not enough to be bothersome. As for drinks, we don't drink much. Our entire bill for the trip was about $200, which included some drinks and a handful of toiletry purchases. El husbando especially enjoyed the frozen Margaritas; I had a pina colada, which was OK, but not great. Still very refreshing and the amount of rum was good, too. On debarkation day, we left our room at 8:30 and hung out at Ocean Plaza until they practically kicked us out at 10:30. We only brought carry on (and we still brought too much stuff!!!), so we walked out to the Carnival charter bus, which took us to Miami. The bus was clean and the driver was friendly and helpful. He had our bags outside when we got to our terminal and we didn't have any issues at all. In the end, this trip confirmed why we enjoy sailing with Carnival. There were no surprises and we felt like we got good value. I would definitely book the Magic again. Read Less

We sailed on the Sunshine in June 2018 and we enjoyed the ship so much, that when we returned home we booked a New Year's Eve cruise on her. Even chose the same cabin. I don't want to be redundant, so I won't repeat everything from my review of our June cruise, but I do want to let everyone who hasn't sailed on the Sunshine know that the negative reviews I have read are way off the mark. The ship is clean and the crew is wonderful. Always cheerful and helpful. This cruise was just my wife and me, no kids, and we had an absolute blast. We have our own way of cruising, so maybe our opinion doesn't apply to everyone. First, we rarely visit the main dining room...ever. It just takes too long for us, no matter the food or service. We did enjoy the steak house very much. We went on the first night for the free bottle of wine. We highly recommend JiJi's Asian Kitchen. Outstanding food. Also Bonsai Sushi. Guy's burgers of course, and the pizza was great. The lines moved along, no long wait. Buffet was very good when we tried it. Not everything is perfect, never is, but when I read reviews that say "it's always cold" or "it's inedible" I just have to laugh. Simply isn't true. The Alchemy bar is our favorite bar, great bartenders. The Havana Bar too. Helpful hint: You can order great coffee drinks here and avoid the lines at Java Blue. New Year's Eve at sea was so cool, definite bucket list. Kissing my baby at midnight while the ship blows its horn was unforgetable. Then dancing on the Lido deck with 3000 of my best friends. Awesome experience! Missing Amber Cove on January 1st due to high winds was a bit of a let down, but I never heard anyone complain, or saw any fighting over deck chairs (we were poolside when the announcement was made about Amber Cove). It is what it is, don't let it ruin your day. We decided to take a nap (a little hungover). We didn't go on this cruise for the ports anyway. Grand Turk is always fun. Walked the beach to Jack's Shack for a few drinks and a swim. Then back up to the Whales Tale for one more cocktail. (maybe two) Finally, a shout out to Mikey, one of the best CDs on any ship, anywhere. Always a pleasure. Also to Agus, our room steward, and Parviz at the Alchemy Bar. Thanks guys, you all helped make our vacation fun and relaxing. And to all the nitpicky, negative Nells out there....um, never mind, why bother. Read Less

There were eight friends on this cruise. Five of us flew in a day before the cruise. We stayed at the Cocoa Beach Suites. The hotel was in a great location. It would be a great hotel if they did some furniture cleaning and sprucing up the place. We took the shuttle from the hotel for six dollars per person paid to the hotel. We were met by the porters who put tags on our luggage. There was also a woman who printed boarding passes for those who did not have them. We got to the port around 12 noon. This was the first time on the Breeze and all we can say is embarkation was simple. You were given a number after you gave your passport or other identification, you sat in a section until you were called and away you went. We did walk up a long gangway to the lobby, third floor. Up to the Lido deck and the party was on. The food was better in the buffet than in the dining room the first couple of days. It did get better especially the second dress up night. Carnival has really cut back on staff and the quality of the food. But I still give the cruise high marks because of the fun we had. The entertainment was excellent. I went to the Motown show, the movie show and the lip sync show. Donkey, the cruise director was hilarious. We all had inside cabins on the second floor except one couple who had an outside cabin on the first level. We liked our location and they liked theirs. We enjoyed all of our ports especially St. Thomas and San Juan, mainly because you walked off the ship and there was so much around within walking distance. Our group split up based on each one's likes. Some shopped, some went on tours, I zipped line in Amber Cove, which was my favorite activity. The New Year's Eve party on the Lido deck was so much fun. They had beach balls all over the place. They gave out lighted wanes, necklaces, hats, horns and I can't forget the champagne. Our group found a place to sit and they planted. I walked to the upper decks to take pictures and hit the beach balls. Overall it was a great cruise. Read Less

Hello We cruised on the Breeze due to port location and ports of call. We cruised out of Canaveral and we stopped at Amber Cove, St. Thomas USVI, San Juan PR, and Grand Turk. We were a party of 4. Two Adults two kids (15, and 12). My kids prefer to do things on their own so they did not go to either kid's club. We had your time dining which we really liked. We had amazing service. You could ask for the same area each night if you wanted. We didn't care because each night the service team was excellent. We ate at the lido, Guy's, Pig and Anchor, Cantina, Pizza and enjoyed all of them. You were never without choice. I prefer a plainer, less spicy option and my husband loves the opposite. We were both very happy with all of the choices. My 15-year-old was in heaven! A growing boy with endless food! We saw one comedy and the Flick show. Both were good. We liked the Dive-In movie on deck. A lot of fun. My 12-year-old and husband did one thrill theatre. It was a bit scary for her but he loved it. We also enjoyed the Red Frog Pub to get our sports fix! The staff and crew are excellent. They really do go above and beyond to make it a memorable holiday. I did hear other guest complaining and I really didn't get it. People will sometimes complain about anything! We had a balcony cabin. Loved the space on the balcony. The TV channels are bad and it would be nice to see it improved. Our cabin steward did our room twice a day and it was great. We didn't do any formal excursion. Just off the ship at Amber Cover, Grand Turk and walked around a bit at San Juan. We took a cab to Megan's Bay in St. Thomas. It was ok, similar to 7-mile beach in Grand Cayman. Overall I would highly recommend the Breeze. It is a great ship. Read Less

We cruise with Carnival because we love Carnival. This is my 2nd Christmas cruise the first was on Vista. While on this cruise my mom became sick and their medical department (Michael) was amazing and took such great care of her. My mom travels with oxygen, c pap, and walking is hard, but she had a great time we rented a scooter and it was perfect. We had a room with a balcony, so she had a great view if she didn't get off the ship. Embark and debark went smoothly until the transfer bus dropped us off st the wrong terminal. Frontier changed terminals so check. Loved Coco, one of the fun squad, she has so much energy and really makes everyone around her have a great time. We loved the entertainment and of course Bingo! The ports were great and I liked how at Grand Turk you could just walk off the ship and the beach was right there. We definitely will cruise again with Carnival. Read Less
